+ -1 moreWalked in and waited just a couple of minutes. Asked if they could key the unit I brought in. He looked at it quickly and said yes. Took it to his workbench, did the job and checked me out. Was in and out in about 10 minutes. This is the 2nd service job they've done for us. Also bought knobs and hinges for a kitchen redo there - the only place in town I could find the right-size hinges. Will always take my hardware and lock work there.

+ -1 moreCalled on a Saturday, when technically they weren't open. Owner was in the shop, answered and set up an appt. for about 30 min later. Came out as he said and did the lock work quickly and professionally. Gave me info on how homeowners insurance typically handles re-keying work. We've also purchased some cabinet hardware from them recently. Good price. Good service. This longtime Cedar Rapids business is on my "call list" now.

+ -1 moreThe locks were a little bit more expensive than the big box store, but when I had a problem with one of the locks I bought, they caught the problem, provided a replacement part right then and there, and threw in some small shelf pins I was going to also purchase. Very professional and great to know this small business is there to help.

+ -1 moreIt was an excellent experience overall. Was very punctual, explained why he couldn't do what I wanted. Was able to rekey to a new key and made me as many duplicates as I needed. Would highy recommend them and will use them again.
Description of Work: They had great communication. Sam was very accommodating in meeting me to have my locks rekeyed. Sam was very punctual and did the job in a very timely manner. Was an excellent experience.

+ -1 moreAfter calling Emerson to schedule an appointment, John was able to come out within the week to perform the services I required. After arriving at my home, he inspected the locks, took them back to his shop re-keyed them, and brought them back to the house to re-install him. The work was performed quickly and professionally. He was reasonably priced and very friendly. I would definitely use him again for any relevant needs.
Description of Work: John came to change the locks on my newly purchased home and made all of the entryway locks match each other, including the one on the garage door. I was worried the locks wouldn't be able to be re-keyed to match since every door was a different type of lock, and two of them were quite old. However, he was able to re-key all of the locks to match while leaving the original hardware in place.
