O'DONNELL PAINTING

We can't say enough good things about them. Tyler O'Donnell is a perfectionist and my home reflects it. These folks are truly professional painters. They pressure washed, scraped, primed and painted two coats. In addition, they caulked 53 windows and replaced a couple bad areas of wood. They showed up every Monday through Friday at 7 a.m. and also worked Saturday mornings until the job was done. The house looks beautiful. Excellent contractor at a fair price. Highly, highly recommend them.

We used O’Donnell Painting several years ago to paint the outside of our house (stucco body and wood trim). We had to bring them back to fix problems with paint falling off the wood trim a year later. They did repaint the problem areas to our satisfaction. We contacted them again this year to repaint the external wood trim. We have a Craftsman style home with traditional exposed rafter tails and tongue and groove boards rather than modern enclosed soffit at the roof overhang. The wooden overhang was dirty and had some mildew that needed to be removed so we could assess the need for repainting the overhang. The O’Donnell crew cleaned the overhang with a power-washer and a solution of bleach, soap and water. Unfortunately, the crew failed to warn us as to what they were going to do and cleaned the overhang without removing outdoor furniture sitting directly below. The result was that they ruined the fabrics below with the bleach solution. I called Jim O’Donnell and he referred me to his son Tyler. It appears that Jim is no longer actively managing the painting operation but is only involved with selling jobs. Regrettably, his son Tyler was unable to recognize that there were any issues with the work they performed. When I asked if he would have done the same thing on his house, he was unable to acknowledge that he would have moved the furniture or called for help when something wasn’t right (I was able to move all of the furniture, the umbrella and the rug by myself in less than 10 minutes). I waited a week to see if the O’Donnell team would call to discuss a potential resolution. When no one followed up, I let Tyler know that we would be looking for another painter to complete the work. Since then, there’s been no contact by Jim O’Donnell. It appears that there has been a significant loss in terms of product and service quality with the transition from Jim O’Donnell to his son Tyler. It’s our sense that the business was well-managed years ago when Jim was more involved. The current state is unfortunate. Steer clear of these knuckleheads.

We had a quote done but had all of our windows replaced (26 windows) and asked for another quote since there would be less detail work. They came out for another quote and 6 weeks had passed and still nothing. I finally called and was told the price would not change due to our new play structure which was there when the previous quote was given. We asked for the pricing since I had received an email saying their prices were going up and we NEVER received the new price. Horrible customer service - convinced us to do siding and not paint. I would stay far away from this company.
