 + -1 moreMetro appliance came out to look at our washer and dryer, which had both stopped working. Repair Tech was on-time, friendly and went right to work. The dryer just needed a new thermal fuse, which was an inexpensive part. The tech had to leave to get a part (fill switch) for the washer. This was my only small nitpick with the experience. He never said when he was coming back, so my wife had to wait at home all day (6 hours) before he came back to fix the washer. Overall, it was a great experience, but it would have been nice to know when that return visit was going to be. Price was reasonable, service was friendly, both appliances were fixed rapidly and to our satisfaction. Would definitely call them again!

 + -1 moreI am happy with the final resolution and with the dryer that I purchased. I appreciated very much that Metro Appliance called in someone who knew how to repair the dryer and that they paid for that. The reason I have not rated Metro Appliance very highly is due to the attitudes of the manager and the two service techs and how we were treated by them, as well as the fact that when they "reconditioned" the machine they didn't bother to clean the lint out of it. The airflow was very restricted and that is probably why the thermostat failed. I must say that the men who delivered the dryer were very nice.
Description of Work: A Metro Appliance serviceman was called to repair my clothes dryer. I was told that the timer was bad and that they could no longer get the parts for it. They said they had a nice supply of good reconditioned dryers available at their store so I went to take a look at them. I selected a Bosch dryer that they had on the floor. They did tell me that they don't work on Bosch dryers unless they sell them. Unfortunately, the dryer didn't work. It would run for awhile and then shut down and displayed a "clean lint filter" message. Even though it was "reconditioned" it was full of lint. Not just on the lint screen but down beyond the screen. I called and told the manager at Metro Appliance about the lint and he insisted that they had taken the entire machine apart and that he personally was involved - so without saying it he was suggesting that I didn't know what I was talking about. I offered to email him a picture of the lint but he said they don't have email. A service tech came out and watched it run for 20 minutes and declared that there was nothing wrong with it. I did my best to clean all of the lint out and it worked for part of a load and then it wouldn't heat anymore. Metro sent another person out who was rude, demeaning and not very knowledgeable. He told me that the reason it wasn't heating was because I had selected "Permanent Press Regular Dry" instead of the "Regular/Cotton" setting. After these two unsuccessful service attempts Metro sent another repairman, Dan Can Fix It, LLC, and he was able to fix everything. Metro Appliance picked up the bill for Dan's service and I love the dryer now.

They cam at the arranged time, diagnosed the issue, then returned the next day with the part and I was back in business! The individual was professional and prompt.

 + -1 moreHe was very good at showing me how to clean it out myself the first time which I appreciated. He did a wonderful job. He came in, took his shoes off and went into what he was doing. He knew exactly what he was doing and he came on time too. He was very kindly and courteous. I liked his service and I had no problems at all. His price was comparable to others in this area. What I appreciated the most was that he spent the time to really show me how to get back in to clean it out myself so that I wouldn't need another service call. His quality of work was wonderful. He actually called me and gave me a time frame. He called me again when he was going to be ten minutes from the job.
Description of Work: We used Metro Appliance about six weeks ago to unclog our washing machine and also to replace the seal outside.

 + -1 moreStopped by today shopping for a used Washer. The person helping me was very knowledgeable about picking a reliable washer, as he also repaired them. He listened to what I was looking for, and showed me a few that he thought I would like. He easily negotiated the price down $25, and helped me load it in my truck. The used washer had a 60 day warranty, which I though was just right for a used machine to make sure it wasn't a lemon. This happens to be the same place that looked at my old washer. I was very impressed that the repair person did NOT mention that his place also sells used washers so that his opinion to replace instead of repair the old washer did not present a conflict of interest. I found that they sold used appliances on my own in the phone book when I was looking for used appliance sales.

 + -1 moreThey scheduled for 1 day after we called, and gave us a 2 hour window in which they would arrive. They also said they would call before they came. Turns out, they did what they said. The repair guy called as he was getting ready to come to our place, and arrived within the time that was scheduled. He looked at the washer and made sure I put the belt on properly. He diagnosed the problem, and told us that the cost to repair it would be more than the cost of a new unit. He gave us some suggestions on brands and features for our next washer. I would recommend them to anybody who needs an honest, locally owned appliance repair company.
Description of Work: We called them to fix our Washer. The drive belt broke, and I replaced the belt myself, but the spin cycle still didn't work.

 + -1 moreAre fridge was not cooling properly. We called Metro-Appliance that morning and had them out by 11 am. A timer was found to be the problem and they replaced it onsite, no waiting. I picked Metro-Appliance because of their rating on Angie's and hoped that I could get service that same day as our food was about to spoil. I expected them late in the day but was greatful they made it out before lunch. It would have been nice if the trip charge was less or waived since there was a problem that involved parts and labor.
Description of Work: Fridge was not cooling properly, replaced a timer and things are back to normal.

Description of Work: We had a oven that took a long time to heat, and had started shutting off at random. The technician (Tim) diagnosed the problem, and had the part replaced in less than half an hour. Very prompt and professional.

 + -1 moreMy wife decided that a second fridge would help at times. She decided to buy a used fridge from Metro appliance. She suprised me with having it delivered and sitting out in the gargage ready to go. The only problem I found wrong was that a screw was missing on the bracket to open the door. I went on line to buy the screw, and checked several sources, only to find out they want around $5.00 to $7.00 for one screw plus shipping. I then showed my wife what we needed and told her to check with Metro Appliance and we would buy one from them. Instead of chargeing us for the screw or just giving it to my wife they made the trip to the house and fixed the problem at NO CHARGE. I'll give them an A rating all the way around.
Description of Work: Fixed the door on the fridge that my wife had bought from them two weeks previous. They jumped at the chance to show that they are all about service and customer satisfaction.

 + -1 moreThey were helpful on the phone, were able to schedule me the next day, and they fit me in at a time that was workable in my schedule. The repair person arrived promptly, was friendly and professional. Although he was unable to determine the exact cause of one problem, he made a suggestion that has worked so far, and he was able to fix the other problem. The price was reasonable, and if the problem re-occurs within 30 days, I do not have to pay the service call charge again, just parts and labor.
Description of Work: My freezer was not staying cold, and the door to where the ice comes out in the ice/water dispenser in the door, was stuck open. The next when day the repair person came, my freezer was inexplicably working again, but he thought the problem was likely linked to the ice maker, which he suggested I either replace or just shut off. I shut it off and have not had problems since. He also fixed the ice dispenser door.
