+ -1 moreJohn was knowledgeable, attentive, professional, and endlessly patient with our questions. At every stage of the process we felt he was looking out for our interests. He was recommended to me by a coworker, and I highly recommend him to anyone buying in this area. We absolutely love our home, and expect to be there 5-10 years. When we do decide to sell or move, we definitely plan to call John to market the house and help us into the next one.
Description of Work: John Sharkey guided my husband and I through the process of buying our first home. We met with him to describe our needs and desires, we viewed 8-12 houses with him, and he saw use through the closing process. As he knew that we were new to the process, he walked us through steps with our financial arrangements and even transferring city services to our name. Since we were fairly new to Iowa City (as well as to the buying process) he was a great resource for helping us see different areas of the city so that we could make a good choice about the best location for us.
