JC Toland Painting

It went poorly from the first day, when they kept rescheduling due to weather. they were to remove all the shutters to paint them, but told us they didn't want to because the screws might not work to put them back. As a result when you looked out the windows the underside of the shutters were still the old paint color. After three tries and still not having removed the shutters, we finally told them forget it. The siding bubbled and peeled three days after they finished and the metal deck railing was never primed or prepped properly and startied blistering within the week of the job completion. After legal threats they came out to fix the railing only to have it now in worse shape than it was before they fixed it. they were friendly and eager to take our money, but not so when confronted with issues. I never write reviews, but if this saves one person from going through what we did, it is totally worth it.

I had requested two quotes which included removal of wall paper, and painting . One quote would be the smaller project (stairwell); and the second quote would be a larger (stairwell, hallway and small bathroom). I stated that I was interested in having the smaller project completed at this time. I was told that they would forward my response to the scheduler to see when they could start which usually was 2-3 weeks out. I have not heard another word from them since the 8/5/14 email. I sent another email yesterday, 9/15/14, but have not received any response or acknowledgement.

I took the morning off work to meet with JC Tolland at 10:00 AM. At 10:00 AM the office assistant called and stated JC Tolland told her they do not come to my town. So I took the day off work for nothing. I know they do come to my town because they painted for a friend of mine and he referred me to them. The office assistant gave me JC Tolland's cell phone number and he would not take my call nor did he return a call in response to a message I left on his voice mail. I understand there are circumtances when appointments cannot be met, however they had two days to determine that they would not come to my town and waited until i used personal time off work simply because he was not organized enough to look at his schedule the day before.

It went great! Our contractor hired them, based on estimates and quality of previous work. Our bathroom still looks fantastic, and I still can't believe how perfectly our window frames and sills match the cupboards. They were quick, quiet, and thorough, and did a wonderful job. I decided to write this review because I am preparing to contact them again for another, larger scale paint job.

The painters were the consummate professionals and did excellent work very quickly. They were pleasant and nice, but they also worked very hard and completed the job in four days with two coats on all surfaces. The results are incredible and we love the look of the new rooms. We will certainly use them when we repaint our upstairs bedrooms and office in the future.
