The two biggest things Jerry Duball has going for him are 1) he hires quality people, and 2) he calls you back. I tried a lot of electricians before making contact with Duball and had communication problems with all of them. When he was there for the estimate, he told me he hired people he would invite into his home and that showed when the work was done. Jerry showed up when he was supposed to for an estimate, gave me a price and told me about potential problems, and communicated when we scheduled the work. The workman gave me confidence because he checked in several times with the office for work progress updates and obviously was making sure he was planning the most efficient way to go about the one problem he encountered. Doing it right the first time gives me confidence. Duball is now my electrician. I will call them whenever I need electrical work and feel very comfortable doing so.
Description of Work: I had some switches moved and circuits rearranged and replaced fixture. I also had a garage heater installed.

The electricians, and in particular Gary, were great. The main job was for the Geothermal unit. Very helpful, went above and beyond to clean up some unsafe wiring that had been done by previous homeowner years before. Noticed and advised me on an item which I will have replaced in the future. The problem was the scheduling. They didn't come when they said they would, which would have been fine if they had called me. Instead, I was left to wonder why nobody showed up (on two different days). When I called the office, the response was that they had to do an emergency cal someplace else. i can understand that, but I can't understand why they didn't let me know.
Description of Work: Moved main electrical service underground. Installed additional electrical panel to be used for geo thermal unit. Added meter for geo unit and hooked up underground service. Repaired and cleaned up additional small jobs in the house. Installed outside motion lights.

Prior to calling Duball, I took my homeowners residential wiring exam and passed. I then wired my entire home, throwing out all existing wiring and starting from scratch. This project was a nightmare, and I quickly learned why electricians charge what they do. I estimate that I purchased $2000 worth of electrical supplies to rewire my home. It took approximately three weeks to rewire my home, and at the end of October it became cold. So with crunch time approaching, I finished my wiring project, got inspected, called the electrical company, and had the service drop installed. When I tried to energize the service panel, nothing happened. In a panic, I called several different electrical companies. None could come the next day with the exception of Duball Electric. Not only did they promise to send someone the next day, Keith arrived promptly at 800 AM. After taking the cover of of my service panel and inspecting it, Keith quickly jammed the main breaker on, and my house had power. Just as a side note, I did cap all wires that were not finished with wire nuts. Keith then threw all of the other breakers and promptly told me and quot;now you're an electrician!and quot;. I did appreciate the vote of confidence, but I am no electrician and gladly paid Duball for the service. I would highly recommend this company. Remember, if you think that electricians charge too much, then try wiring your own home and you'll soon realize where the money goes!
Description of Work: Keith from Duball Electric came to my home to help with what I thought was a faulty main 100 amp breaker. Keith opened my service panel, and quickly diagnosed the problem. I guess that breakers are shipped in the tripped position, and Keith was able to close the breaker thus energizing the service panel and my home.

It was assumed that the flickering was due to the air conditioner coming on line but when the lights went out in two rooms it was found that the house wires were rated for less amps than the breaker box. The tech found a place where the wiring was going bad and could have started a fire. He repaired everything and check many more spots.

Very well. Electrician came as scheduled and completed all work in a reasonable amount of time. (It took two trips as I had to order and wait for the light kit for the existing Casablanca ceiling fan.) He was friendly and professional at all times. I was working from home while he did his work, and he warned me before cutting power or internet access (via the cable line) to my office. The $1400 bill did not include the ceiling fans, light kit and pull-chain light which I supplied. The cost seemed high, but previous work I have had done was on a house in a small town, so my expectations may be biased. I called Duball despite the negative reviews because my former landlord highly recommended them.
Description of Work: Changed switched outlets to hot all the time; added ceiling fan/lights in two bedrooms with separate wall switches in each room for the fan and the light light; replaced chandelier with ceiling fan/light in dining room and added wall switch for fan; added motion light on garage; added cable outlet; changed 4 outlets to GFI; added pull-chain light in furnace room; added light to ceiling light in bedroom with separate wall switch.

They arrived on time. It happened to be the hottest day of the summer at about 95 degrees in the shade. Two guys worked on installing the electrical service box most of the day. When they completed that job the lead guy told me it was just too hot to do the outlets I had requested because they would need to get into the attic to run the wiring. He told me I would get a phone call and they would set up another date to complete the work. I never received a call. More than a month went by and no call. I finally called the company and talked to a woman. She said they had been very busy with other "more pressing" jobs and just hadn't had the opportunity to get back to me. Apparently my job wasn't very "important". I explained that they could have at least called me back and told me what the situation was, but I never received that call. I then cancelled the work and told them to just send me the bill. The work they did do was good but I was not impressed with their way of doing business. They seemed to want to do the jobs that would bring them a large payout and not mess with the smaller stuff. I will not hire them again. Very unprofessional.
Description of Work: Hired them to replace electrical box in basement and also add some electrical outlets in bedrooms.

We have a home warranty and when I was told to call Duball they firstly told me they don't like doing jobs under home warranty as they don't get paid enough. I felt sorry for them but was still shocked at their attitude especially when busineses are struggling. Then when I asked them to come and do an estimate outside of the home warranty (in the same phone call) they plainly never returned my call for more details and to set an appt. The warranty company had to get involved and call them directly and instruct them to do a quote. I never heard from Duball again. I was furious. Needless to say months went by but when I was good and ready to tackle the electrical issues in the home, I called another company altogether. I will not spend any money on a company that doesn't have the etiquette to return a call or operate with professionalism.

Went great...now if I could find a plumber like them, I'd be set.
Description of Work: Love these guys! They did my bathroom remodel years ago, so I called them again when I needed to rewire a bedroom. Excellent job there. The last go-round was a chandelier I had to remove, move, and reinstall in an 80 year old house. They are so competent, relatively inexpensive, and they'll do just about anything you need with no "ifs, ands, or buts." I'll use them again. They'll actually take the time to do small jobs fast, and they're good at major remodels too.

they showed up a little late, i guess there was another emergency call the tech had to go to but they forgot to call me and let me know. after an hour of waiting i called the company and asked where the guy was and they found out very quickly and got back to me right away. The guy showed up about 10 minutes after that and was able to get right to work. he explained what he was going to do and was very professional while doing it. I would use this company again.
Description of Work: we had 2 new outlets installed in our living room. The only outlet on the wall didn't have the ground prong capability and we needed at least 2 outlets on the wall that did. They ran 2 new outlets off the existing outlet and changed the existing one to include the ground capability.

It went very well. I called Duball Eelectric and the woman answering the phone was very courteuos and helpful. She had one of the electricians call me back to schedule. The electrician came on time. He was cordial, really listened to me, took his time, and tried to be helpful regarding choices that I made in the process, by offering good suggestions. He cleaned up everything and got it all done in a very reasonable period of time. They sent me a bill---the price was okay, considering the time and effort involved. I would definitly recommend them to a friend.
Description of Work: The service man installed cable for television, in my bedroom. This involved running cable from the front of the house along the outside, around the corner, down the wall, and into my bedroom. He carefully fastened the white cable to the house all the way along, and then drilled through the wooden window sill of my bedroom window and sent the cable through. It is a concrete block house so that was the best way to install cable into my bedroom. He caulked the hole aroud the cable (in the window sill). He asked me how much extra cable I wanted left in the bedroom and cut it to that length.

They were very timely. The work was done exactly as per the bid. We spent about $1800. The job included putting a new line that operates the pool pump and several things. We did not get a second bid so I have no idea how their price could have been compared to somebody else. They would be the electrical company I would use again if I were in need of an electrician. I would recommend them to others.

We suspected we would need a new circuit breaker box to accommodate 220-volt service for an electric dryer in our 1950s-vintage ranch (a rental property), and I told the company they should be prepared to give me an estimate on their first visit. But, instead, they sent a guy over to install a 220-volt outlet, and he took one look and said we would need a new circuit breaker box, but the company estimator would have to come over and inspect and provide an estimate. Unfortunately, the estimator was booked that day. It took the estimator another day or so to visit, and the work was done a week later. I wish they had been able to get this done a little sooner, and I suppose I should have gotten another estimate or two--perhaps someone else would have come in a little lower--but I guessed the price was in the ballpark. So I authorized them to do the work. I am quite happy with the work that was done. They showed up on time, installed a huge circuit breaker box and 220-volt outlet, and redid some exposed wiring in the basement, plus arranged for the utility company to replace the meter. In other words, they told me in advance exactly what they would have to do, and they followed through. The electrical installation was logical and professional. And, they cleaned up after themselves. The room where the work was done was absolutely spotless. So, I can recommend Duball Electric.
Description of Work: Installed a 220-volt outlet for an electric dryer. Replaced a 55-year-old fuse box and a small circuit breaker box with a new circuit breaker panel. Performed some rewiring in the basement to bring wiring within code (had to sheath some plastic-wrapped wiring with metal pipe). Arranged for utility company to replace the meter. Overall, upgraded the electrical service.
