. He was wonderful. He gave us a great quote and worked hard to save money whenever he could (ie using our existing paint whenever he could. He worked around my strange houirs and always came when he said he would. He takes great pride in his work. He also shouwd me how to fix small areas so I wouldn't have to call him back so soon. He also painted and repairesd my front door which was in horrible shape, It looks amazing! All in all, we were thrilled with his work and will use his company whenever we need to.
Description of Work: We used Clover Painting (Alan) to repaint much of the interior of our home and our front door. He fixed alot of drywall ncks and cracks and also repaired larger areas. He repainted 2 rooms with completely different colors, and used a different type of paint on others that had looked really bad. (ie semi gloss on our bathroom and stairway to make cleaning easier. He also showed me the right way to clean the walls in the future when it was needed.

Alan helped me out at the last minute when another painter couldn't finish the job. The walls look good, and he worked with me to reduce costs where possible. (I removed face plates, spackled, etc.)
Description of Work: Painted entry, main living areas of new home including accent wall

The job was horrible. He painted around my curtain rods instead of taking them down. He got paint all over the light switch and outlet covers. He got paint all over my brand new carpeting. The carpet where it meets the wall in all of my rooms are ruined. I pointed it out in the beginning. He got paint all over my bathroom fixtures. He missed a spot behind my toilet. When he came in to bid the paint job, I asked if he would be using a primer as the original paint was very dark. He stated that he would not need to because the paint was of high quality. Of course it did not cover the darkness. When I asked him about it, he said that he would have to charge me double if I wanted for it to be better.
Description of Work: I hired him to paint two bathrooms and two full bathrooms.

Response from CLOVER PAINTING
Sorry to hear that the customer is dissatisfied. We will do our best to address the issues she has pointed out. When approaching a repaint, especially a color change, all previously painted surface areas need to be painted to reflect the color change. In older homes, especially, outlet covers are painted from a previous paint job. Not sure why one would paint an outlet cover, but there must be a reason because we encounter painted outlet covers on various repaint jobs. If the previously painted outlet cover is not painted the new color, then the outlet cover reflects the old color and we are called back to paint the previously painted outlet cover the new color. On this particular project, approximately half the outlet covers were previously painted. When curtain brackets are installed, sometimes there is no backing to support the screw, except the wall. If the screw is taken out, the screw hole becomes larger and when it comes time to reinstall the curtain bracket, the screw is loose – which makes it difficult to re-attach the curtain bracket securely. The painter does not remove the curtain bracket for this reason. The furniture was moved away from the walls. There were dust bunnies behind the furniture – indicating the furniture has been sitting in its location for a while, how new is the carpet? The baseboard trim was wiped down and then painted. Sometimes paint gets on the dust, which stays behind on the carpet. It is difficult to paint dusty baseboard trim. Standard operating procedure is once the furniture is moved away from the walls, it is covered with plastic and then the floor covering (carpet, vinyl, etc.) is covered with dropcloths. The painter was told the room was ready for painting by the customer. When painting a bathroom, the painter takes down the towel bars if possible. There is a little screw on the bottom of the chrome plated towel bars. Wood towel bars are another issue. Once the screw is installed in the screw hole, there is a plug that is installed over the screw. Trying to remove this plug is nearly impossible without damaging the towel bar. In these instances, the painter paints around the wood towel bar. When repainting bathrooms, painting behind the toilet is difficult when the toilet is installed to close too close to the wall, making it impossible to get access behind the toilet. The customer bought and provided all the paint for the project. We just provided labor for the painting project. The customer’s painting project was estimated with two coats of paint, since paint colors were not determined at the time of the estimate. Talk about primer was brought up, but the customer was buying the paint. The day the painter arrived at the customer’s residence to start, the paint was in the condominium hallway in a pile. The painter had to have the customer help organize the paint as to what colors were there. We are a little surprised about the customer’s complaint. We know she scheduled her painting project on her consecutive days off from work because she wanted to be home. It surprised us that she greeted us in the morning and then we never saw her the rest of the day. The customer even paid us before we were finished with her painting project. With payment in hand, the painter was given the impression the job was satisfactory.
