I used them for maybe 1 year and then tried to contact them for 2 years following with no response. I left many messages. Apparently, they didn't want my business so blew me off.

I was looking for a company to provide organic lawn care to control weeds in my lawn. I contacted this company and they came out promptly to survey my lawn. We customized a program that I felt comfortable with and they did a nice job providing the services requested. They made sure all gates were closed and were responsive to my phone calls and emails. Although this company doesn't serve Ames anymore, they did a good job informing me of this change and directing me to a local provider that offers the same services. I would definitely use this company again if I were living within their service area.

.brad scheduled an estimate at which he measured and looked over lawn and provided opinion on how to proceed. we agreed and prepaid for 5 visits (as described) plus soil analysis. his employee ahowed up as promised and so far so good. prepaying qualified us for 7% discount.

I used this service for 4 or 5 years and was very satisfied with them. I'd still be using them except that they stopped serving the Ames area in the fall of 2012. They were helpful and knowledgeable, and I appreciated their approach to lawn care - using non-toxic products.

started out really well. Responsive and very knowledgeable, but follow through started to decline after a few applicaitons. Had to call to remind them to do the things we had discussed to improve the lawn on several occasions. We decided to let them do some landscaping and I should have known better when I never got a final drawing of the plan. I trusted them. It looks pretty amateur and I am very disappointed in the final outcome. They didn't follow the plan when it was finally done. They used plants I didn't want and said I would pay for them anyway. They ruined some of my neighbors yard and were very sloppy with their equipment. My yard looked terrible after the landscaping and they never fixed it despite asking them to do so. Very disappointed.

It took a few days to get back to me, but they did get out and remove leaves (this was in early December after a snowfall) and have since been johnny-on-the-spot with snow removal. All in all, I am pleased. It does seem a little pricey to me for snow removal considering the size of the job, but I have not done a price comparison so cannot really speak knowledgeably regarding price.

Friendly service. We've only had 3 applications, so we're waiting to see results.

We have used, and will continue to use, Safe Earth for our lawn care and landscaping. Brad and his team provided season-long lawn care and greatly improved the appearance and health of our lawn. For landscaping, they provided estimates complete with plans. We have been very happy with Safe Earth, and we will be using them again this year for lawn care and additional landscaping.

We like that they are organic and not synthetic. Their prices are too high however. Overall I would rate them a B.

After a couple years of fairly grumpy service from 'American Lawn Care', and a new puppy in the yard, I decided to look around for a lawn fertilizing company that might be a little more environmentally friendly. Safe Earth Lawn and Garden fit the bill! After coming out and doing a pretty thorough survey of our yard, I was told we couldn't go "cold turkey" and switch completely over to more "green" fertilization. I thought that was pretty honest and cool -- this isn't a company that's going to make you go "green" come heck or high water -- it seems to me they're trying to provide you the homeowner with a nice looking lawn, at a competitive price (they're a couple more bucks than American was), and if they can lessen the chemical load on your lawn -- great!So anyways, we've had 2 treatments thus far, and the lawn is looking just as green as it ever has. Good people!

They are terrific and were fast to respond. They got here very quickly, and I would recommend them to someone else if required. I would rate them high across the board and I would use them again in the future.

Called on Day 1 got an estimate and they came out on Day 2 and got it all done. Cleaned up lots of leaves from our yard and also provided some fall trimming. Excellent job.

The lawn care service is four times per year. They are very environment friendly, cost is reasonable, good customer service, and responsible. I will use them again in the future.

Work was done professionally, on time and at a fair price. They knew what they were doing.

Towards the end of May, I called Safe Earth for estimate on lawn care. I was concerned about the creeping charlie and weeds in our front and side yard. I received a call back with estimate for several treatments and I was impressed with gentleman I spoke to and he answered my questions. He also explained how he didn't think I needed a certain treatment I asked about, but was willing to perform it if I really wished. I appreciated his honesty on that matter. I told him I would like the company to start the treatments. I was told that since Memorial Day was the following Monday, it would be later in the week. I agreed. On Sat. (June 4th I believe) I called to see when treatment would begin. I was told it would be the first of the week. Still no show. Now that week it rained Mon.and Tues., so I presumed treatment couldn't be applied, but the rest of the week it was dry. On Sat, (6/11) I called Safe Earth and received voice mail again, so I left a message to cancel my request to treatment due to not showing when I was told, twice, they would be there. Now on Monday (6/13), it rained all day, but to my surprise, treatment was applied. On Tuesday I received a call telling me they were sorry I wanted to cancel, but due to the weather they were behind. I explained I understood that, but then why was treatment put down on a day that rained...all day. I am sorry about this because I like the idea of this company. I just would think that a new customer would at leasts get service ASAP or if not, at leasst a call explaining why. I told the gentleman that called me, I would pay for the treatment that was put down, but not to continue with any more. I think two weeks and being put off, twice, was enough for me.

I have used Safe Earth for at least 4 years and have been very pleased. Their customer service is outstanding and my phone calls are always returned promptly. They have answered my many questions honestly without pushing their most expensive options. I even called once when I was concerned about a tree and they told me it didn't need to be treated and they were correct. I truly appreciate dealing with a company which will have an honest dialog with me and will work within my budget to obtain the best lawn possible. I am grateful to have an environmentally-friendly, chemical-free option in Des Moines.

They mowed and treated regularly for us. No complaints.

Called them told them my story they gave me a few options and told me what I could expect for results and decided to go forward with the applications.

They were easy to work with. Communication was good and the work was professional and done quickly.

They've always been honest. Only drawback is they don't seem very tech-savvy (i.e. easier to contact) which I've come to expect these days. We mail a check and they come a certain number of times in the summer...they always have come those times, we just don't know when that will be. They do put up a sign after a visit though, and we can see the product on the grass. We're using them this summer and I'm very glad of that. I wish they'd market more so other people would know and use them!

We have been Safe Earth's lawn treatment services for five years and have been pleased. Safety is very important to us; we try to use organic options whenever available. It was a no brainer for us to remain with Safe Earth because (1) they offer fully organic lawn treatments, (2) the price of those treatments are comparable to the non-organics and (3) our lawn looks just as good as the non-organic lawns.

They are inexpensive compared to others. They gave me a thorough estimate and offered different financing packages. I saw results before the end of the season even though they said I wouldn’t until the next season. I had called them for snow removal before Christmas, and they were great about that. We had 16 inches of snow before Christmas and also had a blizzard on Christmas. We are having seven inches of snow right now. They are good. They worked all day on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. I liked when they gave me a lawn estimate and offered me different options. I felt they were very honest about what would work and what would work half way. My experience with them was positive.

I had been wanting to have my front tree trimmed of the dead branches, but thought it would be too expensive. One day I noticed that my neighbor was having her tree trimmed and walked over to ask for an estimate. Adam promptly walked over and looked over my tree and allowed me to ask plenty of questions. He was very kind, patient and polite. When he had given me an estimate (very reasonable) I said OK. When can you do it? He looked at his watch and said he would have time, but needed to be home by 5:00 to coach his son's little league team. He did a very good job and did a good job of cleaning up the yard and even offered to take some branches I had laying next to the house. I'm a very happy customer and will call him again.

They have been great to work with. My husband and I have been happy with the way our yard looked after working with them. Our yard has looked as nice as our neighbors who have chemicals put on their lawns. We got started later in the season last year so it took some time for it to look like we wanted and are hoping for quicker results this year since we are starting in the spring. They always leave a tag on the door and a sign in the yard when they have been here.
