They gave us a break on the price if we could start right away and gave us a timeline of approx. 1 1/2 weeks. Demolition was prompt and quick but there was a deep scratch on our wood stairs afterwards which they didn't mention (probably from a dropped fixture or tub). Communication was poor from the beginning. They asked for very few details before getting started and were incredibly poor about letting us know what was happening next and when to expect steps in the process to be done. This was most difficult because we don't have another full bath and our infant was getting cleaned in the kitchen sink. Employees were not working 8-hour days by any means, but had they been close to the projected timeline that would not have been an issue. It is now 6 weeks later and project is still not truly done but we're calling it quits. The tub & sink were installed without incident. Sink needed a side splash to look finished, but they didn't mention it and we had to add on the service afterwards when we discovered how poor it looked because connection to adjacent cabinet had a gap. Shower walls were installed after the 2-week mark and when they sealed the seams they used clear in some spots and white caulk in others which looked terrible & spotty. I called requesting that they put white over all but it took 2 attempts for them do so and have it all looking consistently white. They had a person come patch the dry wall around the shower surround and the ceiling above. After he spent an additional day patching it, I was skeptical when he said it was done and could be painted. However I tried painting and the cracks and patches were obvious after 1 coat... it was clear the wall & ceiling would never look right unless redone. They then sent the person who should have done the job originally, someone more experienced with drywall. He did a good job in less time and tried to match the ceiling texture to the rest of the ceiling. There is still a noticeable crack where the 2 meet and the new ceiling is not as thick as old ceiling, but it's much better than it was. The flooring went down all right but we would have liked a diamond pattern but the installer didn't even want to discuss that (too complicated, so much more expensive that we wouldn't want to consider it, etc.). Lastly the biggest issue has been the plumbing to the shower. Has needed repair due to leaking 4 times. The first leak was the pipe elbow from the showerhead, I believe. The other times are being blamed on a faulty the shower valve. The last time he removed it and got a replacement free of charge and installed it. That was appreciated but one has to wonder why it would take 3 times of having it leak onto our downstairs ceiling before they would arrive at that conclusion. After this last repair, the showerhead is loose on the wall - it is not anchored at all and the flange isn't attached to the drywall. This is the piece we just may have to do ourselves. To be fair, Pat did try to respond in a timely manner to our questions/calls. It's perhaps not the owner's fault when the subcontractor says they will come repair a plumbing leak and then doesn't call to set that up until 2 days later so that we were unable to use the shower in the meantime. Pat also doesn't appear to have charged us extra when things needed to be done multiple times to get it right.

We had been living with a hole in the bathroom door for 7 years, when my husband remolded the bathroom and installed a vanity too large to allow the door to close. His answer - cut a hole in the door. Part of the drywall around the door inside the bathroom was also botched, as the house has settled significantly and few lines are now straight. I had attempted to get bids and workmen in to install a door since June, and while I interviewed three companies, none of them offered a bid and never called back. Done Done looked at the job and submitted a bid a day later, and had a workman in my house the next week. John arrived on time, with contracts in hand, and got to work very quickly. The only glitch came when John finished. He only removed the plaster around the shallow cabinet next to the door, and the drywall didn't abut the plaster above and across the door. The trim on one side of the door was gapped above the drywall by appx. 1/8 inch as well. I expressed my concerns to Pat, the owner of the company, and he came to look the next day. He sent John back very soon after, and the wall all around the door was replaced and the seams are much less uneven now. As my husband intends to finish the job - plaster, mud, texture, and paint - it matters that he won't have to deal with uneven joins. The door is beautiful, the trim work John did is professional and slick. He was polite, considerate, and a good worker. I was very impressed with his work.
Description of Work: Replaced a bathroom door with a pocket door. He removed a shallow cabinet next to the bathroom, removed the plaster, installed the door and hardware, matched the woodwork inside and outside the bathroom, stained and painted, then hung drywall to replace the plaster.

The service technician showed up on time. I had told their office that the new dishwasher was in the garage and they would need to move it inside, they sent one service technician with a dolly and he had no problem getting it inside without causing any damage. The price does reflect them removing the old the dishwasher and taking it with them to dispose of it. The gentleman who did the install was polite and obviously knew what he was doing. My house was left unscathed and clean and my dishwasher is working fine.

From the start of this project, Pat from Done-Done was extremely involved and remained in constant communication. I was thoroughly impressed with the level of detail and questions that were asked during the bid process. They were also very accommodating to our budget and was were very creative in helping us find ways to reach our goal. Once the work started, John was extremely professional and offered suggestions and ideas for issues or concerns that came up. The quality of work was above the level of our expectations and the timeliness and completion of this project was well before our original anticipated date. We will definitely be using them again for future projects.
Description of Work: Completed basement remodel for approximately 1500 square ft of living space. Included 1 bedroom, rec room, bar, bathroom, and fitness room. They installed tile in the bar area, custom cabinets next to the fireplace and bar, installed quartz ledge-stone around the fireplace, railing, doors, trim, and completed bathroom and bar plumbing.

I contacted them for an estimate, they came out as promised prepared the estimate and got back to me when they said they would. We have not decided weather we are going to repair the house, but I thought it was important to know that out of three contractors Done Done were the only ones that followed through with an estimate. The others either did not return my call or never sent the estimate ! I also am very happy with the way they are trying to help me with some other ideas on a difficult project. Very Professional.

Pat, the owner, showed up for our appointment a couple days after I called him, and went through the project with me carefully. After a few more conversations (and Pat offering a several solutions) and home visits, we agreed on a price and the work started within 2 weeks of our first conversation! We had contacted two contractors before him and none had followed up or given us a reasonable schedule. John was our man, and he was very hard working and would call me with updates and questions periodically. Our neighbors volunteered the fact that he would show up every day at 7 and work till the afternoon, so these guys are serious about getting the job done. Some neighbors we had never spoken to actually knocked on our door to tell us how great the house was looking :) We were not home to oversee the work, but we trusted John and Pat and were not dissapointed. The project was done perfectly! It was pricey, but worth it when you consider the quality of the work. I would hire Done Done five times over!

The company owner, Pat, was very responsive to all our requests for information, design ideas, layout and estimate for our large remodeling project. He was professional and quick to contact us throughout the entire process. He even invited us to his own home for examples of work and design ideas he has done. When we balked at the initial cost of the estimate of $35,000, Pat worked diligently with us to find a solution and bring the costs down further. We could not have asked for better service. We greatly appreciate the detailed estimates given. So why did we not choose Done Done Services for our project? It came down to a finding a different contractor who simply "got" our design aesthetics and overall feel for what we wanted accomplished better. We would absolutely contact Done Done Services for other projects in the future.

I have a small kitchen and it didn't have enough cupboard space for me or a dishwasher (unless you count my husband as the dishwasher). I had done everything I could to make it workable but it always looked messy. I had the guys come in and told them I wanted a dishwasher and more cupboard space and come up with a plan for me. Within a week, they had a plan and sketch for me. They sent the information by e-mail and we had a meeting within days to discus what I thought of it. It was amazing and, with a few changes, I signed the contract. I was sent out to find the new appliances while they waited for the cupboards to come in. The day before they started work, they came down to discus it with the man who would be in charge of the project. Jim became part of the family for the next month. Others would come and go when he needed an extra hand or had trouble with the wiring in this old house but Jim was on top of it the whole time. They put up plastic to keep the mess confined to the kitchen and cleaned up every day before they left. We discussed details or problems as they came up. One major problem was that I purchased a french door fridge that was too large for the space. Since I was unwilling to downsize on the fridge, they ended up enlarging the doorway to make it work. It added to the total bill, which they made sure I understood, but was well worth it. Not only did it fit the fridge in but we all liked the new look. When you walk in the front door, you can clearly see into the kitchen and through the window to the 3 seasons room. It made it all feel lighter and brighter. And I finally had a ceiling fan in there which I had been wanting for years. Matter of fact, I have everything I ever wanted in a kitchen and have been very happy with it. What amazed many of my friends is that it was done in the time estimated and within budget. As a side note, I picked them because of their rating on Angie's List. I intended to get a few estimates but never did get any more. Their estimate was very reasonable and I liked their attitude so I never got any others.

We contacted Done Done Services along with two other contractors to get quotes. Each one was made aware that we were working with a tight time frame as the work had to be completed before the waterproofing company came or we would lose our spot and have to reschedule. We made appointments with each contractor so they could survey the job and provide us with quotes. Pat Freilinger, the owner of Done Done, was the only one that was on time with his appointment. He was very professional and pointed out things that should be done that the other two missed. Pat had his quote to us the next day with a complete break down of the work to be done along with a completion date. We reviewed it and even though we didn't have the other quotes yet we decided to go with Done Done. Work was start on the date that was promised. The service techs were punctual each day. The last day of the job two techs came with a dump trailer to remove and haul away the construction (or in our case deconstruction) debris. My wife informed them that my father wasn't feeling well and asked if they could please be a quiet as possible. She told me that she was surprised that they carried all the debris out of the basement and she hardly knew that they were there. And the work was completed more than a week before the promised completion date. We are very pleased with our experience with Done Done and Pat Freilinger.

Called them up and came out to start putting an estimate together the next day. We had the item numbers for all the fixtures and were able to look at them before starting. Also gave me a detailed estimate for all the costs. Once approved they worked with around my schedule for installation. Project involved removing everything including the drywall from the bathroom and replacing all of it. One of their contractors stopped by regularly to inspect the progress of workers. They made sure to put plastic down on the carpet to make sure that there were no mud or other tracks left on the carpet and made sure everything was done right. Their workers were curtious and answered my questions. We could not be happier with their service.

Quoted bathroom and Basement remodel. Done Done demanded All money up front even though I was providing all materials for job. This person was upset because he did not want to put down a 50% deposit on his bathroom remodel. The estimate was $6,900 not the $10,000 listed. I did not send him a nasty email. In my email I explained why I have a policy of getting a 50% down payment for all larger projects. I provided a very timely estimate free of charge. Posting "F" ratings because he did not want to pay the 50% down payment seems very inappropriate.

Done Done services was very responsive and great at communicating throughout the process of quote to construction. I had them remove old windows and widen the opening so that they could install patio doors for a deck addition. They picked out doors and hardware that went great with original feature of my 1930's home. It included all the features I wanted and looks great in the space. They had to remove an outlet and move an air return from the wall to the floor. The workers came on time and left the job site very clean each night and when they were complete. I really appreciate the skill of the work and the attention to detail. They had a separate hardwood specialist come in to do the floor work properly and it matches seamlessly. I'll use them again for future home projects.

The service was great! Pat walked through the house with us to gather all of the requirements for the projects. Originally, we were just thinking of building a basic linen closet in the downstairs bathroom (in addition to the other repairs). Pat, though, checked to see what was on the other side of the bathroom, and saw there was nothing except the unfinished part of our basement. He suggested that we build the closet to be the entire length of our bathroom to give us maximum storage space. So, instead of a basic linen closet I got a "clos-ma-hal" instead! We had a bit of a slow start due to unexpected scheduling conflicts. Once we were able to land on a date, though, Pat's crew arrived on time and immediately started to lay down protective floor covering to keep our floors neat and tidy. The crew was friendly and polite, and very professional. They made daily progress and Pat called us frequently to give us updates on the schedule. All of the repair work - the screened deck door, door treatments, flooring replacements - looked great! As with all projects, we had a bit of a surprise when the bathroom closet was unveiled. I have to admit, I was disappointed with the width of the shelving put into the closet. It was only 11 inches wide, but the closet space could easily handle shelving 18 inches wide. I called Pat, we discussed, and then I spoke with the crew members who were at our house. They listened to my concerns and then immediately went to work that same day I had 18" shelving installed! Wow! Excellent recovery! Needless to say, we were delighted with the end result. To avoid the misunderstanding we had, I suggest that, after describing your requirements, you request a drawing of some sort that details all of the dimensions - we didn't do this, and that led to shelving that was narrower than what was wanted. We're going to hire Done-Done again to do some additional work. Loved the service and professionalism of everyone we spoke to or worked with.
Description of Work: We had Done-Done Services provide a variety of home repair/improvement work, including repairing the door on our deck and re-screening it; cleaning and applying varnish on several doors; replacing worn panels of flooring; building shelves in a bedroom closet, and the largest (and primary reason for hiring them) was to build a large linen/storage closet in our downstairs bathroom.

The estimate process was slow and frustrating, but once the contract was signed the build was fast and high quality. The price was within our expectations, and the final result was fantastic. I'm glad we stuck with them. It took approximately six months to complete my estimate. I first called Done Done in Aug 2012, and they showed up very quickly to take measurements and get the details of the job. They delivered first draft layouts and 3D renderings within a couple of weeks, but then things slowed down dramatically. It took 3 months to do 3 rounds of revisions. Sometimes I would go more than a month without hearing from anyone. We finalized the plan in Nov 2012, and then it took another 3 months for them to get back to me with an estimate. I would call every few weeks to get a status update, they would apologize, promise to get it finished and get back to me, and then go silent for another month. I finally got my estimate in Feb 2013. If Angie's List did separate scores for Estimate vs. Job, I?d give Done Done a "D" on the responsiveness of the estimate. I can appreciate people being busy and I'm happy to wait my turn in line, but they left me in the dark way too often. I tried to get estimates from 2 other companies, both of whom quickly and politely declined the job as they were booked solid. It was obvious that Done Done was booked solid too, but I?d heard good things about their build quality and decided I?d rather wait than go with a second rate outfit. Once the contract was signed, they became a LOT more responsive. They gave us a start date, and said it would take four weeks to complete the job. They showed up when they said they would, and completed the job in almost exactly the estimated time. The first week was demolition. They hung plastic sheeting to keep the dust out of the rest of the house. The majority of the debris was removed daily, so we could easily walk around and see progress. The second week was framing, electrical and plumbing. We had some electrical surprises, the wall we wantedremoved had a lot of wiring in it. They were able to re-route it without problems. The third week was drywall, painting and flooring. Kind of a slow week due to drying time on the drywall and paint. The fourth week was cabinets, counters, fixtures and inspections. Our floors aren't quite level, and they took extra time to make sure the counters were level and seamless. Again we had a surprise, the breakfast bar needed to be raised slightly to fit outlets between the counter and bar. They were able to make the necessary changes without problems. Their crew was friendly, social, and capable of dealing with all the curveballs our house threw at them. Once the job is done, quality is the only thing that still matters. Despite all the early communication and responsiveness problems, Done Done gave us a quality kitchen. We'll definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Removed the wall between the kitchen and dining room, and swapped the location of the two rooms. Re-framed another wall to relocate the entryway to the kitchen and create a breakfast bar. Extended plumbing and electrical into the new kitchen location, also added a gas line so we can install a gas stove. Fixed several existing drywall cracks in addition to the drywall required by the re-framing. Installed vinyl flooring and painted the kitchen and dining room. Installed new cabinets and countertops and sink, including a kitchen island. Installed new lighting and ceiling fans.

Unfortunately, the quoted price was VERY high, more than double each of the other two quotes we got, so we didn't ask them to do any of the work.
Description of Work: We got a quote for hanging an interior door and installing floor tile in a bathroom. The people that came to quote were punctual and professional, we had a lot of confidence that they would do a good job.

I would definitely hire them again. We aren't even finished with the remodel and we are extremely happy with what we've seen. Besides just displaying excellent craftsmanship on everything with good attention to detail, there were some additional things I wanted to point out. -- Since we just purchased the house, we haven't moved in yet. The crew have had the place to themselves and have been very careful and very respectful of the boxes and stuff we've moved in so far. They've even helpfully brought packages inside when UPS left them on the door. That shows a level of care and maturity. -- They've wrapped just about everything in plastic. There are three or four layers of plastic covering on the floors where ever they have to go to bring in equipment or walk. They've done a good job of protecting the carpeting and floor from dust and dirt. -- During the initial planning stage, Pat was careful to pay attention to what I wanted, not just what I said to do. He suggested some better alternatives and ways to do things that I hadn't thought of. Some people may have just done exactly what I asked for, but I wouldn't have been as satisfied. He thought about the over all goals I was trying to achieve, which is exactly what you want from a professional. And he was still concerned about ways to get me what I wanted while staying within our budget. -- Handled scope creep. Despite adding a shower and painting to the mix, everything has been moving quickly. When everything is completely finished, I'll add a followup. But even now I would definitely recommend Pat and Done Done to anyone who asked.
Description of Work: Pat and his crew are remodeling the house we purchased. We asked them to remove a wall to combine to small bedrooms into one big master and combine two small bathrooms into one large bath with new whirlpool tub and large walk-in shower. The tub involved adding additional support underneath it because of the weight of the water.
