We had a somewhat personal connection with Dan as my husband is also English, so it was quite enjoyable to meet him and have a chat. Dan arrived on time, was great to work with and probably stayed a bit longer at my appointment as we all had a nice chat and the British men enjoyed some tea and biscuits! Not your typical appliance repair appointment!

Overall, it was a nice experience and I will hire him again.

Dan was able to repair my Maytag dryer. The dryer is about 24 years old and needed a new belt. The part had to be sent in from Chicago, but arrived and was installed in a timely manner. Dan was courteous , efficient, and cleaned up after the work was done. I was very pleased that I did not have to replace the washer/dryer unit, especially since I had heard that the new version of this combo doesn't work as well.

My dryer wasn't providing any heat, and after two visits by another company, my dryer wasn't working at all. I contacted Dan due to his great reviews on AngiesList, and explained the problem to him. He was here the very next day, and he took the machine apart completely to find out exactly what was going wrong. It was fixed in very short order. Great job by Dan..

I called Dan because of his FB on AL and because AL reported another contractor referred a client to him. He made a point of coming out when he said he would even in the middle of a family illness--I never would have asked him to come out had I known this. But he said he came out because he told me that is what he agreed to do. He assessed the dryer and told me the motor died on the 18 mo old dryer I purchased from Lowe's, and that it would not be worthwhile to repair it, due to the cost. He referred me to Metro to purchase a used dyer, and gave me some recommendations. The chap seemed very knowledgeable, and is from merry ol' England, he is. Just too bad Dan couldn't fix this--at least he didn't leave me to hang out to dry. Cheers.

He was excellent about calling to let me know exactly when he would arrive. He educated me on how to remove the front panel in order to completely clean the lint trap. He also advised me of a safety hazard my venting system posed. I will definately call Dan if I need any further repairs.

Dan did an excellent job. He thoroughly checked the entire machine, not just the problem area. He made sure that all the parts that could have been leaking were in working order, so he did not have to unnecessarily replace anything. He also explained to my husband and I how to maintain the machine properly. I called late this morning and he was able to fit me in within 3 hours. Will definitely call him again. Highly recommend!

Dan is from the 'old school' if you know what I mean (no, he is not old and slow), which is great. I called Dan based on the Angie's List reviews (he wanted to know how I found him!) and he gave me a Saturday morning appointment just as I wanted. He did warn me that Whirlpool parts may not be readily available and that I may have to wait a few days after he came over and diagnosed the problem and decided on the exact parts needed. So, I made use of his first visit to get the dripping showers fixed. On his second visit, after fixing the washing machine, he also replaced a bad light switch for me (in a jiffy instead of the weeks that I would have taken). Waiting a few days for the parts was okay as the washing machine was usable - my wife just had to shut off the taps on the wall each time the washing was done.

Dan was apologetic with his findings. He was extremely courteous, very knowledgeable and price conscious. I would use him again and offer a strong recommendation.

Overall it went very well. He was very professional, honesty and came when he said he would. He is coming back to reinstall my dishwasher properly. While he was here he found that the original plumbing company that installed it 2 years ago had done a very shotty job. Wrong appliance hose (that wasn't even clamped off), wrong shut off valve (they installed one for a washing machine), electrical cover wasn't even put on correct ( one screw and it was dangling from that screw), drain line wasn't correct...the list just goes on and on. He suggested I try to get my money back. I called the company right away to tell them of these problems and all I got was the answering machine. I did leave a message so now let's see if I get a call back. Let alone my money refunded. I would recommend Dan to anyone for work they need done. I most definately will have him back to do more work for me in the future. I am very pleased and satisfied with his work.

Overall I would highly recommend Dan for large appliance repair, especially if you have a Bosch product. He may be the only serviceman in the Des Moines area that has the knowledge and expertise to repair Bosch. He is very polite and has good follow-through. He was also gracious and understanding when one of my dogs stole his tape.

Dan was patient because when he arrived the first time all of the coild were frosted over, and he was not able to do his tests. I paid him for his call price at that time, and he agreed to come back to finish the diagnosos once everything had unthawed. He did come back, and was able to do his tests and inform me of what the problem was. he did not charge anything extra for makeing the return trip

Dan is great. He is always on time and calls ahead. He is really professional and knows what he is doing.

I would most definitely call Dan again for any of the services he offers. If you are looking for service at a resonable price but are not willing to compromise on quality then call Dan. He really is the best!

Right before Christmas, our dishwasher suddenly stopped working. With a one-month-old and a toddler in our household, this was very stressful. This meant a lot of handwashing bottles and other dishes. We called one of the bigger appliance repair places in the Metro area. They sent a guy out who was pleasant enough and thought he diagnosed the problem as an issue with the control panel. Unfortunately they had to order the control panel so it would be even longer before our dishwasher would be fixed. No problem, we thought, because we were going out of town for Christmas for about a week. So we come back from our Christmas trip, and we've heard nothing from this company. I call back and the repair person tells me "Oh yeah, I meant to call you back because someone else had the same problem you were having and I got a new control panel for hers and it didn't fix it, so I'm not going to be able to fix yours." He suggested I call another one of the big companies on the Westside of town. Instead of calling them, I decided I would just get a new dishwasher. Fortunately, Dan came and looked at my dishwasher before we installed a new one. Dan actually pulled out my dishwasher - something the other repairman didn't do - and the dishwasher started running. Within minutes, Dan diagnosed the problem as an issue with the power cord. He discovered that the original installers had used the improper cord for the dishwasher. Dan had a new power supply cord with him and was able to fix the problem quickly. He also thoroughly checked over the rest of the components to ensure they were all in good working order. Finally, Dan gave us advice on cleaning and maintaining our dishwasher to ensure they continue working. As a family on a budget trying to stretch every dollar, Dan's services were extremely appreciated. He saved us hundreds of dollars repairing our dishwasher rather than buying a new one as we were about to do because no one else seemed to be able to diagnose the problem. Most importantly, Dan was a true professional. He worked hard the entire time he was at our house and did not charge us for any unneccessary parts or labor. He was also very kind and fun to talk to. As a non-handy person myself, he was also very kind in explaining the problem and how the appliance works. Hopefully we won't have any appliance malfunctions anytime soon, but if we do, we will definitely be calling Dan.
