 + -1 moreOverall, it went very well. They redirected a portion of my gutters to get the water away from the house which is wonderful. They met with me after the gutters were installed and made sure I was satisfied with the work. After they had left, I noticed a couple of gutter screws/nails in my yard and a section of siding that had popped out during the installation of the gutter. They came out immediately and fixed the siding and went over the yard again for any more nails or screws. They definitely wanted to make sure I was satisfied.
Description of Work: Buresh replaced my gutters.

 + 0 moreWe had Buresh come do an estimate to replace some windows and fix a roofing issue. When the Buresh representative showed up he didn't seem like he was interested to work with us. Rushed through while looking at the windows. He also told me I couldn't get a certain style of windows b/c of the size. Which I thought was interesting considering all the other companies we got quotes from said it wasn't an issue. And the company we decided to go with just put the same style and size in one of their houses and offered for us to even see them and there were no issues. I think they told us that so we would have to go with the more expensive style. I also didn't like how we were not giving a quote at that time. Even worse, to get the quote we had to meet them at their office a few days later. I couldn't meet with them at their office to get the quote so my husband went on his own. My husband had to wait over 10 - 15 minutes of his schedule time to meet with the Buresh representative. My husband wasn't please with that since he was on his lunch hour. Their quote was the highest of all the other quotes we received. Next with our roofing issue. The Buresh representative said he would have his roofing guy come out on a certain date and time to see the issues and probably just fix them while he was there. Once again my husband left work early to make sure he was at home to meet this guy. Nobody showed up, never got a phone call or anything. We just decided at that point we were done trying to make things work with Buresh. I'm sure the windows would have been nice. It's frustrating because we had to work with a lot of companies to get quotes and Buresh had a really good rating. Maybe we just got them on their bad days. We have been trying to find a company we can build a relationship with because we have a lot of things we would like to do to our house in the next few years.

The work was well done and it only took a couple of hours on the day of the project. I appreciated the fact that they did not penalize me for only having one window done. My primary concern was finding a replacement window to match the existing/original wood windows still in place, and they did.
Description of Work: Replaced existing window and installed/replaced trim and wood shelf under window.

 + 1 moreWorking with Buresh Home Solutions was a thoroughly positive experience. They are not low priced, but you get what you pay for, maybe more, in satisfaction working with this company, from the people answering the phones to the men on the crews doing the work! The company keeps in excellent touch, and the men working on the projects are very personable and do excellent work. Eric did most of the work on the front deck and he was a perfectionist. Its way more beautiful than I expected; everyone who sees it is impressed. We worked together on any difficulties encountered with the emphasis being my satisfaction. We had crumbling front steps and a cement block patio; replaced with a sleek, beautiful dark brown deck approach to the front door. Eric built a deck that was much more beautiful than I would have imagined. Kudos to Brian Buresh for helping us pick the best materials for our purposes that gave us both strength and beauty. The windows; I'm love them! Worked closely with Brian on selecting the windows. I was more concerned about installation than windows as we had cheaply made and installed windows sold to us before by another company; and every fall I was having to seal every edge, nook and cranny around those windows, including around the woodwork. Learned a valuable lesson the hard way. The windows Buresh installed, are beautiful, well-designed, sturdy, and sincerely, "Thank you God," installed well, so the wind isn't blowing through around them. Had some really breezy, chilly, weather recently, and yes, the installation had been every bit what I was hoping for. Thank you Mike who headed the crew doing the windows. Again with Mike, had the experience of working with another person who wanted it done well, and took pleasure in seeing my satisfaction. And thank you to Dena and Jodi who kept in touch with us throughout the time Buresh was working on our home. Our project was only 3 windows and a deck, but you would have thought that our project was the most important one they were concerned about when they were talking with us. These folks at Buresh are a delight to work with!

Description of Work: We just obtained a bid from them to have a full tear off of our roof. The bid was higher than we expected but not overly high, just higher than we wanted to to pay at that time. We met with them at their offices and they met us promptly. The described the process and showed us examples of all materials to be used. The quote was well written, concise, and clear. The materials and technics they proposed to use are superior to many that I have seen. We were very happy with every step of the process. The only reason we did not use them at that time is because we were not quite ready to spend the money. I have no doubt, given the chance they would have a done a great job and we would have been very happy.

 + -1 moreI am thrilled with the work! I never once felt that anyone was trying to take advantage of me because I am a single woman who is uneducated about gutters. I wish I had located Buresh Home Solutions before I had to go through the less than desirable experiences with the other companies I originally contacted. I would definitely use this company again, and highly recommend them!
Description of Work: The gutters on two sides of my home were falling off the house. For years I had been pounding in the spikes that held them up, but the time came when it was no longer a viable solution. I tried to obtain estimates from two other companies. One company refused to give me a written estimate and broke repeated promises about delivering information, until they stopped returning my phone calls. The other company provided what they considered an estimate in 7 words on the back of a business card. Both of these dysfunctional companies wanted to charge me an arm and a leg for the work. I suspect they thought they could take advantage of a single woman who knew nothing about gutters. In my frustration I contacted Angie's List and discovered Buresh Home Solutions. Buresh had dozens of very positive and glowing accounts from homeowners who had received services, so I contacted them. My first clue that I was finally dealing with a fair and professional company was when Jody Buresh answered the phone in a professional and pleasant manner and answered all my questions in a responsible way. I agreed to get an estimate. Hugo and his assistant came to my home at their appointed time on the day I was told they would be there. Hugo spent time with me going over the job and pointing out the reasons for the work he believed was necessary, as some of the boards holding up the gutters had rotted, and the fascia was missing in one place. Hugo was pleasant, professional and helpful. I never felt like I was being treated like a naive single woman. He was very straightforward and taught me a lot. Hugo said he would provide an estimate the following day. Brian Buresh contacted me the next day, confirmed what work needed to be done and provided me with an e-mail confirming the price, to include the discount for having located his business on Angie's List. The price was less than either of the bad companies had quoted me. I was told the work could be done within a week. I received a phone a few days later asking if the following Monday would work for me. I was told Hugo and his crew would be there in the afternoon. Hugo and his crew arrived at 2:30 pm on the appointed day and contacted me first to let me know there were here, and confirmed the work to be done. They worked diligently and finished the work at 6:00 pm. Hugo came to the door again to show me the work and to discuss the costs, which were exactly what I was told they would be. I noticed that the crew had done a good job of cleaning up after themselves. The gutter color matched my home perfectly and looked like a professional job. The rotted boards had been replaced and a new piece of fascia had been added. I was told I would be contacted the next day to finalize payment. I was so happy with the work that I contacted Jodi Buresh and gave her my credit card information for payment before she could contact me. Again, Jody was extremely friendly and professional. I let her know that I was going to brag their company up on Angie's List and she was very pleased. Throughout all my contacts with Buresh Home solutions I felt that I received honest information from respectful people. I am extremely pleased and would definitely use this company again! I will tell all my friends and family members.

 + 0 moreThe overall job was great. They never left without cleaning up after themselves each night. Once they started, they didn't leave the job sight until the job was done. None of this, well something else came up so we won't be there. They were very dependable.
Description of Work: They took off my old composite deck, the maintenance free stuff you buy from Lowes. It kept molding. They built a new Cedar deck that is beautiful. It is 16 x 24, the railing really set the deck off great. They were punctual, cleaned up after themselves and finished each night at a decent hour so you didn't have to put with construction after you got home.

 + -1 moreI liked them but I guess I ended up not being happy. I was happy with the product but they went ahead and used me in an advertisement without me knowing about it. The neighbors told me about it. I wasn't really happy about that. They used my name even and quoted me and I did not think that was right. I don't remember ever signing anything saying that they could do that. If they would've called and asked me, I would've said okay. I did not like that part so much. They were prompt and they did what they said that they're going to do. So far the insulation seems to be working. It works in the summer but not so much in the winter. I am not really 100% happy with the product.

My house had its original windows casement windows and interior storm windows that had seen their better days and were not energy efficient in any way. Brian Buresh was very responsive with regard to what I wanted to accomplish in replacing the windows to in order to help modernize the house, but not detract from its overall character or appearance. Brian and his crew delivered a fair estimate and accomplished the work quickly. When there was a delay in completing the "trim work" for the exterior, they were very good about keeping in the loop about when they would be able to complete the job. Even though the price was probably higher than other outfits, the overall quality of work and attention to detail was worth every penny. I am fairly new to the Des Moines area, and relied on Angie's List in directing me to Buresh Home Solutions. As I have a number of other projects in mind for the future, I will keep Buresh at the top of my list when I need a contractor to do the job right.
Description of Work: Replace most of the house's original casement windows and interior storm windows with energy efficient double-hung windows suitable to a house this age and style, a 1931 Tudor Revival.

 + 0 moreWe hired Buresh Home Solutions for our basement finishing project. Our basement was totally unfinished - a blank slate from which to start. My husband and I pretty much knew how we wanted our basement to look and where we wanted the theater room, kitchenette, bathroom and family room to be, so we discussed those details with Justin who drew out the plans to make sure everything was correct. We had some existing issues to deal with regarding the placement of our kitchenette (having to work around ceiling duct work and electrical panels) but the finished project was gorgeous. We chose all of the finishes to match what we have throughout the rest of the house so that the basement wouldn't look like an 'afterthought'. Justin (project manager) and the rest of the team/subcontractors were great to work with and answered all of our questions along the way. We also requested some references before we started the project and the prior customers we spoke with were very satisfied with their work, and we are as well. My husband was very particular as to how he wanted things done, and Justin was very patient to answer all of his questions and ensure that everything was completed just as we requested. I was working from home at the time of construction (and was very pregnant as well), so needless to say the noise was sometimes a factor, but that could not be avoided and I knew to expect that. Justin would always let me know ahead of time when things were going to get particularly noisy (jackhammering the floor for plumbing, framing, etc) which helped me to plan my work day. They did a good job overall at cleaning up at the end of the day to minimize the overall mess, which we really appreciated. Our basement job was finished about 2 weeks before our baby was born, and we love the new space! It will be a great place for us to spend time as a family. We wouldn't hesitate to hire Buresh Home Solutions again in the future and would highly recommend them.

If they were running late, they were courteous enough to call me and tell me they were on their way. I thought they were very professional.

His estimate seemed quite reasonable to us, and was within the range of other estimates we had gotten. On the day the workman came, he was prompt, courteous, efficient, professional, and thorough. He explained what he did, and took care to be careful with my gardens and lawn. We were impressed with his work. We were quite pleased with the job they did and the price they charged. We would hire this company again in a minute. We have also recommended them to our friends.
Description of Work: Our gutters were cleaned and repaired, gutter screens (Gutter Rx) were installed on upper story gutters, and the downspouts were re-aligned and adjusted.

Upon review of my siding, he gave a rough estimate of what new siding would cost... on the spot. He then proceeded to let me know how to get the most from selling my home, explaining that my siding was not in too bad of condition. He made recommendations on where to make repairs and offered to have a handyman contact me. He obviously contacted the handyman (nice follow through) as the handyman contacted me several days later. I would highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: Owner was kind enough to come out and give me a budgetary quote. He was professional and offered advice on how to get the most from selling my home... even if he didn't get the work! He made recommendations and even had a handyman contact us to make the minor repairs he suggested. He was wonderful!

I'm fully satisfied with the outcome of this project and I would use them again if needed.
Description of Work: During the storm that blew through Iowa earlier this year, some siding was blown off, and my insurance adjuster also determined that I needed new shingles and gutters. I needed the siding to be repaired, and I needed a re-roof and some new gutters.
