Master is always responsive and professional. They come out the same day, on time, if not a little early and get the job done quickly. Tom and Stephanie are always great to work with!

They did a great and neat job overall. One detail that they did not catch was a drain pipe that went up two floors and came right into the basement. When they disconnected things, the drain pipe dropped down and pulled away from the vanity in our bedroom. We did not discover this until we had water running out on our hardwood floor from the vanity. They came out and fixed the issue as well as replacing our vanity. Attention to detail would have been my only issue. Check their work.

We have a home warranty, and after the company they sent out was unable to fix our leaking/malfunctioning whirlpool tub we called in Master Plumbing (they are reimbursable through insurance). We LOVED them. The tech they sent out was very knowledgeable and fixed the leak right away. He tested everything and found the malfunction had to do with the pump/switch. They did not fix the pump/switch (as he was a plumber, not an electrician), but we found it to be an easy job after his diagnosis. We would recommend them over and over again.

I emailed them mid-morning when I saw a small leak in our bath tub faucet had developed into a steady flow. They called me back within an hour and had their technician at the house that same afternoon. Amazing! He actually arrived a little early but they called first to make sure I was home. John did an super job, repaired the faucet with parts he had in the truck and advised me on some other plumbing questions I had. I was impressed from start to finish. Will definitely consider them for an upcoming bathroom renovation.

This was the second time I used Master Plumbing. They are great! The woman on the phone always answers with "how can I make you smile today?" Lifts the mood when you're calling with plumbing problems. John took care of my problems both times swiftly and efficiently and did everything he could to save me time and money.

We had Master remove and reinstall our kitchen sink after a countertop replacement in 2014. Almost a year later we had a leak in the drain. They came out and replaced parts in the drain and covered it under warranty. Stephanie (office) and Bryan (plumber) were very cordial and professional. Would definitely recommend Master Plumbing for any plumbing needs you may have

On our old water heater, the pilot light would keep going out after the water reached the thermostat temperature, so we'd only have hot water for a brief period of time each day before we'd have to manually stick a lighter under the unit and re-light the pilot light. We had another service company come out to try to address the issue, but they didn't resolve the issue, so we called in Master Plumbing. The repairman arrived in a timely fashion, and slipped on booties to cover his work shoes. He determined that the water heater was over 20 years old in our house (not really a surprise!). He recommended a new water heater, and had one called in to be delivered on another truck while he was removing the old water heater. In a matter of about 2 hours, he had completely replaced the new water heater. I would highly recommend Master Plumbing for water heater replacement! The repairman was courteous, clean, professional and efficient. He answered all of my questions about our new water heater.

My initial service request was to have a clogged pipe cleared that was causing water to backup in the drain of a finished basement. This was accomplished in a profession and timely manner. While Sean was here, I asked that he check our original construction sump pump. He tested the unit with a diagnostic tool that validated my suspicion that it did in fact need to be replaced. I appreciated that he was able to replace the sump pump on the same visit so I didn't have to take additional time away from work. My positive experience aligned with the majority of Angie's List reviews for Master Plumbing.

They were professional and the workmanship was very good.

The fixtures we purchased were junk. They broke within several months of use. We returned to the business and asked for their help with the poor quality. They just laughed at us (yes literally). The office people were rude and unprofessional in 1997.

Our tech answered all our questions, performed the work promptly, and even gave us a free sample of a natural product that would help maintain a clear-running drain. We got more than our money's worth.

The whole process went very well! First time my wife and I needed to call a plumber and John was great. He walked us through the work we requested and did exactly what we needed. He went above and beyond in a few spots to help me out in the future as we finish the basement. Reasonable price and the place was cleaner than what we had it when we left. I saw them on Angie's list here at the top and am glad I called them. I emailed them on a Wednesday night, they called me Thursday and sent someone on Friday morning. That's hard to find with plumbers these days as I did call multiple to just try and get a quote from them. We will call them again in the future for sure.

Called them at 9:30 AM and a technician came out approximately 1 hour later. Talk about fast service! Gave me an estimate of the cost and explained what was going on with the old one and what my options were. I elected to replace it with a larger capacity water heater and he was all done in less than 2 hours. I had to make quite a few calls to the office and Diane was extremely patient and pleasant! Very pleased with the work, and will definitely call them again if needed! Bryan was very nice and patient with my animals too, who were all over the place.

This plumber was the fourth plumber I called for this job. The first two refused to do the job and the third couldn't fit me in for three weeks. Master Plumbing was able to come to fix the valve at a day and time which was convenient to me. The plumber who arrived was pleasant and very professional. He had the entire job finished within 20 minutes and left the work area cleaner than when he arrived. The prices were fair and the quality exceptional. This will be the plumber I will call first from now on.

I didn’t like phone communication with them. They were very rude on the phone. They were acting like I was a nuisance . First time I’ve ever had an experience like that with ANY service provider. I could only imagine what the work would be like.

This was the second service provided by the provider. He came right on time after calling 30 minutes in advance. He worked on the spot for 1.5 hour effectively and vigorously. He explained the problem and he was open and honest about what he saw and what he did to fix it. He was very courteous and pleasant at all times. He cleaned after himself diligently. It may not be the least expensive one but the quality of service was great.

OK. Uneventful. Seems to have worked so far.

I noticed that my condenser fan died after work on a Thursday. With warmer weather forecast over the next few days and a pregnant wife at home, I appreciated a fast response and repair on Friday. I called a few places, and Master was able to send someone right away. It was a bit pricey at around $200/hr after part cost, but for this kind of service I expected to have to pay a bit. The job was done professionally and the technician was upfront about the cost. I would use them again if I was in a pinch.

They came out the next day. Very friendly office personnel. He told me the cost of clearing the floor drain up front prior to clearing. Suggested a product of theirs that may help with my drains. I had a coupon for a free service call so the total price of $288 was with that subtracted. I would call them again if I had an issue and a coupon.

This company responded beyond anything I expected. On time-reasonable cost-professional workmanship and knowledgeable. I have already recommended them to others. EXCELLENT SERVICE PROVIDER !!!!!!

Master Plumbing was great. I didn’t have any issues with them. They were slightly lower than a bid we got from another plumber in the area and the guy was clean and quick and gave me a good advice. So I don’t have any complaints. I would recommend others to definitely give them a chance to give an estimate. I know they have some employees who have some connections with Lorenza plumbing in the area and Lorenza and Master Plumbing are headed with each other and I had both of them give me a quote and when Master Plumbing heard that Lorenza had been out there, they beat their quote. Originally, I was wanting to install a tank less water heater and the plumber that came out to give me the estimate, looked at the situation and the number of people in my house and suggested that I will not get a return on the investment in the time that I plan to remain in the house and that saved a fifty percent over what I had planned to spend. They were right on time.

Service call went well. The replacement was expensive but the installation was uneventful. Installer was great.

Recently, I was housesitting and caring for a baby. There was a huge storm with lots of tornado warnings. The power went out. For two hours, I had to bale out the sump pump as the rain kept falling...and, of course, no power. I called Master Plumbers the next morning. LOTS of people in Cedar Rapids needed services after the unprecedented storm, but the nice dispatcher (Kristin?) said that I might be in luck. I asked for someone to come for a consultation. "Rodney" appeared exactly when he was supposed to (A little early, even!), and took a look at the contractor installed system. He used some gadget that appeared to show that the current sump pump was "Bad." I really don't know about the gadget...I should have asked him to show me the result AFTER he installed the new one! Anyway, after consulting with the homeowners, I had him install a new pump and a battery back up system. I was SHOCKED at how expensive it was, but he told me that others in town go for 50% more. ( My husband was NOT surprised at the cost.) I just know that there are a lot of storms here in Cedar Rapids, and the power goes out pretty often. And the baling process was a PAIN. So this is like having insurance, for at least the duration of the three year guarantee! The service provider was neat and polite and seemed very comfortable with the job. I would not hesitate to call them again.
