Pingel Mudjacking

Concrete Leveling

About us

The mudjacking process that Pingel Mudjacking uses works to raise and support settled and uneven concrete by injecting grout under the settled area. This is done by drilling 1 5/8" holes through the surface. Grout is pumped through the slab to float slab in proper place. After mudjacking is complete, holes are patched and textured to match the existing concrete as closely as possible. Leveled concrete that is at least 10 years old, can be expected to stay in position until the end of its useful life.

I had a new drive poured several years ago and it has slowly dropped to slope towards my basement wall. I had water sliding down my basement wall after every heavy rain then coming in the house under the block. He arrived with his crew on time and completed the job in great time. He took the time to be sure the job was done well. He did not hold back on the amount of product he used. I felt like Mike and his crew worked hard to resolve my problems with the drive and sidewalk. We have had a couple very heavy rains since the work was completed. I have had no water in the basement since the work was completed.
Description of Work: Raised the back steps, sidewalk and part of my drive next to the house.

When I contacted Mike he was very friendly and professional. We scheduled for him to come out sometime during the week. It was not an emergency and time was not an issue. He came out to look at the needed repair in a timely manner even without the scheduled time frame. After he looked at our needs he met with and reported that what we needed was something that really didn't need his services. He told me that the concrete hadn't sunk but had moved away from the home due to the drought of 2013. He explained many homes had the same type of problems after the drought. He then said the concrete most likely stopped moving. He suggested that we simply tuck point where the bricks were coming away from the exterior of the house. He even mentioned a few companies that if needed could assist us further. He was honest, professional and friendly. If we need his services (raising concrete slabs such as sidewalks, driveways, steps and such) we will use him.. You can appreciate a person that gives it to you straight even if it means they don't get the business. Top Notch.

I previously gave Pingel a failing grade for lack of responsiveness. I recontacted Mike to see if we could still possibly get the work done. He explained that he had several hundred calls in a very short period of time and apologized for not responding. Once we got that behind us he was very prompt and gave a fair estimate. He did the work as promised, when promised, and did a good job.

Wouldn't know as he has never gotten back to me.
Description of Work: Nothing! I called Pingel over a month ago and he said he would drive by my house and have an estimate to me by the first or middle of the next week. over 3 weeks went by so I called again and left a message and then another week past so I sent an e-mail through their website. Noted that several people have commented on how they never get any response. Appears that Pingel might actually do good work once they get around to it but over a month and absolutely no response is unacceptable.

I called and spoke to the owner on a Monday, told him what I was wanting done and he said he'd stop by to look at the job on Friday or Saturday. The weekend went by and then the next so I called again. He said the same thing that he'd be by the next weekend to look at the job. More than a month later and I have yet to hear or see of the owner.

I was looking for someone to come out to take a look at my driveway. Its a fairly new driveway(2 yrs) but have noticed that there was some sinking of the ground near the driveway. Driveway started to sink a bit and crack along one of the panels seam. After looking through Angie's list, this company looked to be the highest rated, so I contacted them and 2 other companies. I called and left a message 4 days in a row and went to the website as well to leave my contact information and request for an estimate. None of the messages or email was ever returned so I can not say if the price was right, or if the work was done appropriately. I can't say why this company did not contact me as I left several very friendly messages...who knows. I was really looking forward to meeting with someone from this company as they seemed to have several satisfied customers, but I will never know. I own my own business and know that customer service and responsiveness to your customers should be your #1 priority.....or you will soon be out of customers so I am very disappointed from that aspect of this business. The other 2 companies that I called for estimates from were very responsive with phone calls and follow up emails confirming appointments...very professional....wish Pingel was.

Very pleased with the work that was done. Much cheaper than having the concrete replaced. Not perfectly level the pretty darn close.
Description of Work: Measured the work area, provided an estimate. Had to wait for the weather and other jobs in the area to make the trip economical. Drilled inch and a quarter diameter holes in the driveway, pump concrete under pressure, and raised driveway panels to level. Was not home at the time when work was completed. one panel was low approximately half an inch. They came out and fixed it the following day for no charge.

Mike and his crew were wonderful! We had Mike come out to give us an estimate on the back patio only (not considering the front of the house) and Mike suggested we have the driveway and stoop done to help with drainage. He said he could do the patio for $450 (it was a BIG job! The patio had sunk over 6 inches right in the corner where the patio met two corners of the house and was cracked in several places.) He said he would do the driveway, which had sunk 4 inches and the front stoop which was had sunk several inches for an additional $350. We felt both prices were fair considering how far everything had sunk and the size of the area in which they would be raising. Mike even took an area of the driveway that was broken up in several places and raised those to the best of his ability. While Mike was here I added the service entry door slab and the sidewalk to their "to do list" and Mike only charged me an extra $50. When the job was done Mike went around our house giving us suggestions as to where to add more dirt to help with drainage. I felt Mike went above and beyond what was expected. I would definitely use him again (although we already had him take care of all problem areas in one shot) and would recommend him to all my friends and family. Definitely an A+++

E-mailed for a quote on Angie's list on a weekend. Mike responded the same day via e-mail that he would stop out sometime the following week and provide an estimate. I didn't need to be home. He didn't make it that week, but came out the next Monday and called me with the quote and followed up by e-mailing the quote in writing the same day. I approved and he completed the job 2 days later on Wednesday. Total repair took a little over an hour. Once the driveway was level, there was still the remaining crack to seal. Mike provided the name of someone that could do that part for a reasonable price if I didn't want to do it myself. I followed the same process and got a quote from the other local business on Angie's List that does mudjacking. Their quote for repairing the same ~30 ft crack was nearly 3 times as much.
Description of Work: Repaired a crack that went across the entire driveway(~30 feet across 3 sections of concrete) in front of my 3 car garage. The driveway on one side of the crack had sunk and was at least a 1/4 inch lower than the other side. Cost for that was only $280. Then for an additional $100, leveled my front step and the other 5 sections of my driveway that didn't butt up to the garage. These sections didn't have cracks in them, but were not level to the other sections of the driveway they butted up against.

He arrived on time to give a quote and said they would follow up with a written quote which I did not receive. When I contated them to follow up, there was no immediate response, but within a couple of days I came home and the job was done (I did state that if the price remained from what was verbally quoted, I wanted it done). It was a big job, the open space under the concrete was bigger than we anticipated. They did the job well and stuck to the quoted price.

My brother recommended Pingel Mudjacking, because he thought Pingel did a good job on his porch. I never met Mike, but spoke to him on the phone. He came to the house while I was at work and left an estimate for $375 on his business card, which he left on my front door. I approved his estimate and he came within two weeks to do the job. The driveway and sidewalk are much improved. I waited for the bill, but nothing came. After six weeks or so I called and left a message asking when I might receive a bill. Again, no response, so I tried again a few weeks later. This time I actually reached Mike. He said he would send an invoice and he did. There was a message on the invoice thanking me for my honesty and letting me know he'd reduced the price by $50! Honesty paid with kindness; that impressed me a lot!

I called Mike Pingel and arranged to have him stop by for an estimate. He took down my address and the details of what I was looking for. He stopped by on his own and then sent me an estimate via email. I agreed to proceed with having him do the work. He told me he would work me in sometime in the next week or two. He showed up in the 2nd week and did the work without me even being here. I then received an invoice in an email. It was very easy working with Mike and I will be using him again for some additional work in the future.

Excellent work and great customer service. Due to the rains, we had a bit of wait, but well worth it. Our front step had sunk probably 6 or 7 inches over the years. Mike and his crew raised not only the step, but the sidewalk up to the front door and repaired the crack between the step and the front stoop. Great job!

Pingle Mudjacking was WONDERFUL! We needed our front stairway raised ASAP as we were needing our rental inspection approved to allow a nice family to move in within a week, What a challenge with all the rain we have had and every cement worker was extrememly busy catching up! I called on Friday the 7th and they were there Monday morning to do the work right then. He provided an estimate over the phone, and the steps were raised within an hour. Rental certificate was issues within 1 hour of the steps being completed and the family moved in ahead of schedule. What a lifesaver! I would highly recommend this company! What a professional! They were the best and I am so glad I checked Angie's list! I wouldn't have made it without Pingel Mudjacking completing the job so quickly!

Mike came and gave us an estimate on the step. We decided to have him do the work. Little did he know it would be his worst project of the year. Mike and his crew arrived one morning and started on the front step. They drilled the holes in the slab and stuck a long metal rod down the holes. They couldn't hit anything under the step. They then stuck a longer broom handle through the holes. They didn't hit any dirt through the holes along the house. They did hit dirt 3 or so feet down closer to the sidewalk. Mike called me out to take a look. He asked what we wanted to do. He figured he had enough material on his truck to fill the void. I told him to go ahead (looking back, I would have told him not to bother and we would have ripped the step out instead). They used the 4 yards of material they had on the truck. They left and came back with more. 6.75 yards later, the slab raised up. No, that's no typo (overall he's probably stuck 7+ yards of material down there). There was a giant void under the step. The actual cost was way more than what he had estimated. He gave me the price but insisted I only pay half because he had underestimated it. I did pay him the full price because it wasn't his fault there was a giant hole under the step. He was sure it would settle with all the new material under it and it did. He came back and put more material under it. He also caulked the back of the step along the house. He thought the caulk was gray but it turned out to be tan colored, which doesn't match the house. He assured me he would come back and go over it with a gray caulk that would match better. He didn't like the way the step looked and assured me he would be back to make it look better but he wanted to give it more time to settle. Several weeks later I called because I hadn't heard from him. He said they'd come at the end of the week. They did arrive that Saturday and raised the step again. My son was watching out the window and said they took out one of the landscape lights along the sidewalk. I assumed they moved it. They packed up and left without talking to me. After they were gone I went out to take a look at the step and put the light back in the ground. The light hadn't been removed, it had been broken. They used some of the gray self-leveling gunk to try and fix it so it would stand again but that clearly didn't work. I would have appreciated them letting me know they had broken the light instead of just running from the situation. I refrained from calling Mike because of the nightmare of the project and how he had worked to fix it. He did come back and fix the caulking. The light is why I gave him a B for professionalism. Otherwise he was fantastic to work with.

Mike Pingel and his crew came out and estimated that 6 of the sidewalk squares should be raised to solve the problem. He gave me an estimate of $300.00 which I agreed to. The work was finished within an hour and a half. It has rained twice since then and tno water or dirt has accumulated on the sidewalk. I am extremely happy with the job they did as I was worried about ice accumulating on the sidewalk and someone getting hurt this winter. I would definitely use this company again and make referrals to others for sidewalk leveling/mudjacking.
Description of Work: My front sidewalk was sinking in the area where a sewer line had been replaced a few years ago. Whenever it rained or snow melted, water would accumulate and dirt would wash down from the upper part of my yard.

The process was good, Mike was pleasant to deal with and they were quick to complete their work. We had a couple of quotes to replace the entire sidewalk and driveway and this solution was so much cheaper, with a perfectly useable outcome. A good solution for the repair of only sections of sunken concrete.
Description of Work: Leveled two sections of sidewalk that the City had "requested" we fix. Also leveled sidewalk approach to our front stoop, which was significantly sunken, creating much too large a drop off our front porch. Mike gave us a quick estimate, told us what to expect, and completed the work exactly as promised with excellent results. We were very pleased, and a little surprised, that they could level the sidewalk in front of our stoop, we didn't think they'd be able to raise the sidewalk that much. Very pleased, wish we had done it earlier.

Mike came out to give me an estimate the same day I called. He and his crew were able to perform the work the next day, which was important to me because I had a deadline. He did not require me to be present to perform the work, but I came home anyway to watch the progress. Mike warned me that raising the concrete slab might cause it to crack away from the adjoining slab. In that case, he said he would also raise that adjoining slab up to make sure the sidewalk slabs were still flush with each other. This did happen, and he actually had to raise all four sidewalk slabs between the driveway and the front porch until all were flush together. Evidently the entire sidewalk had settled. The end result looked fine and achieved my desired results of raising the front step. There were two gaps that were created between concrete slabs after the raising, so Mike filled them with a foam spacer and then polyurethane sealant. The end result looked good. There are holes that must be drilled in the concrete, but they are patched when done. His crew cleaned up the excess grout and no mess was left behind. The work was done in under an hour. Even though Mike had to raise more concrete than originally estimated, he still charged the amount he quoted. I was very satisfied with the entire process and would definitely call Mike again for any other concrete raising/leveling needs.
Description of Work: I have a concrete sidewalk and concrete front step leading to my front porch. The front step had sunk and needed to be raised up by 4 inches. Pingel Mudjacking raised the concrete slab and step up by 4 inches as requested.
