Tim thoroughly examined my roof, measured it, gave me a quote and discussed what he would do to my house. The contract explained the major items he and his crew would do and we discussed some things he would do that were not in the contract. He lived up to them all! I am very pleased. The new roof looks GREAT! My wife and I have been in our house 28 years. The roof has never been done. I wanted to get the house reroofed as a matter of safety, security and looks. I also need to get an up-to-date roof for insurance reasons, too. I found the insurance company I've been with for all of those years in Des Moines was out of step with its premiums. In order to save $500 a year on homeowners insurance we needed a new roof to make the new, low cost insurance company willing to underwrite us and issue a policy. We now have that new roof. Tim's team is very professional and thorough. The house was done in a day. Not only did they remove three layers of old roofing, but they replaced all of the rotten decking, flashing, and installed a new roof venting system. It was all done and the clean up was excellent. Perhaps the exceptional professionalism and speed Tim's crew used is best illustrated by my next door neighbors. Over the fence this morning I asked her what she thought of my new roof. She said, "What new roof?" Then she moved to a part of her backyard where she could see it and said it was great. She had no idea it had been installed yesterday and she was impressed at how it looked. With that in mind, you can say Tim and his crew perform superior neighbor-friendly "stealthy" service. Tim's quote was in line with the others and I am very pleased I chose him to do our roof. Need a roofer? Call Tim. I'm very happy I did!

Tim came out and took a look at the roof. I was a little concerned that my roof might need to be replaced because there are slight dips in the roof where the 4'x8' wood has dipped in the middle. Tim explained that this was due to inadequate venting, causing heat+moisture to collect under the roof. This moisture then gets into the wood and slightly weakens the board, causing it to dip a little. He didn't think the roof needed to be replaced but did suggest we consider adding some vents. His analysis was that there weren't enough vents on the roof, and this was easy to verify comparing my roof to my neighbor's roofs. In the end, he offered me a couple different options, just replacing the boots, replacing the boots and adding some additional vents. I went with just the boots for now. The repair stopped the water from leaking in as it had been.

We live in a now 2-year old house that was damaged by hail after the first year. We had our insurance inspector come out and declared our roof to be a complete loss... but he also noticed that the wearing on the shingles wasn't right and looked to be a manufacturer defect. He recommend we have somebody look into that to possibly offset some of the replacement cost. We called several of the top rated roofing companies (always using Angie's List) and the most professional, punctual, and courteous of the companies that responded was deWit Roofing - and it wasn't even close. We got quotes from the top 5 rated companies and the prices were all comparable - but the other 4 all tried to sneak in extras and none were interested in taking time to actually help us make an informed decision. To us, service is of paramount importance when picking a service provider. Not only was Tim from deWit incredibly professional, but he was the only one to show up on time, try to inform and educate us about various options we had and told us why he would or would not recommend certain things. Tim was incredibly nice and went out of his way to make several follow up trips at no cost to answer questions we had. Furthermore, Tim was nice enough to handle most of the warranty resolution process even though the shingle manufacturer was one he doesn't use or recommend. In total he came out to our place about 6 times on his own dime to make sure we were taken care of. And to top it off, he called back several times in the months after installation to check in on us. We buy almost all of our goods and services online (thousands of purchases) and I never take the time to write a review, but deWit has earned it in every way possible.

Tim, from deWit, met with my husband the 28th of October. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. They agreed to have the work done by Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving went by and my husband then called on December 9th to see if we were still on their schedule. Tim called back on December 10 to say he had a crew on their way. Tim did apologize for the lateness of getting to our project stating that the weather was a factor. A call to postpone the work is all we were asking for. We don't expect anyone to work in frigid weather. The rating of a B in both punctuality and responsiveness was based on no call. The original work order called for replacing 5 vents instead of 8. The original price was $875. Tim was very accommodating when we asked to have additional vents put in.

It was done quickly and the quality of the work was excellent. They cleaned up very well. They were eager to please and take care of any additions we asked for. They also made recommendations to us for some other landscaping we needed done. The landscaping was done very well also.

Very well, very fast and the new roof looks amazing. This company had done roofs for several of our neighbors, so we knew how they worked. We got several quotes, and this was not the lowest, but not highest either. They did not leave ANY debris, and owner was on site more than once. Very nice guy.

Tim was very professional and the work that was done appears to be done well. There was some confusion as to what his crew was to do originally and only part of the work was initially done, but in the end Tim made everything right and was very easy to work with.

It went very well. Because we have had such a rainy fall, it was hard to them to get the work done, but Tim was very communicative throughout the whole process. The day his crew arrived, Tim called to make sure everything was being done that we had agreed upon. I asked him to stop over after his crew was finished to take a final look and he agreed to do that. I felt he was honest and had a reliable crew.

the crew arrived, ready to begin work. They were very efficient and each knew their task to complete. Tim was on site and caught the error that the subcontractor delivering the shingles had delivered the wrong color. Back they went and the correct order promptly delivered. On when the work with even this error on the part of the distributor (NOT DeWit Roofing) never impacting completion in 12 hours at 90+ degrees! I appreciated that there was no loud playing music and yelling back and forth and the only sounds were air hammers and the air compressor working. Highly, highly recommend De Wit Roofing. Nice to know there is still good quality and expert crews out there at reasonable prices. Well done! Hats off!

All around great company and had a great experience all around. Tim, the owner, was extremely easy to work with- did a same day estimate and was very thorough with what all would be done as well as very honest on what needed to be done. I met with several roofing contractors and DeWit seemed to be the most detail oriented and trustworthy. The team arrived at 7am and finished the roof on our house and garage in less than a day and a half. All of the workers were extremely hard working and only took a few short breaks, not to mention they worked until the sun went down. Tim was on the site almost the entire time, and was available through text, phone and email at a moments notice- this is not something I have found with any other contractor. I would recommend DeWit to anyone and everyone, I still cannot believe the amount of work that was accomplished in such a short amount of time. Thank you again!

Many roofing/siding companies can get the job done. What impressed me most about Dewit was Tim Wolfswinkel's responsiveness, trustworthiness, and follow-through. My roof was damaged by lightening, which left a 2' x 2' hole. In spite of a full schedule, Tim made arrangements to come to my house across town the morning I called. While we surveyed the damage, I asked Tim to give me his opinion on my 18 year old roof, whether it was going to be needing replacement soon, as many of my neighbors in my development had recently re-roofed their homes. Tim told me he thought it was good for another five years which impressed me because one of my neighbor's roofers had told me I should probably take care of my roof this summer. Tim was clearly not looking to make another buck, like many contractors do. That impressed me. I also had a gutter and siding issue that needed to be addressed and while Tim's focus is roofing, his crew does do siding work. So Tim arranged for the crew to come back during a break in their roofing schedule, which suited me fine. They did a good job overall and I'm pleased. Every step of the way, Tim was communicative and followed-through on what he said would happen. I highly recommend Tim and Dewit for any roofing needs you may have.

Prior to me emailing Tim requesting a tear off and re-roof bid, I not only calculated the number of squares, other materials, and labor, I calculated my own bid. I come from two generations of construction and have done construction myself. I emailed Tim in great detail of what I needed for a new roof. The day we met at my home, he was respectful and seemed impressed I knew what I was talking about, you see, I?m a woman. He told me he would not remove the existing gutter guard as he didn?t believe it could be saved and re-used if removed. Therefore, we came up with another plan and I agreed. Tim presented me with a bid the same day and was very close to what I calculated. I signed the contract and we set a date for 3 weeks. He was extremely good with keeping me in the loop with weather delays and only had to push me back 2 days, still within same week originally scheduled. No decision was made about the type of ventilation until a few days prior, so we had a discussion and agreed on box vents. The big day: I was very impressed with his crew - FANTASTIC! They were very easy to work with, very organized, and did a great job keeping the jobsite clean during and made sure everything had been picked up prior to leaving. Tim was the 5th Roofing Contractor I contacted. I selected him for these reasons; 1) he respected me for being a woman with knowledge in the field, 2) he was honest with me with my gutter guard concerns, 3) he didn?t try to up sale me for something I didn?t need, 4) he was easy to have a discussion with, 5) he recycles the old materials that not only saves the customer dump fees but our planet, and 6) he had the lowest bid (this is not the most important reason for myself). I don?t impress easily when it comes to contractors but I had a great experience with Tim and his crew! I don?t always recommend but I will for DeWit Roofing. I asked Tim for business cards so I may tell others and hand them out and I have.

Exceptionally. They were there on time and didn't quit until they were done. They came back the next day just to make sure they cleaned up everything because it was getting dark when they cleaned up. Then they called just to make sure I was happy with everything they did. If I was to have this done again I would not even consider anyone else.

He came out to perform service but I have a roof made of materials on the back side that his company doesn't handle.

I wished I had used deWitt roofing 4 years ago. Tim came out and looked the roof over and knew what was wrong right away. His crew came out when Tim said they would. Once they started in Tim had me come up on the roof to show me what the problem was the last roofer put flashing over the flashing then caulked over it. They spent the whole day making sure it was done right. He will show up when he says he will. Very professional and will follow up with you. So don't use some fly by night roofer to try and save money have it done right the first time with deWitt roofing.

Their work is excellent and they are easy to communicate with. We will use them again.

Tim came out and gave me an estimate to roof my house and gave me an estimate right away. He suggested doing some things that would give my attic better ventilation that was part of the estimate. The other people I got estimates from were going to completely do away with the vents that were there or leave them where they were (and were not installed properly when I last had my house re-roofed). He did the job in a very timely manner and his crew was very professional and courteous and did an outstanding job of cleaning up the area when they were done. He came in with the lowest bid and I feel he went the extra mile to do it correctly. As far as the roof itself, I'm sure the crew installed it correctly, but it will take time to make sure there are no leaks and stands up to strong winds. In my dealing with Tim, I am confident that if I do have a problem he will correct it immediately.

deWit Construction and Roofing were extremely flexible, they could get in, they worked up in pretty cold weather and the work that they did was very quick, professional. They were very reasonable for what they did.

When we first contacted the company one of the owners came to our home the same day, reviewed work to be done and gave us an estimate. When the date was set to perform the work, the crew arrived early in the morning (at the specified time) and set about putting down tarps around the whole house to catch any nails or shingles that didn't get into the dump trailer. They were very efficient in doing the work and very good at clean up. We would definitely recommend this business! The estimate was right on the money. We had contacted other contractors, one of which never bothered to call back.

Outstanding work. Outstanding character. Outstanding service. We've had our fair share of contractors over the years. Some good, some bad; and I tend to be quite h****** these folks. But Tim Wolfswinkel at DeWitt Roofing surpassed even my very high expectations. After gathering multiple quotes for a roof replacement, we hired Tim without hesitation. His bid was reasonable and his reviews on Angie's List were superior . So hiring him was an easy decision. But what really surprised and pleased me was the level of his service, professionalism, friendliness and character. Aside from the roof, he even repaired some trim problems we had on our porch and did very solid work on this as well. I called one morning to ask him to come out and take a look at our roof. He arrived a few hours later, spent a good deal of time looking over our roof and calculating the quote. I appreciated that he didn't rush through the visit or try to 'upsell" us on features we really didn't want or need. He was genuinely concerned that we get the right roof at the right price. I've never met a contractor who was more concerned for the customer's satisfaction than his own financial gain. But this is exactly how Tim handled himself throughout the quote, installation and follow up. I like to know exactly what to expect and how the job was to be done, so I called Tim several times before the job was done on various questions. He was always patient, very good at explaining his process and how the work would be done, and responsive to all my inquiries - both by phone and email. The crew showed up right on time, worked hard throughout the day. The spent a lot of time cleaning up the yard and magnet-sweeping the entire property for nails and metal pieces, which was a big concern for our family. About a week after the roof was completed, I heard some animal noises somewhere in the walls or roof. It was hard to pinpoint the exact source, and I was concerned an animal had damaged the roof and gotten inside the walls. I called Tim and explained my concern, and he came over that afternoon to inspect everything. As it turned out, it seems it was just some birds playing or looking for food in the gutters, but we didn't know that at the time. Tim had already gotten paid, was on his way home on this particular Friday night, yet still came over to ensure that everything was still okay with the roof. He didn't have to do this - he'd already gotten paid. But his concern for our concerns endeared him to us even more. I proudly put my name alongside others who report glowing reviews on Tim and DeWit. I am very happy that we chose Tim and DeWit. And we will certainly call him again when we have additional work to do. Add us to the long list of satisfied clients who love Tim.

A must read! When we met with Tim to have him look at our roof we were extremely impressed with his knowledge, honesty, the options that he suggested, and Tim?s great priced bid. We had a contractor tell us that we had black mold in the attic and the whole roof had to be replaced. Tim took a good look at everything and let us know there was no black mold in the attic, the roof didn?t need replaced, and the roof just needed a few repairs. Tim gave us a great price on repairs for the roof plus Tim gave us a bid when and if we do need to replace the roof and it was a great price. So we told Tim that if the roof needs to be replaced that we will hire them do the job. We were so impressed with Tim and Tim?s crew. The whole crew was fantastic and extremely hard working! When crew arrived they all were professional, friendly, hard workers, they did an awesome job, and they had all roof repairs done within a few hours. I would definitely recommend deWit Construction & Roofing, Tim, and his crew to my family, friends, and to you who is reading this. Outstanding experience. Tim was great to work with. He spent plenty of time going through all aspects of the job and was very flexible with scheduling to get the job done within our time constraints. Price was very competitive and when you factor in that they were on time, on budget, and delivered on everything they promised, it was a great deal. Overall they were great to work with and would hire them again (and recommend them) without hesitation.
