Good, was done when he said it would be. Just forget 1 little thing, I asked for a board to be replaced on the gate. But will wait for spring, and call and have it repaired then.

Great one man operation!! Prompt, professional and got the job done!

All appointment times were met to a tee from the day he showed up for the estimate, to the day he started the job. The work was completed when he said it would be. He was very personable as was his helper. The weather was cold and rainy and we really expected him to call and delay his start date but he showed up and got the job done. We have a sturdy, quality fence. He doesn't even know he's on Angie's List, (or what Angie's list is. ) I don't think he has a cell phone so you have to get a hold of him the old fashioned way, call and wait for an answer.

N and E built cedar fencing on the east and west borders of our property with two gates,and black chain link on the north border, with a gate as well. The service was delivered with professionalism and attention to detail, and completed within the time frame we agreed upon. We have been pleased with the fencing, and have also recommended N and E to others.

I contacted Larry for a quote and he came out on 9/12 and quoted me $570 for 34 feet of fence and 3 gates. I called back in October for him to start the fencing. He said he didn't remember the quote and asked if he could stop over again and I showed him the paperwork from the quote on 9/12. He said he'd get back to me that day on a new quote. He quoted me $860 and said he could no longer do it for the $570 price because that was extra material he had on hand. I said I'd get back to him which I did the following day. I said we'd like him to start but we are only going to do one fence instead of 3 and asked what the quote would be. He said $780 off the top of his head and I said that's not much of a difference when we are only having one fence instead of 3 now and I'd received other quotes for $250 for additional fences and he said that can't be right. It was, I pulled my paperwork to verify. Anyway, he said I'll do it for $730 how about that. I said, ok, and like we discussed on that first quote I want the posts set and then give them a day to set-up and he said it's not normally done that way. I had 4 quotes and ALL the other quotes were done that way and then he said, yeah, I don't wanna do this and hung up on me. My gut told me he wasn't the right man for the job when he gave me the first quote and I should have listened to my gut. Very unprofessional.

Everything went well. The contractor was prompt and came out as soon as the weather permitted and installed the fencing in two days.

We called back a day later to let him know we wanted a bigger fence than first requested. He said he was too busy and didn't want the job. Perplexing. He is so busy he turned down our business?!?

I called on Wednesday afternoon and they called back within 30 minutes. They came out on Thursday to give an estimate and the work was complete on Friday, May 10.

I called this company after seeing many positive reviews. I called twice, first time to leave a message which wasn't returned and the second time a woman answered, said the owner was on the phone with another customer and would call me right back. He didn't. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed.

We were quite pleased with Larry's work. He was prompt, professional, and cleaned up after the job. I done some research on fence companies, and was impressed with what others had to say about Larry, and found all the reviews to be correct. We now have a sturdy gate on our fence that will take a hurricane to blow down. I enjoyed working with the person who owns the company and does his own work, unlike the big fence companies that can take weeks to schedule a job. I would definitely recommend Larry to anyone looking to repair or build a fence.

I am extremely pleased to provide this review for Larry Elmore from Nand E fencing. The overall experience of working with him from beginning to end was very pleasant. Larry is a quiet, unassuming elderly guy who's very pleasant to talk to. But please dont ask him for discounts for using him off of Angies List. He categorically assured me that he is NOT tech savvy and does not own a computer, does not know how to get on the internet, does not know what Angies List is and definitely has no idea how he got on Angies List! But I didnt hold any of that against him as the quality of his work demonstrated that its far superior to any of the other fences that I saw in my neighbourhood! This is why Larry is a BIG cut above the rest: 1> He used '8 GAUGE' wire fences while almost all other fencing contractors use '9 GAUGE' wire fences. 8 GAUGE is commercial strength wire and far superior to 9 GAUGE 2> One other contractor gave me a quote for an 8 GAUGE fence which was $3800. So you can see the bang for the buck I got from Larry at $2600. 3> Larry uses concrete to set all the fence posts in place. Many contractors simply hammer them into the ground. 4> Larry stretched a guide-wire across the entire circumference of the fence, to help adjust the tension on the wire. This feature was not offered by any other fencing contractor. 5> Even though I changed my original plan of having 2 single entry gates and asked Larry to install a double gate at the last minute, he did it for me for only $30 extra! 6> He and his helper Mischa cleaned all the debris from the yard before they left.

I couldn't have been more pleased with Larry. His quality of work, work ethic, and willingness to please the customer were all top notch. Larry came to give me an estimate the day after I called. The price was lower than I expected. He answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. He was very willing to work with me to try to locate the fence line exactly where I wanted it, even though the terrain was tricky with hills, trees, rock berms, and utility lines. He scheduled the work to start two weeks later. On the first day, Larry arrived right after sunrise (7:30 AM in October). He had an assistant to help him. On that first day he completed all the posts and the top rails. All of the post holes were dug by hand, and some were in areas where utility lines were located. Larry called and worked with the Iowa One Call utility locator services to make sure he didn't hit any of the utilities while digging. Once the posts were installed, he filled the holes with concrete that he mixed on site, to add extra stability to the posts. He got rained out mid-afternoon, and had to stop work for the day. On the second day, Larry arrived at sunrise again. He completed the fence on the second day. He installed a bottom wire, which not all chain link installers will do. The bottom wire keeps the chain link fabric more rigid, and helps to prevent small dogs from trying to escape out the bottom. He then installed the chain link fabric. Finally, he made and installed two walk-through gates. He was done around 2 PM on the second day. He cleaned up the work site and the dirt from the post holes. Larry was one of the best contractors I've worked with. He was responsive on the phone, punctual, extremely hard working, and had a willingness to please. He has more than 20 years of experience and it showed. His prices were very reasonable and the quality of work was excellent. I think the fence looks great and I am very satisfied with the result. I would definitely call Larry again for any of my fencing needs. p.s. I told Larry that I found him through his reviews on Angie's List, and he admitted that he had no idea what that was, and doesn't have a computer. He is great at installing fences though!

Called Larry and we agreed on a time for an estimate. He came by and checked it out, provided an estimate and we agreed to go forward. He showed up on schedule, we reviewed the final layout and agreed, the fence was installed in 1.5 days. a beautiful fence with gates and my dogs and I love it!

I called Larry based on good reviews here on Angies List. He scheduled me in quick for a free estimate. I called him back after a couple weeks and he was able to get me in in about eight days. The other people I called couldn't even get out to give me an estimate before that. Larry is usually just a two man crew but did mine solo. I have to say for a smaller guy Larry surprised me with his hard work. He came early and worked all day. My ground is beyond hard and he had to dig out a lot by hand due to being close to underground lines. The fence looks great and was done early the third day. GREAT WORKER AND GREAT JOB DONE!

Larry was prompt and timely in his arrival and completion of the project. His prices were very reasonable.We will definitely call him again to take our our picket fence in the front.

Larry drove 20 plus to give us an estimate. His one one of three and came in $1000.00 to $1500.00 LESS than the others. At first we were leery of this and asked what products he used. They were the same products, quality fencing and cement, as the other bidders were going to use. He came out the day he said he would, the fence was completed in the time he said it would be. For a fair price and quality service this is your guy.

Called to inquire about fencing at our new home. Left message on 3/22/2012, received no call back. Called again on 4/10/2012 and left message. To date, have received no call back.

The job was harder than he expected. Our soul is very damp and there is lots of clay. He said it was a bear cat of a job, but he and his partner kept plodding through until they got it done and his charge was the same as the estimate despite the extra labor. The fence is very nice. The gates they built are exceptional. He does very high quality work.

The work was done on time and went very well. Larry was there first thing Monday morning. Everything was finished except for the three gates. That was completed first thing Tuesday morning. I am very happy with the job that was done. It looks great and my dog is finally able to be off his chain and is safe to run safely in his yard..... Thanks N & E.

The owner showed up very promptly for bids (on a weekend and on a holiday!) It was the hottest days of the year when they came to install the fenct, and they underpromised and overdelivered. They were done 1/2 day sooner than they had advised us they would be. They moved the fence line when the neighbor complained that it was on her property and STILL got done quicker than they promised on such a miserable day!! They were very polite and respectful.

He did a fantastic job. He ran wire through the bottom links so my dog wouldn't be able to dig under the fence and stretch it. He and his partner did a very nice job and I'm very pleased. I did not comparison shop but I believe the price was reasonable.

N & E Fencing exceeded our expectations, and did a great job overall. We recommend this company and would certainly use them again. They delivered an amazing amount of work and materials relative to our cost for this job.

When I called for the estimate, Larry came out about an hour later. The estimate that he gave was the lowest that I had received. When I asked how far out he was scheduling, he was available about 3 business days later. He reminded me that I would need to get a permit, and told me to contact him when I obtained it. The permit came quickly (within about 1 business day), and the same day that I got notificaiton that it was approved, Larry called me to let me know that he had gotten a call as well, and that they would be out 3 days later to start the fence. I was not there in the morning when they got there, but came home at lunch and they were almost finished. Larry and his employee were done at about 1 pm, cleaned up and left. We were extremely satisfied with the work that was done!!!

We got estimates from 5-6 fencing companies in the DM area to install approx 93 linear ft of a 6ft-cedar privacy fence in our backyard. Our neighbors on both sides already had 6ft privacy fences so we only had to do the back and the sides attached to our house. We also had (2) 4-ft gates installed on the sides. Larry's price was the lowest at around $1330 - most of the other 'bigger' companies came in around $1700-1800 and were booked several weeks out. Larry pulled the fence permit, called to have the area marked for underground wires, cable, etc. and came a week later when he said he would. He was professional and on time and cleaned up the dirt in the back yard from digging holes for the posts. Larry & his coworker took only 2 days to complete all the work. We are very pleased with the quality of the fence and how quickly he worked. We highly recommend Larry.
