BURKHEAD ELECTRIC

Several problems noted in the first couple of years of new home. Heated floor panel was not connected (when second electrician took off panel, wires were just hanging there). Low voltage and high voltage wires were crossed. We are on our fourth doorbell due to wiring and transformer problems. We spent hundreds repairing our geothermal unit only to finally figure out the wiring was incorrect and low and high voltage wires had crossed and melted. They aren't responsive to calls. It takes a couple of calls, and then they don't come. It's been a month (after two calls, the "We are very busy" response and "We'll just stop out some morning." Too casual in follow-up for a business. Also I worry my house is not wired correctly and is going to cause a fire.

Out of a possible 5 stars, I give Burkhead Electric 6 stars! I recently purchased a house in the Beaverdale area and it needed a major electrical overhaul. The Burkhead team spent four days going through the entire house to upgrade outlets, increase the capacity of the main panel and install a whole house surge protector. They even crawled around in the attic to make sure there were no electrical problems hidden in the insulation. They also coordinated efforts with the folks installing my new furnace and A/C to make sure the electrical hookup was satisfactory. And then, they returned one night mid-job at 10:00 pm when I notified them part of my power went out. The problem turned out to be a local transformer and not related to the work being done on the house, just a coincidence. But Burkhead sent someone out to the house just to make sure I was safe. That's what I call customer service! The Burkhead folks are reliable, honest, affordable, and you won't meet any nicer people to work with. And, if electrical panels can be elegant, this is one of the most elegant looking installations I've ever seen. I give Burkhead Electric my HIGHEST recommendation!!

He arranged to come quickly after I called him, he was felxible with his time and my schedule. He was extremely nice and worked quickly. He was there a little less than an hour. He knew what he was doing and was even trusting enough to leave my home and trust that I would call him the next day to pay with my credit card. The price, I thought, was extremely reasonable. Tim is also the son of the company's owner.

Never again.

This was a positive experience. We had spent $1700 with another contractor. We had the property inspected and every deficiency was in the electrical area. We spent $2200 with Burkhead Electric, and he did a fabulous job. We had the electrical work inspected after he was done and everything was done properly. He's a nice guy and does good work. We'll definitely use him again.
