Description of Work: I purchased a $60 tuneup offer on Angie's List. The company contacted me to schedule the appointment, then showed up promptly at the arranged time. The technician tightened the chain, lubricated the rails, and adjusted the springs. He talked to me about possibly replacing the springs, but I opted not to do so at this time.

Description of Work: We called Hicklin Garage Door since we had a broken spring and they were recommended by Angie's List. When they came out they did not have the appropriate spring so they had to make arrangements to come back. They put on a temporary spring so the door worked and came back in a couple weeks. They did not have a door with 8 windows like the others in the association but replaced it with a 7 window unit which is hard to tell the difference. My main concern came when they were ready to leave and said the garage door opener was on it's last legs and tried to adjust it so the door would close. About a week after they left the door would not close so I tried to adjust it as instructed by the technician at the opener unit to no avail. My son came out, looked at it, and adjusted the sensors so it would close. I do not know why the technician did not do this and it would seem he should have. The door is now making a squeling noise when it closes but does close. I would not recommend this company to others.

We sent an e-mail inquiry to Hicklin which was replied to that very same evening even though it was after their normal working hours. They were very accommodating in meeting our schedule for the initial consultation and install. The salesman was very thorough in giving us a full description of all options available and was patient in answering our questions. The install was done quickly and ahead of schedule. The new door looks beautiful. We definitely recommend Hicklin Overhead Doors.

A few days later,I heard noise on the up or down of door. I called, |serviceman came out, corrected the noise problem, no charge and door is in |fine operating mood. This door had never been serviced and I have had it for years, good price for service and I would use Hicklin again.

However, after having a chance to talk thru the job with the tech, see the damage that had already been done to my garage door over the last few years and having enjoyed the end results for the last week, I'm pretty happy with my experience.
