Description of Work: They moved all major appliances, including hook up to ice maker and reinstalled after job was finished. Sanded and coated my floor with 3 coats of protection. Floors looked better than when they were put in. Very satisfied.

Description of Work: They came to inspect an old floor that had been under carpeting. Their opinion was it could not be refinished as had too many gaps in the boards. We decided not to refinish the floor. Seemed very competent, and.if we would have decided to do it, we would have hired them. |

Description of Work: Initially very nice meeting. The manager, Brian, was very professional and did his best to solve problems as they began to come up. For example they gave me an estimate to buff and coat. However they skipped the buff part and just coated dog hairs and dust into my floors. When I tried to reach the owner Gary he just blew me off because he was out of town. In fact I heard him on the phone with Brian in front of me say "I don't want to talk with him.". Gary also ignored the photos I posted above. The workers that attempted to buff and coat seemed to not care if they put all sorts of hair in my floor or when they sanded my kitchen the left edge marks from the sander.

 + 0 moreThey helped us purchase a beautiful Siberian oak hardwood. It was stained dark, but they agreed to remove the stain at no additional charge. When the dark stain was removed it revealed a lovely, varied wood pattern with light and dark colors. The installation took longer than expected because of the humidity in the air, but Barnum was in contact with us everyday, reporting on the progress and the work performed. When they encountered a problem they called us right away to come and look at it and helped us decide what to do. Everyone, from sales to installers, to follow-up were very professional. They showed us how we could save money by finishing and installing the base boards. They came out and installed the piece connecting to the carpet at no extra charge, when we discovered we couldn't do it. I highly recommend working with this company. They are creative, dependable, hard-working, solicitous, and friendly.
Description of Work: Barnum helped us select the right flooring to meet our needs. They were very conscientious when we told them we couldn't afford the top of the line hardwood flooring. They gave us a very good discount on some flooring that they were discontinuing. They came out and measured and gave us an accurate rate quote. They worked with us to schedule the installation. They installed the flooring in about 4 days and followed up with contacts and extra help.

 + 0 moreThe only problem I had is that both times there was very minor damage to my refrigerator finish. The first time was a scratch, the 2nd time a dent. I am pretty picky so it may be another person would not notice. The only other issue is that in just a few places, there is hair that got caught under the finish. You would not notice it unless you were cleaning the floor on your knees. Overall, it was just a GREAT experience. The one thing we did to our house that turned out fabulous!!!!! We do not miss the carpet at all.
Description of Work: They refinished my kitchen floors several years ago. The kitchen floors were not installed by Barnum, but were high-gloss. Barnum gave me the option of using an orange oil finish that resulted in a rich warm matte finish which worked much better for us. About a year ago, we decided to put hardwood floors in the rest of the house. Barnum refinished my kitchen again and then installed hardwood to match in the rest of the house. The kitchen flowed into the hall and the rest of the house and they made it look exactly the same. You cannot tell they are different.

Description of Work: They installed a hickory hardwood floor in my family room, kitchen, and foyer/hallway. They also sanded and finished it. They did not tear out the old floor or remove trim etc.

 + 0 moreThe project went very well, and the end product is beautiful. The project did take two days longer than expected, but this had more to do with unique circumstances than it did with the company. The price was higher than competitors, but the end product seems well worth it.
Description of Work: We had the hardwood floors throughout our home (built in 1910) refinished, including douglas fir floors on the ground floor, oak on the second floor, and a doug fir staircase. After finishing, Barnum Floors applied a natural finish (no stain).

Description of Work: We had our hardwood floors repaired and refinished. We live in an older home and much of the original hardwood had been covered by carpet and tile. Barnum removed the carpet and tile, replaced some of the missing and damaged wood, refinished the original hardwood, installed new trim, and kept everything virtually dust-free. We have hardwood in the kitchen and I didn't even have to clean out the cupboards before the project. After, I checked the dishes -- no dust! Amazing! And, their bid was considerably less than any other company I consulted. I would ALWAYS use and recommend Barnum. A great experience.
