They were terrific. They were very careful with all of our belongings, and very careful about how/where the placed items in the new house.

They broke a vase. They didn't offer to pay for it and I didn't ask. Besides breaking the vase, they did a good job. They were on time. I would use them again, but my biggest problem besides them breaking something is he came with three men. Then, he was supposed to get one man, who never showed up. Halfway through it, two of the three men quit and left just the boss there by himself. He was there by himself for an hour or two and then he got one or two more guys to finally come over. It was just a mess. We didn't get done until that evening. Then, at the end, one got broke and everyone was tired. I mean I understand, but it wasn't my fault, it was theirs. The boss was apologetic over and over, he kept working hard by himself, so I felt bad for him. I'll use him again; I'm sure that'll never happen again.

Everything went great, no issues. The two gentleman that came out were easy to work with and went straight to work.

We first hired A-1 Movers for a move in late October 2015 to our home in Perry. Ricky and his team exceeded our expectations. They wrapped all the furniture in padding and were very careful in handling everything. They even did things like shutting off water lines in crawlspaces and moving some furniture for a daughter-in-law which was not part of the original plan. A job change forced my wife and I to move to a new home just 11 months later. We called Ricky and again, he and his team did a fantastic job, getting everything moved without damage. Ricky also hooked up the washer and dryer and assembled our bed frame for us as well. We do not plan on moving again, but if we did, we would be calling A-1 Movers.

Really well. The two men were patient, efficient, friendly and professional! Everything was terrific!!!

Everything was moved as promised. I had a few things that were broken. There was also a well packed 65" 4k TV that worked before I packed it. The screen was cracked when I plugged it in a few days later. It's hard to pinpoint exactly when it happened so I can't say for certain it was caused by the movers. However, the movers were very pleasant to work with and the rate was good.

I was very pleased with my experience with this moving company. They helped us last minute and they were very professional. It's a family run business and you can't go wrong with choosing them.

Showed up promptly. Ricky and Trey were professional. No hidden charges. Worked quickly and were right on target with the estimated time.

It went amazingly well! I've never had to move the contents of an entire house before, so this was my first experience with using a professional moving company. I had looked into 2 Men and a Truck, but they charge more for weekend work, so decided to go with A-1. I paid for 3 men for 8 hours of work, and they moved my 3 bedroom, finished basement house in the allotted time, with not much time to spare. It was a hot August day, and these men worked their tails off. They could not get everything loaded in one trip, so what they couldn't fit into the truck they put in the garage and made a second trip after the first unload. They wrapped up all the furniture in blankets and plastic to ensure no damage was done, and I've not found any evidence of damage to any of my pieces since the move. Once they arrived at the new house with the first load, I gave them a tour of where everything needed to go. They assembled the beds, and put everything exactly where I'd asked. At the end, they asked if there was anything I wanted re-located or moved elsewhere, which was very helpful and courteous. The men were very polite and efficient...I would not hesitate to use A-1 in the future.

They were excellent. It was a small move. It was a one-bedroom apartment. But, it was in kind of a rush because in a short notice, I was going to join a couple of friends, one of whom had just been diagnosed with cancer. I was going to go, move in with them to help take care of him during his treatment. So, I did the packing. What I didn't want was to use a big moving company that would stick my stuff on the end of a truck and get there three weeks later. So they did a specific one for me. They packed up and left at the same time that I did. It was expensive. He very clearly gave me some cheaper alternatives. But, that was what I needed. They did a fantastic job. They were polite and professional. They actually beat us to Las Vegas, where actually the friend who had cancer met them. The other friends had flown out to help me drive and we were a little bit slower. So everything had been unloaded by the time we got there. They were personable, friendly and very professional. I have nothing but good things to say about them.

We had A1 move our heavy household furniture and I would highly recommend them. They were efficient, professional, friendly and there was no damage to our belongings. We will be moving again within the year and I wouldn't even think about calling anyone else!

We love these guys. They have moved us twice. This time they moved a whole heck of a lot of stuff from a house in Des Moines to Ankeny. They loaded and unloaded. They put things in the correct rooms. Very hard working and fast. They were careful with antiques. Very friendly and polite. I hate moving and they make it so easy.

gThe proprietor, Rick, very politely introduced he himself to me. He is softly well spoken and very professional. After quoting me the price for the packing, plus cost of driving to Nevada and back, he offered me a couple of alternative less expensive alternatives. But none of them accommodated my needs as well, which included the fact that I have a physical disability and had an unexpected rush to the timing of my move. I was very grateful to have A-1 Movers willing to take it on. Rick and his partner showed up right on time for packing day. I had actually packed up a number of boxes in advance, but they tacked all the big, bulky and heavy and fragile stuff, all of which arrived in perfect order. Between what I had done and how quickly they worked, the movers were able to leave after only about 2 1/2 hours. The Day of Move went totally smoothly. They started right in at high gear, doing fial wrappings as needed, carrying stuff out, and double checking every closet and room for a missed item that they were going to be driving harder than my companion and me, and that they probably would be met by our other roommate to let them in. WE made quite good time and thought we might see them , were here, but they had unloaded, When we arrived we could find nothing missing and found nothing broken. It's pretty impressive when your mover makes better time in your move than you do!

They did a great Job. We had the owner running our crew. We did recommend them to another person and they did a awful job and broke several things, However the own was not present. If you use them make sure the own is on the crew you get.

The movers and office staff are exceptional and very professional. They completed the move is less time and less cost than the estimate. We were very pleased.

A-1 Movers did a fantastic job. Because I live in Maryland it was a great comfort to be able to go to Angie's list and find a mover with good ratings in the Des Moines area and work with them. They were on time, expertly moved all the furniture and boxes, and provided extra wardrobe boxes at our request. I would highly recommend their services.

I wish I could give A-1 Movers grades of A+ all the way through. The movers did an outstanding job with our move! Professional, hard-working, friendly, and trustworthy are qualities that these gentlemen possess. They took great care with our household goods, and in our new house, they laid covering on the new hardwood floor as a matter of routine. They were very careful about the floor. On the second day, we had a delay getting into the new house and starting with the unloading, but they took items to the shed that was open and took items to the patio door going into the basement, so no time was wasted. They worked vary hard both days, and even though it took more time than any of had anticipated, including me and my wife, I was the one to mention to them that an adjustment needed to be made to their original estimate, which contained a maximum. Their adjustment was a bit low in my estimation, so I added to it. They certainly deserved it! These gentlemen definitely helped make our move a better experience. We do not plan to move again, but if it does happen, we will contact A-1 Movers first. I highly recommend A-1 Movers!!!

I have been a customer of A1 Movers for many years and highly recommend them! They always arrive on time, conduct a walk thru of the work, are well-equipped to handle all items, take great care with everything and complete the work very timely. I always have the utmost trust that they will move and secure even the most delicate items. They are very professional and delight to work with!
