Description of Work: I've had my computer to them twice in the last year. Once was for a virus and the other was a self-inflicted wound. Both times they did a thorough job. That took more than a couple days but both times they did quality work and made me better than before the incidents, adding extras to my desktop just because they knew it would be nice to have . They also added a remote link that I've used when I had minor problems or questions, they've helped me out at no extra charge. There is something about the sound on my system that isn't like everyone else. They really tried to fix it and finally figured out another solution. They are proffessional and knowledgeable and helpful and hardworking. I've recommended them to friends and would recommend them to everyone.

Description of Work: After placing initial inquiry about a 5yr old dexk top computer acting very slowly on all commands, we discussed cost and availability of services. I took the unit out. They came out and carried unit into the office. We reviewed problems, costs and time needed to repair.Upon completion of repairs, I received a thorough explanation of all things corrected and a demonstration of reorganization of programs and places where appropriate things were put. I feel their professionalism and computer expertise were exhibited at all times. They also carried the computer back out to the car for me. They explaned potential problems I might encouter and how and when to deal with them in the future.

+ -1 moreI have not been happy with their service, they don't get back to you in a timely manner, they take a long time to get the work done, much longer than they promised, and they are very high priced.
Description of Work: I dropped off my computer to get cleaned up and have my disc compartment fixed. I had to go back for them to fix the disc compartment. After I received my computer, I then started to get malwire and a virus. I emailed them and called them several times, no answer. I just took it somewhere else and received better service.

+ -1 moreI discussed on phone, then dropped my computer off. Paid a deposit of $50 on an estimated bill of $150. Later diagnosed as needing more time and $300. Had to go by again and drop off software to be reloaded. I felt like I had to keep calling him, partly because he wasn't real big at checking back but also because he seemed to favor calling the phone # listed as third choice. Once, 3 days went by before I realized he had left me a message. If he had called the number I kept leaving, that part would have gone smoother. When the work was finally complete, I went in to pick it up and he was great at showing me what he had done, and how I would be able to use it at home on my own. He installed a virus protection he feels is superior - and free. He also installed software to enable him to take control from his office. That came in handy a couple of weeks later when I discovered I didn't have sound. I called him and he was able to fix the problem quickly. It's been 1 1/2 months and I'm happy with my system again. Also, he gave me a 10% discount because I found him through Angie's list.
Description of Work: My computer was doing nutty things and apparently full of viruses; needed a full cleaning.

+ -1 moreThe quality of the repair was OK. Three months later the laptop is working fine, but there is a slight cosmetic issue. When the closed up the insides they left a very small part of a wire exposed. Iowa Computer does not carry a big inventory of parts. Once they determined what was wrong, they had to order the part. So the repair took a few days longer to complete. The delay was not too long, but future customers should keep this in mind when choosing Iowa Computer. I would use them again.
Description of Work: The screen om my son's laptop was not working. Iowa Computer ran some diagnostic test to determine the cause of the problem. It didn't take them long to determine the problem and order the part.

Description of Work: I had a small problem with my monitor which was beyond my expertise. They quickly returned my call and fixed the problem within minutes of my bringing it in.
