John went above and beyond over and over again. He is the realtor you want on your side when you are looking for a house (and I would imagine if you are selling he would be great as well). We come in from out of town on several occasions and John made time to show us all of the houses we wanted to see, and spent several long days with us. He has an excellent eye, and made sure we knew what we would be getting with each house we looked at. He is upbeat and positive with a great attitude of service to his clients. When we were ready to make an offer, he guided us through the process and made it as easy as possible for us not being in town at the time. We could not be happier with our new home, and could not recommend John enough. Please do yourself a favor and call John if you are in the market for a home.

In my opinion, John provided the barest minimum of services as a real estate agent. We were house hunting long distance and had to rely on his and quot;expertiseand quot; in helping us find a house to buy. John provided two different websites with listings that we could review. This was fine in principal. Only one of the sites had adequate search capabilities to use. John never provided any suggestions that he had researched. Everything was automated. I didn't feel like we received the personalized service he advertises. There was a time that we went 4 weeks without any contact from John at all. We were sending in requests for more information on several candidates, but had no response from John. It wasn't until I asked if I should be dealing with someone else that we started to get timely responses. The house we eventually found was found via Zillow.com. John didn't know about it at all. In fact, John never saw the house until the final walk-through. I got more information from friends in the area that I ever did from John. I also don't feel that John is very veteran friendly. I used a veteran's home loan organization for the mortgage which didn't have offices in Iowa. I chose them because they only do VA mortgages. The entire time I was searching for a house, John was trying to get me to switch to local banks and organizations. He had no respect for veteran specific services. I will not recommend John Beltramae or Iowa Realty to others looking for a home in Iowa.

Fair warning: Anyone reading this may think I'm a plant, but you'll just have to trust that I'm not. :o) When I was looking at buying a new house and selling my current one, I went online to start reading reviews. The consensus among various realtor review sources clearly pointed to John. In fact, I found so many glowing reviews that I thought at least some of them must be his friends and family. Nope! John's the real deal, and genuinely deserves all the accolades. Here's the laundry list of why I recommend him: 1) Promptly returns emails and phone calls; 2) Not condescending *but* doesn't assume you know all the real estate lingo (hard to find people in sales areas that have that right mix); 3) Admits if he doesn't know something, and either finds out or directs you to the right place; 4) Recommendations for home inspectors, handymen, etc. have been top-notch; 5) You ask him what he thinks, he'll tell you; 6) And the cherry on top: He's friendly and funny, which makes him an easy person with which to work. Good luck with your house hunting and/or selling -- it can be so stressful. If you pick John, it'll go better!! P.S. I'm not sure what to put for dollar amount - I truly am not sure.

After talking with John, He knew exactly the type of houses/areas to show me. The best part of John is his analsysis of the house. He will catch anything the seller is trying to hide or cover. He also realizes the actual value of the home. I couldn't ask for a better agent.
