Description of Work: We recently moved. We hired D&S Moving to move only our big furniture. We talked to the lady that answers the phone and sets up the move. She was very friendly and helpful at the beginning. She told us that the movers would be there at 8am sharp and they work fast so it should only take maybe 3-4 hours. Nothing else was mentioned. The movers got there at 8am sharp but not at our door, at the bottom of our drive. They did not start til 8:30. They did not move fast as she said. They were goofing off ringing a bell we had on our stairs from a church the previous owners had there. They finally got a load to take to our new home. They said they were going to the gas station to get a soda. Took them half an hour when the gas station was only a block from our new home. They finally got that load unloaded and went to get another load. We were so tired of waiting for them we started moving and hauling furniture ourselves in a trailer we had borrowed. The workers were talking about other jobs they were going to after our move and how tired they were. When the move was over we ended up paying them way more than we thought it was going to be. We called the lady back and asked her why it was so much. She said they get paid from the time they leave the office, not the time they start and we had to pay for a gas fill up. We were never told about this before hand. We were told $140 an hour from the star to finish time. They charged us for 8 hours for a job they said would take 3-4 hours. We feel they were stalling the whole time to get 8 hours in. After talking to other customers they have had we were told that they are a rip off and they feel they were cheated also. We have been told by others that they would never get this moving company to move them. The same nice lady in the beginning turned into a real witch after the job was done and we called to ask questions. A real jekyl and hyde. I do not recommend this company to anyone that needs a mover.

+ -1 moreThey ended up not moving us. The decided to schedule another move on the same day as our move and then wanted us to let them load our stuff the night before. Then told us to sleep on an air mattress for that night. My wife has an artificial hip so that wasn't happening. I suggested lowering the cost of the move by the cost of our stay in a hotel for that night. That was unacceptable to them. Then I was told that they didn't even have a crew lined up at our new destination that is 14+ hours two weeks out from our move. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! We ended up telling them to cancel the move and reserving a Uhaul. The only hick up so far in this whole deal from selling our home, to acquiring another home, to finding future employment has been this company. To say we are extremely disappointed is an understatement!
Description of Work: The were suppose to move us to Mississippi, but ended up scheduling a customer that has used them four times in our place even though we had our move scheduled for over a month.

+ -1 moreD & S Moving came to out residence and quoted the next day by mail. We moved about 200 miles away. The movers showed up on time and were very polite and respectable to out belongings. They asked questions if they were unsure of which box belonged to what area of the house to keep everything in order. The even offered to hang out clothing in the respected closets. We will definitely use this company again.
Description of Work: D & S moved our apartment into a town home.
