COMFORT HEATING & AIR COND

We purchased a Fujitsu unit from Kelly at Air Comfort for our son's attic room. The unit had a faulty coil and was only marginally functional from the start. Air Comfort came out two or three times to try and fix it and for a while it seemed to work. This winter when it got cold it stopped functioning altogether, so we called them. We had many service calls, each with a technician who was unable to fix the problem. Eventually they diagnosed it as a faulty unit and removed it. All told, the unit was out of commission from October through January, each time with an explanation that the part hadn't arrived. Finally it was replaced and fixed, though the technicians did not replace the shelter we'd built to protect the unit from ice falling from the eaves. Weren't we surprised when we got a 600.00 bill for labor from Air Comfort. They had never charged for any of the other calls because they had told us the unit was under warranty, so this was a shock. When we emailed Kelly to ask, he told us that the labor was not covered. We offered to work with him, but he responded with a note that concluded with a threat to take us to collections. When I wrote back, his tone got even nastier saying that there would be consequences if I "told people a lie about air comfort." All of this is factual. I cannot recommend them, They did sub-standard work and refused to admit they were at fault, blaming the manufacturer. When we offered to work with them, they were unfriendly and threatening. I am really sorry we contracted them. All the "friendly local business stuff" went right out the window when something went wrong. We are going to pay them, but I will never use them or Fujitsu again. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

This guy actually came back 2 or 3 times but he didn't charge us a ton of money each time he had to return. The first issue we had was a leaky air conditioner in the basement. The problem had been looked at by a different company but it wasn't fixed. The guy from Comfort Heating and A/C came and cleared out the drain pipe, but that didn't work so he had to come back another day. He took the panel off and found a couple of holes in the drain pain. He fixed those. His first visit was about $70, but he only charged $10 for the second visit. Then, unluckily as it seems, the outdoor compressor quit working on us not even a week later. This is completely unrelated to the leak in the main unit. The guy came back out on a SATURDAY and fixed it for us for only $80. He said it was because he lived close by so it was no big deal and it was dumb that the bigger dealers charge an arm and a leg for Saturday service when he only was there for 20 minutes, max. The cost was mostly for the part. He's a very laid back guy and I'll call him if I ever have any other problems with my A/C.
