He called before he came, did a great job. Realize that Dan traveled a ways to get to our town so I had a higher fee due to the mileage to and from his location (and he worked on two separate appliances). That was fine by me as there are not many folks in our area that do appliance repair.

I described the noise our dishwasher had been making. Dan listened, advised me what he thought would cause that, then proceeded to carefully take apart the innards of the dishwasher, found the problem, removed it, put it all back together, explained what he was doing & why as he went, tested the dishwasher, found it still had some vibration noise, then trouble shot & fixed that too. Before he came out, he advised me of costs up front, made sure I knew he doesn't take credit cards, and made sure I was comfortable first. He was honest, efficient, had reasonable rates and was up front about everything. He even gave me some tips that would assist me in future troubleshooting on my own. My dishwasher purrs quietly again. Thank you, Dan!

Everything went very smoothly. Dan knew exactly what he was doing on a wide range of items that needed to be done. All the work was cleaned up and Dan was very courteous about trying to clean and fix things outside when needed. He even fixed our sink plunger when we didn't tell him that it was broken. We would recommend Dan to anyone.

1. Dan was very professional. 2. He suggested using a different dishwasher soap, and suggested a Finish product to clean the insides of the machine, from the sludge that had built up from the caked on, culprit soap. 3. He suggested significantly increasing the water temperature of the water heater. 4. He provided advice on maintaining our Bosch dishwasher when other vendors did not have the experience in the Des Moines area to service a Bosch dishwasher. 5. He followed up with a phone call to see if things were working better with the dishwater?s functioning. 6. He suggested tips on keeping the water heater working in top form so that we don't have to immediately replace it. 7. Dan was polite and I would trust him in our home anytime, without us home, and is extremely respectful, intelligent, and common sense minded when in solving multiple plumbing problems.

Dan is very professional and thorough in his work. He knows what he's doing and will do a good job for you. I would ask him how much it's going to be ahead of time. I didn't ask the first time he came out, which was my own fault. He charged $128.00 to look at my washer and tell me what was wrong with it and that the electrical sockets in the basement needed replaced. He was there 30 minutes. It seemed a little high to me. On the 2nd visit he charged $250, but he was there close to 3 hours. He also didn't give a receipt for any of the work, but he seems like a nice, honest guy. Overall, I was very satisfied with his work and would highly recommend him.

Although I was hopeful for a quick and cheap repair, given the appliance age the odds of that was about the same odds as winning the lottery. Dan confirmed the dryer needed to be scrapped unless I wanted to part with a lot of money. He even helped move it outside and gave recommendations on brands he considered to be of reasonable quality. He even offered to respond should I call him with questions on potential purchase of a dryer. I will most definitely hire again.

My dryer quit working. I assumed it was the belt. After Dan looked at it, there was much more wrong with it and parts had to be ordered before he could fix it. He quoted me a price for the parts and labor and contacted me as soon as they came in. He had to disassemble the whole dryer to fix the faulty parts. He replaced the parts, put on a new belt, and cleaned the inside of the dryer, which he said was a fire hazard. After he was done, you couldn't even tell he had been there and the final cost was exactly as he had quoted me. I was very pleased with his work.

We had had a storm and had several power surges, our refrigerator is a built in so anytime we can fix it we will, we pretty much knew it was not repairable it was not working had quit on both freezer and refrigeration side but wanted to make sure. Dan did several test on it to make sure and some little extra's hoping he get it going for us. Dan, was very polite and explained to me what he was doing and what exactly happened on what caused the problem. I would use him again called him one day he was here the very next day.

We called Dan on a Sunday and he showed up on Monday to fix our refrigerator. He was professional, knowledgeable and just a really nice guy. He did everything he could to get the problem fixed as quickly as possible. The price was very reasonable too for all the work he did, time he spent and the extra driving all over for parts. We highly recommend him.

Dan did a great job, fixing a very old washer/dryer unit in only about an hour. He also handled wiring my ceiling fan, figuring out some complex wiring on the way. He was friendly, prompt, and professional the whole time.

One morning we woke up to find our refrigerator had stopped working over night.. We used Angie's List and chose "Dan Can Fix It". We called early morning, and Dan was at our home late morning. He assessed the situation. He could replace a part, but he could not guarantee it would solve the problem. We would have to pay for the part regardless which was fair to me. Doing this was much cheaper than replacing a refrigerator. He left to go purchase the necessary part and returned promptly. The replacement of the part fix the refrigerator! Dan was very knowledgeable, polite, professional, pleasant, personable . We are so pleased to have found him and his vast array of understanding and fixing many appliances. We will always call him when need be!!! He was great!!!

He diagnosed the problem quickly and was very honest about the cost of fixing/replacing the fridge. He was very good.

Dan took the dryer apart, found a belt that had slipped, put the belt back on, put the dryer back together and told me how to avoid having that happen again. He did not charge me extra for working on a Sunday. Dan was very prompt at returning my calls and I was able to schedule service right away. He speaks with an Australian accent and is very courteous, prompt, and helpful. He also installed a cold water bidet in my downstairs half bath. It works great and only took him about 15 minutes to install!

This is more of a review to help people who would be wasting their time calling this company than it is about anything else. It's not to say that the service wouldn't have been great... But we needed someone to fix a refrigerator at a rental property and the only way we could do it with these folks was to find a way to get him a check or cash in advance. As a landlord, it just wasn't convenient. Had to call someone else. If you're like we are, you don't do checks and cash... You'll have to find another source. A suggestion to the company: I'd get a Square card reader. It costs you 3%, but you won't lose business to folks who accept credit cards. And, you might deal with less NSF checks. Wish we could have worked with a smaller business owner on this but we had to keep searching.

Called Dan Can Fix It on a Sunday, reached him, and scheduled for the next day. Dan was early by 20 minutes, came in to look at our fridge, took temperature readings, poked the back of the freezer and assessed that the defrost was not working. He then said that something else must be wrong, otherwise the freezer would still be freezing fine, estimated a total fix at $800-900, and suggested a new fridge. He then charged me $80 for a fifteen minute visit. Next day we had Mike from Ed Ware Appliances in Ankeny come out to look at it with the idea that we could get a replacement fridge from him if need be. He actually took the fridge apart, found a faulty defrost timer, defrosted the coil, and declared it fixed.

Called Dan about the problem and left message. He responded and set date when he could come. On his first trip, he came close to dinner time, which was kind of inconvenient. He listened to the refrigerator noise, fiddled with something underneath the unit and stopped the noise. I paid him and he left saying "be sure to call me if this doesn't work." Within an hour or two, the unit starting buzzing again, this time louder than before. I called the next day and he said he would be back out. On his second trip, Dan got caught in construction traffic and called me saying he would be late. It was well into our dinner time so I asked him to reschedule the appointment and asked him to call me the next week. The following Monday, by noon, I hadn't heard from Dan yet, so I called him and asked when he could make it. He said the next MORNING, so that's when he came. Dan put some foam packing in the bottom of the unit and I have not heard the noise since. It's been 3 days. Dan did not charge anything additional to return and fix the unit. I am happy with the outcome of my experience with "Dan Will Fix It." I would hire him again. He lives 40 minutes from my house, so I know it was expensive for him to drive here 3 times. He didn't arrange the appointment times very well, but I'm sure it was because of the distance to my house and his trying to coordinate with other appointments. Dan knows his stuff about appliances. Any other "major" appliance firm would have charges me $50 or more for each trip. Dan's a solid citizen and a professional.

Let me make this very simple. Dan CAN FIX IT! In the case of the clothes washer the question became did we want to put nearly $300 into a new motor for a very old machine? The short answer is no. We did not. But that said, Dan told me the motor windings were shot and the only way to fix in a way that made economic sense was to buy a new clothes washer. That's what we did. The dishwasher was another story. I'd had it looked at by another "repairman" some months ago. This first man pronounced the machine fit. We just needed to change the amount of dish soap we used (less) and to run CLR through it to remove lime built up in the machine. This first man did not take anything apart. Dan started by examining the dishwasher and then he troubleshooted the machine. He removed panels and internal guides and discovered a severe "gunk" blockage.. Water could not move through the machine because of this vile, sticky buildup. He advised me never to use CLR because that will cause rubber hoses and washers to shrink and cause damage (use apple vinegar instead). He cleaned out the gunk and found another water blockage. He ordered a new impeller and came back to install it. All in all, Dan is the man! Would I use him again? Absolutely! Would I recommend him to someone else? I already have.

Very friendly and knowledgable about my LG front load washer. Unfortunately just the cost of the parts would equal a new washer. Dan let me know what to expect and even mentioned some do's and Don'ts of front load washer use that I wasn't aware of. I would call again for other repairs on my other appliances.

I called Dan and was able to secure an appointment that worked with our schedule. He appeared on time, very cordial and got right to the issue at hand. He explained what the problem was and what might have caused it. He found a replacement part in the Des Moines area. he went to get it, came back, installed it and checked to make sure it worked before he left. I was a little surprised at first at the cost until I realized that he made 2 trips (one for the initial appointment and one to source the part) plus he knew what he was doing - I sure would not have, so it was worth every penny. Remember this - he knows what he is doing, if you don't (and I didn't) there is a cost to access that knowledge. Plus, he was less than a few "over the phone" quotes. Dan is very personable and tried to make sure we knew what he was doing and what had likely caused the problem. Given a need, we will call Dan again without hesitation.

My front load washer was not working and I called Dan, He was out the same day, searched all over town for the part, found it, and put it in the same day. He was very pleasant and got the job done in a timely fashion!

I had to leave for a doctors appt. so I went over all that I wanted done, Dan made notes and completed to tasksto my satisfaction before I returned home.

Dan determined that our icemaker was out of sync. He was able to locate a replacement in town on the same day and returned later in the day to install it, working into the evening. He was very efficient, professional, and polite. Well-experienced in many types of home repair, he was able to help with repair of our stovetop as well. When some parts he ordered will arrive, he will be putting those on the stovetop as well. I will gladly hire Dan again to fix appliances when they need fixing.

Dan arrived on scheule and quickly diagnosed the problem, our problem was solved within 30 minutes. Will definately use his services in the future...
