Great job Said they would be there by 8:30 and there right at 8:30. Everything was completed and everything cleaned up by 4. It was amazing how quickly they worked and what a good job they did. The owner of the business was here in the morning and explained what was going on and then returned in the afternoon. Great service and great work. Thanks!!!!

I called earlier in the week to set up an appointment for an estimate to replace our roof. Tim asked me to send him my information and a good time for an estimate to be performed. I sent him my information and he responded with a time that was better for him, which happened to be fine with us. He never showed up.

We had a small water stain on the interior ceiling of an upstairs hallway. After exploring the attic, I determined that moisture was entering around a vent pipe. The roof was sixteen years old so I thought a new roof may be in order. We visited several roofing companies at the Des Moines Home and Garden Show. We had four or five companies come out to analyze the roof and tell us what was need. All the companies suggest a new roof and gave us quotes. All were within the same range basically for like materials and labor. I looked to Angie?s List for a review of each company. In researching these companies, I stumbled on Des Moines Area Roofing and owner, Tim Wolfswinkel. One particular review resonated with me so I contacted Tim. I scheduled an appointment with him. He came at the designated time, and we discussed my roof. Tim was the only contractor who indicated that the roof had additional years of life remaining. He identified several items that needed to be addressed. Tim said that if the roof was his, he?d fix the problems rather than replacing the roof. Tim followed up promptly with a quote for the repair work and a quote for a replacement roof. I thought his quote for the repair work was very reasonable for the work needed. His quote for the replacement roof was slightly less that the other contractors for like materials and labor. We accepted the quote for the repair work, and I anticipated that I?d be place on a schedule for completion at a future date. The day that I accepted the quote, Tim contacted me and said that another customer need to push back his project, and he wondered if they could complete our work that afternoon. Naturally, I said ?yes? as I wanted the roof repaired prior to spring rains. Tim first look at our project on a Wednesday morning and sent me a quote electronically that very same day. I agree to the pricing and the work on a Friday morning and the work was completed that same Friday afternoon. Tim was absolutely wonderful to work with. I chose Des Moines Area Roofing because of their excellent reviews on Angie's List and it was a great decision. He explained what the problems were, thoroughly discussed what was a necessary, immediate fix as well as suggestions he had for additional maintenance that should be done in the future. I contacted him in late December and the work was completed to my 100% satisfaction in January. I will definitely use this company for any future roofing needs I have.

Tim was upfront from the beginning which I appreciate. It wasn't that long ago that a roof was put on so I knew some of the issues with the roof. He said the gutters were not in that bad of shap and I could keep them. I knew they were not that old. But as I am replacing the roof I have opted to replace the gutters with larger ones. He said it would take a few extra weeks to get the gutters on which was no problem for me as he fixed the leak in my old gutter & has left the original gutters on until the work can be done. I realize winter is coming & was waiting on a home equity loan. As soon as it was approved Tim went to work, didn't even wait for the money to get in the bank (which made me a little nervous) but with winter coming on the work needed done as soon as possible. Tim is waiting for all the work to be done before I pay him to make sure I'm happy with everything.His team came early and the roof was on by 4:30 in the afternoon. They took all the shingles off the old roof and hauled them off. I have nothing but praise for this company, very proffesional, very friendly and I would recommend him to anyone. I found him on Angie's list, checked the better business bureau, and that is how I picked this company along with all the reviews. His prices are more then fair in my opinion. He even leaves extra shingles so you don't have to match them later if you for any reason have to replace some down the road. Best company ever! Great job guys! Tim was helpful, friendly, knowledgable, made appropriate suggestions and finished the job sooner than expected. I had contacted him late in the roofing season, but he was able to complete the roofing prior to cold weather.

Our 20+ year old roof had been patched several times but serious leakage around the brick fireplace, sagging roof areas and minor occasional leaks in other areas prompted us to have the entire roof replaced. Obtained estimates from three very qualified companies and pricing was comparable across all three. One adjustment I made in comparing them was the number of sheets of plywood that would need to be replaced. Having been on the roof with Tim, we agreed that there would need to be more sheets replaced than the 3 shown on Tim's standard estimate but we would not be able to determine how many until the old shingles came off. I factored in many additional sheets at the per-sheet price to make the number of sheets to be replaced consistent across all three companies. Tim's estimate came in somewhat under the others. Throughout the estimating, scheduling, construction and follow-up process, Tim was always easy to get in touch with and kept me apprised of what was happening. He has a thorough knowledge of up-to-date roofing technologies and processes. One of the reasons I chose his company was his recommendations on the best approach for what needed to be done. His willingness and patience in answering my probably never-ending list of questions was another reason. His crew is professional and hard-working. When rain interrupted work, the stripped areas of roof were tarped. The crew worked until dark to make up for lost time on a one-day job that turned into a two-day job for circumstances out of their control. Tim and his crew did a great job of accomplishing what we needed. Des Moines Area Roofing did a great job for us.

From the very beginning Tim was very helpful. When he came out to do the estimate, he was very knowledgeable and helped in choosing a shingle color to accent the house and some other helpful ideas to give the roof a modern look. I was on vacation so when I left I had an aging roof and when I came back I had a brand new one that I won't have to worry about for the rest of my life. Other than picking out the color of the new shingles I literally had to do nothing.

So, this last year, another construction company working on my house told me I should get a new roof in the next year so. I didn't know if I needed one or not but they weren't the first people to tell me this so I decided to start shopping around. I got Tim's card from my neighbor who just had his roof done with Tim and it looked amazing. This neighbor got Tim's card from another friend who had a great experience. I figured, ok I will start getting bids to see what kind of money I am in for and Tim will be my first call. Once Tim met with me I didn't look any further and here's why... Tim answered and set up a meeting to bid right away. He was on time and communicative with me on the phone and email. He got up on the roof and checked it all out. He told me I didn't need a new roof but I could just use some repairs! I guess my shingles weren't buckling or sliding or curling so I was really fine for a while! I honestly couldn't believe he was being so up front with me. I mean here I was saying hey, quote me a new roof I think I need one, and he was adamant that I didn't need to spend the money on a brand new roof! I had a good few years left. I'm a younger single female and I thought for sure I was just going to get crazy high bids from people and not a whole lot of honesty. Let me tell you, Tim was a breath of fresh honest air! Tim wrote me up a quote and went through everything. He even made a list of high priority to low priority if I didn't think I could afford all of the repairs. I can't remember exactly but I think I got new roof vents, which I desperately needed. I had some roof shingles fixed, new caps on some other vents and some protective shielding material under some roof shingles that were poorly installed by the previous company from years ago. Everything came to $1500 which was a really good price. I remember I asked him what a new roof would cost, just for knowledge and that was very reasonable as well and I have a decent sized roof! The guys came out to work very quickly and were done within one day. I remember too that I got a deal on getting more vents installed because Tim wanted to keep his workers busy and my guess is paid the entire day instead of just a half day. I thought that was awesome. He called me to ask if I would want to consider getting the other vents on the second part of my roof that we had already discussed as a possibility and I went with the deal on discounted vents. After the guys were done I checked it all out. I found a shingle or two that were still popping up and a stick under one that had been there for some time. I emailed him a picture of what I was talking about and Tim sent the guys out the next working day and they repaired it all. Tim even told me in his reply to my email that I should keep my check until I'm completely satisfied. Overall I had a great experience with Tim's company. I have told other friends and coworkers about Tim and will use him again in the future for roofing needs. I appreciated the honesty, fair prices, and communication. There just didn't seem to be any B.S. which I appreciated. I get nervous about hiring contractors in general because you just never know these days. This was a great experience and Tim will be my go-to guy in the future for sure.

Work was done as promised- workers were prompt and professional. I was impressed with the speed and quality of the work and especially the clean up. It was as if they were not there which is really hard to do with roofing. Tim is very professional and obviously cares about customer service.

Everything went super. Would use Tim again in a heartbeat. Always very friendly, professional and courteous. Maybe could haves spent a little more time hunting nails. The kids did find a few handfuls over the next couple of weeks.

We received a message that the roof was repaired. When I got home it wasn't quite to my expectations. I called the installer and he was back out the same day. He made sure I was happy with the work before leaving. The installer was very informative and took the time to explain what he was doing.

Tim, his foreman, & crew did a great job. They were respectful of my property by covering all plants with plywood and sawhorses. They rolled my yard, sidewalks, and driveway with magnets for much longer than I expected them too as they were at my home until almost 9pm getting the job finished. Honestly once they left there was no sign of any roofers even being on my property. They found a third layer of shingles that needed to be tore of when they arrived, which the additional charge was pretty reasonable considering the extra work. I also had a small dip in some rafters, which was reinforced from the attic and there is no sign of this ever existing. There also was slight damage to my rear gutters which they returned within two days to fix with no sign of the damage. A+ service. Easily recommend this company for anyone else looking for a quality crew.

It went very well. The crew was delayed because of the terrible heat, but Tim called and let me know exactly what was going on and when they would arrive. The project was completed in a timely fashion and I am completely happy with the result. The clean-up was excellent, the price was reasonable, and the roof looks great.

Everything went great! They were able to get our job in earlier than expected during the busy season. The job was completed in one day as promised. The roof looks amazing.

I made several contacts with Tim Wolfswinkel at DMAR the first of which was 7/16/2015 by phone and asked whether his company did work in my rural area of Iowa and was told yes, they did and he would be interested in giving an estimate. He requested me to send him an e-mail, which I did immediately that morning at 11:52, and to which I attached photos of problem areas on my roof. I was told that he probably would not do an onsite inspection unless it was absolutely necessary as he had a satellite software system which allowed him to see my roof without making a physical trip. I expected to hear from him over the weekend with an e-mail estimate, but did not. Finally, on Tuesday, 7/21/2015 I called DMAR again, and again the call went straight to Tim's phone and he answered. I asked how the estimate was coming, and was told he had been so busy he hadn't gotten to it, but was heading back to the office as we spoke and he would start it then, I should expect to have the estimate by 7/23/2015 and if I didn't see it in my inbox that day I should call. Thursday came and when no e-mail appeared by 1:30 pm I called again. Again I was told he had been busy, that he wanted to talk to me but couldn't just then because he had just pulled into another driveway and I should call back in one hour. I called back at 2:30 pm and the phone rang and went to voicemail. I did not leave a message, but thought I would try to call again in about 20 minutes, which I did. When I called again 20 minutes later the phone again went to voicemail, and I left a voicemail. message with my callback number. I received no return phone call within the next 22 hours, and called for the final time on Friday, 7/24/2015 and again the call went straight to voicemail. I dismissed Tim of responsibility to bid on the job. (UPDATE) Immediately after sending the e-mail telling DMAR to cease actions on my behalf I received an e-mail from Tim Wolfswinkel, telling me to check my voicemail, that he had attempted to call me twice. I had given Tim my contact phone number in my initial e-mail to him, and had left my contact phone number on each phone message I had left for him. He says that he autodialed the number on his phone and left a message (I use Skype for long distance calls, and cannot receive incoming calls on those numbers). So it may be that there was simply a miscommunication; however, when he stated he was too busy to check e-mail messages, or listen to phone messages, I decided I had surely made the right decision. He maintains he did nothing wrong; I maintain that he should have been attentive to the communications from his customer. If he is trying to take in too much business that he cannot properly service he does so to the detriment of his customers I wish him luck. I will not be one of those customers. I had explained that my roof was actively leaking during what has been a very wet weather period, and that payment would not be a problem, but that getting estimates to provide to my lender was time sensitive. This delay put me a week behind, and was very disappointing. However, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt as to the truthfulness of his claims, and have upgraded my review for a "fair" rating overall.

.we had some roof issues. We had a leak around our chimney. Another one in our skylight located in the bathroom. A major leak where the rubber membrane on our garage tied into the house shingles.The repaires were beyond our expectation with quality craftmanship and at a very fair price.

It was the best price and it was exactly what I wanted. They did a great job and also did a nice job on clean-up. You can't go wrong with this company. Tim will be very fair and has been the business for many year.

I was surprised to learn that the coupon/deal I bought was no longer honored by the company but they did some work for me that I needed done and applied the price of my deal to the work.

Prompt and detailed evaluation of roof and plan for fixing issues, work was not done due to us deciding to wait until spring/summer to complete this work.

Tim was fantastic from start to finish! We found him on Angie's list called to set up an appointment for an estimate and he was able to come out the same day (3/10/15), we were so impressed with him and his estimate, we gave the go ahead that same night. Tim was upfront and said it may take up to 2 months to do the work - but a cancellation occurred on the weekend and he called and asked if we would be ok with him coming out on Monday. We said sure, especially since our son pointed out where a leak had occurred in our new kitchen ceiling. Tim said they would be here between 7:30 and 8 a.m. on Monday morning. At 7:25 Monday morning Tim and his team showed up and started working right away, protecting our landscaping and just getting to it. I was impressed with how quickly they worked and how well they worked together. Tim said they would be done by 12:30/1 p.m. and I am sure they were. The roof looks so much better without the chimney's and the ripples (from the age) and the smooth lines with no roof vents, it almost looks like a different house. Add the new seamless gutters and you have 2 very happy homeowners. And it rained today - no leak in the kitchen! Absolutely Fabulous!
