I bought my garage overhead door 5 years back from Hicklin Overhead door Co. along with new opener. I have had no problems with either. The opportunity to get the system tuned up and reconditioned at a discount thru Angie's list was timely. I was contacted immediately and set up an appointment. My service man Mark contacted me a1/2 hr before scheduled appointment and arrived on time. I was very pleased with the adjustments made and the performance of the door afterwards. They will keep my business!

Our 40 year old garage door was stuck. Hicklin sent two technicians to our house in Urbandale, and they surveyed the situation and reviewed price ranges for a replacement system. They explained features of garage door and opener, and I ordered the door and opener. After indicating that the color of door was not in stock, and that it would be 2 weeks before they could receive door and install it, they called a day later and told me they did have one in stock that matched color. The sent a very knowledgeable technician out in the next 2 days and in 3 hours the installation was complete. Very professional and punctual. They are open late in the evening and have teams of technicians available at all hours (even Sundays). I would not hesitate to use Hicklin again and I highly recommend them..

Came and gave an estimate of a total replace. I later refused. Did not get the tune up done.

Called because garage door wasn't opening. Within 2 hours they were at my house making the repairs. They also returned 2 days later to make adjustments to the door & track after hearing a loud noise when the door would shut. Since then the door is working perfectly. I appreciated the quick service & would definitely recommend them & would use them again if needed.

There's a little up-selling, but that's too be expected with these coupon deals. On time, worked efficiently and effectively Very easy via Angie's list. Probably could have found a more economical solution with more show leather, but was worth the simplicity of getting a needed job done via a reliable Angie's list provider.

I power sanded each corner of the door header as explained by the service tech and now the door works perfectly. There was no extra charge for the advice. I would highly recommend Hicklin Overhead Doors and its staff.

Mark did a very good job in explaining what needed to be done and was very professional in doing the work. He pointed out possible future problems that I should be aware of. I was very pleased with his work and would request his services again if needed.

Scheduled for 1:00 pm but received a call from installer asking to come early. On site by 11:00 and done by 1:30. Removed old door and hardware, clean install and looks great. Very professional and courteous. Cleaned up old door and track and hauled it away.

for aBill was courteous and arrived on time. Our door was failing to close about twice a week and noisy going up and down. We did have him replace the wheels with 10 new nylon wheels which he installed during the tune up for the cost of the wheels ($99). The door is silent and smooth operating now. He also explained a lubrication schedule we should follow. Very satisfied with the services performed.

Great company with very nice employees. Carefully explained what needed to be done, did it and then showed me exactly what he'd done. Took time to answer all my questions and made sure I understood what maintenance I need to do which amounts to applying some silicone spray to the joints every six months.

We discovered we had a broken garage door spring early Sunday morning when we tried to leave the house and we were unable to get the door open. I called Hinklin around 9 am. They said they could have someone there between 11-1. They showed up a little after 11. The service technician was friendly and quickly got to work replacing the springs. I had both replaced with the basic springs since both were more than 12 years old. He offered to replace the door roller and also the seal at the bottom of the door. It had been on my todo list to replace the seal so I had him do that as well. It was great I got a person to come out on a Sunday. I would recommend them and call them again.

The spring on our garage door broke. A service tech arrived within 2 hrs of my call. He advised and recommended our repair options with no pressure toward any choice. He was efficient and completed the work quickly. Very pleasant personality. $400 price (includes 5 yr warranty) seemed high, but in fairness, I did not shop around.

I called Hicklin at 8am to see about scheduling someone to come and replace a broken garage door spring. The guy asked me if I would be home in an hour or so, so I said yes, of course. The tech called me about 45 minutes later and said he was on is way. Showed up, looked at my garage door, gave me a few options, and proceded to replace the springs. He was done in 30-45 minutes! I really wasn't even expecting them to come today, but now my door is working again and all is well. Overall a great experience. I would absolutely use these guys again for whatever issues I may have in the future.

He was on time, professional and very knowledgeable. I think the price was a bit steep for such a minimal repair but I do have peace of mind knowing it was done professionally and within a few hours of calling to schedule appointment.

They showed up at the scheduled time and I called them back when the keyless pad quit working on me. Within 10 mins it was working again.
