Done Done Services

I had explained that I had the materials, I had most of the work already completed, just needed them to finish it. I had to pay for them to get to and from my home, totaling $25, this also began the hourly rate...so it was more than that in the end. They said it would take 4.5 hours total (again, this included the travel time I was paying for separately) and the rate was $55/hr. They also added another fee of $180 to general labor. So, I'm paying TWO labor fees? Having 2 panels of screen hung on my porch for almost $500 is ridiculous. The other reviews on here seemed similar.

The stove hood replacement went very well. The workmanship was outstanding, hood performs well and the flue looks very nice. Workman cleaned up after the job. The dryer vent replacement was a little disappointing. The tech seemed a little overmatched by the task. His first attempt left the driver sticking out six inches farther than allowable. At my suggestion, he reworked the install and we could then move the dryer out and back in. However, when he left, I pulled the dryer out to discover the drywall mess was still behind the dryer. When I pulled it out a little farther to vacuum the mess, the dryer vent elbow pulled off the back of the dryer as it was only held by aluminum duct tape. I called the technician right away and fortunately he was still nearby. He came back and was very apologetic and more securely fastened the vent elbow to the back of the dryer. Now we can move the dryer in and out reasonably well. On a positive note, I will say that the technician was thorough checked to make sure the dryer was moving air properly through the roof vent. It was not. He went into the attic and discovered that the vent pipe had come loose in the attic. That could have been a very bad thing had he not checked that out. Overall, the workmen were punctual, courteous and clean. I know the dryer guy just forgot and those things happen. As far as using them again, I have to be honest. It depends on who they send. And not knowing that makes me hesitate to bring them back.

On time completed job properly

John arrived at the scheduled time and was very professional. He listened to my concerns and explained options. He gave advice to meet my needs the most cost effective way.

After a couple of weeks I had not received any estimate whatever. I then phoned the owner pf the company to ask why. The next day I received an estimate that was outrageous. I would think it was about two or three times the amount I expected, and I have some experience in such matters. There was never any follow-up. It's a shame, but I'm glad I never trusted them any farther than I did.

They never showed up the first time. When they showed up they didn't take notes so when they left my home, certain jobs were not completed nor were the tasks that were done to a level that was satisfactory, but they expected full payment. I did not pay them and stated I would not until they completed all of the work they quoted to be completed and were hired to do. Called them multiple times to set up a time to have them back and they didn't answer the phone. They continued to send me an invoice expecting full payment. When I finally spoke with someone directly they threatened to take me to court if I didn't pay even though they did not complete the work. After a very unprofessional conversation on the phone it ended badly and I never heard from them again.

Scheduling was a little difficult because of my schedule. I did not think that the provider called ahead and was surprised when he showed up at 7:30 am. I later found out that they had in fact called ahead and my student driver forgot to give me the message. Our provider, John came up with some workarounds to save me money and I am very happy with the results.

The carpenter was amazing (thanks, Jim). He was always on time and he would keep me informed if there were changes in the schedule and/or project. His work was excellent (and work ethic) and he cleaned up everyday (seriously - I was shocked by this). The office staff have been very friendly, flexible and responsive as well. Unfortunately, the floor painting job was the opposite of the carpentry work. Very messy - will need to power wash siding this summer. Had to do the floor twice. Would not recommend their painter. Recommend carpenter, office staff - not painter.

Keith was very nice to work with, professional and friendly. He informed me of any irregularities in the floor and explained everything before doing it. The rooms were immaculate when he left. The floors are beautiful! I would recommend him highly. Thank you Keith!

Storm door install was good. However that guy was sent to another job. His replacement was someone who couldn't follow simple instructions from the previous worker. Made numerous messes, dryer vent was a fire hazard the way he installed it and had another company come out and do it correctly. Caulked around the dryer vent like a 5 year old was a mess and not sealed. The screen installed over the crawl space was cut incorrectly after he had gone out a dozen times to cut. Almost as he was allergic to using a tape measure. Made a huge mess in my utility room and driveway that I had to clean. After contacting Pat the owner and texting him pictures he stated the job looked done to him. Will NEVER use again and have told and shown several people the shoddy work performed before I had it all redone by competent workers.

Jim and John were punctual, professional and did excellent work. The project was completed on time and for the amount quoted. I already have another project planned with Done Done Services in the Spring.

Quote were easy to understand and subtotaled. Price was 2/3 of next highest bidder. Stayed in good communication before work started and as work wrapped up. On-site worker was at the house at 7:30am sharp and left at 4pm sharp every day. They cleaned up every bit of mess. I am very pleased with the work and the professionalism, and will definitely use them again.

Things went great! They remodeled two bathrooms, one bedroom, part of the kitchen and dining area and the 3 seasons porch, including plumbing and electrical, flooring, drywall and painting. They were professional, cleaned up each day when they were done, kept me informed on everything, they were on time or even early each day. They were a lot of fun to have around and am very very happy with the work they did. I will have them back in the spring to do more work.

I have to say I was very disappointed. The two ladies who came did not do the deep cleaning I had asked. It was more like a lick and a promise. I will never use this company again regardless of how inexpensive they were.

When we got home from work we hardly recognized our home. The kitchen cabinets sparkled when we walked in the door, we hardly recognized the appliances as they looked brand new -- inside and out.....the bathrooms were very clean, the fans in the house were clean . .it was a very pleasant experience! I could go on and on about the whole process but you should find out for your self......The work that Tanya provided was unbelievable, and we would highly recommend the company Done Done and Tanya to anyone looking for house cleaning. This was our first time we hired a house cleaning professional and it was well worth it.

She did great. She was prompt and on time. She was very nice and very professional. She did a great job. i have no complaints and would definitely recommend them and use them again.

They did a great job! They did the full amount of hours we needed and scheduling was easy. We were very pleased and we'd use them again!

When I called for an estimate, Aaron came over the next day. He was efficient about seeing what I needed done and even answered questions about future projects I had in mind. He said what I needed done would take half a day to do and he would have a bid out to me next week. I received the bid the next week as promised. I had told him I would be calling towards the end of summer to schedule something because I wanted to save up the money and pay in cash. I had another item come up and called Aaron again for an over the phone estimate. The project would cost about $200, so I wanted this done right away. He told me someone would call to schedule an appointment. I waited 3 days with no phone call and then I called back. While talking to the office person, I decided to do everything at once (mostly because they charge a travel fee and I didn't want to pay for every trip back). I had to send 50% of the invoice and then they would schedule me when they received my payment. I sent in a check about a week and a half later. My check was cashed on July 3rd. I called the office in the late afternoon on Monday asking why no one called to schedule my appointment. The office person explained that they were backed up due to the flash flooding emergencies. I told her I completely understood that my projects were not emergencies, but I was going on vacation for 2 weeks starting the next week and I wanted to schedule a date. She said she would call in the next few days. Again no call back, so I call again on Friday. I explain that I'm leaving on vacation the next Monday and all I want to do is schedule something. Get a date for an appointment because I am leaving on vacation. No time did I ever express that I needed an appointment right away. I just needed a date because I work and need to plan when I can be home. I started getting irritated by now because I got the same thing, they were backed up. I asked if she was doing jobs outside the office and she said no. I started to talk more forcefully at this point, but I never yelled. So I asked why she couldn't just schedule something for me and I got more excuses. I asked for my money back. She ignored me and kept going on. I asked for my money back 3 times before she said she would make me an appointment. By that time I didn't want to use them. So I told her it was too late, I just wanted my money back. She told me she couldn't do it and I would have to speak to the owner. Pat called me a few hours later. He explained to me they were backed up and doing jobs until late in the night. Again, I explained I understood that but what I didn't understand why the office people couldn't call me back ever and why I couldn't schedule an appointment until I asked for my money back. He said he would squeeze me in. I told him I didn't need to be squeezed in as I was going on vacation. I wanted to schedule something out in the next 2 to 3 weeks after I got back. Then, a light bulb went off. No one ever asked me when I wanted the appointment and everyone assumed I wanted it right away. He apologized for the confusion and asked if they could still do my projects. I told him it was too late. I just wanted my money back. It was too much of a hassle for me. He apologized and told me he would give me my money back. I was gone on vacation for 2 weeks and fully expected a check in the mail. No. I had to call again today. The office girl remembered me and said she hadn't heard about the outcome of my call with the owner. I explained that I was told I would get my money back. I asked if I needed to go to the office and pick it up or would they mail it. She said they would mail it. Now I am waiting again. I have never been so frustrated! This all went on from beginning of June until the end of July! Now we shall see if I actually get my money back.

I need a kitchen remodeling and I need plumbers to rearrange the plumbing for the drain and the water. I first called Done Done Services and the woman said that they will get right back and call me and they didn't call me for about 3 or 4 days. I might call another plumbers to do it because they never get back and it seems like they don't worry about getting any work done. So I called another plumber and he came right away on that very same day. While this guy was working on it, Done Done Services called and said, "What do you need to be done there again?" I let him talk and he said which sounds like it might be good enough for him to come and work on it. And I said, "You guys are just wasting my time. It has been a week and you didn't come and you are not doing it. I already got somebody working on it." I think they just wait to get a good job to come around and they didn't want to do something like mine. Professionally, they didn't call. I talked to them during my first call and she said to call me then they never did call. I find like these guys are just looking to find something they want to do not the bad stuff. They are very very selective. I would just say to other people, "Go find somebody else." People always said that they are really good but I don't know. They just go work to places they want to go and I figured it out that they probably do the work but they don't do the work they don't like.

They came out and said that they couldn't do it because it was beyond the scope of the offer.

It was OK. They came on time and did what they were told to do. I never had experience with their service and thought they have their routine cleaning process instead of need my direction.

Friendly young women. One was on her phone briefly 2-3 times, but both worked mostly steadily for 4 hours each. My list was lost and they continued to work without saying so, but they did most on the list anyway.

The tech. checked out my furnace, blower, condenser. He also clean the condenser unit and checked out my system for freon. He found that everything was in good working order. I had signup for their yearly service.

I paid for 3 hours of house cleaning. When I returned home after work, it was extremely clear that virtually nothing had been done. The rugs were not vacuumed, the counters were not cleaned, the garbage was not emptied, the furniture was not dusted - almost nothing was done. In addition, while I do believe that the hardwood floors were "mopped" - they had streaks and foot prints all over. Another issue is that this company actually charges mileage. I live in Coralville and they drive from Cedar Rapids, but charge for the distance. (I was aware of this before I retained them but just think this is an odd practice). I want to make it clear that the manager and owner went out of their way to correct the problem. The service recovery attempts were greatly appreciated - but as far as I was (am) concerned, the damage had been done and I was not interested in giving them another chance.
