Description of Work: Probably would not call them first again. Really nice guy but thought the service and part were very overpriced. Am asking around to be prepared next time.

 + -1 moreHired this company because one of the basement drains occasionally overflowed. They supposedly cleared it out and said the problem was solved (IT WASN'T!). They had to come back when it backed up and overflowed the entire basement shortly after, but only after questioning us as to whether it was somehow our fault (after they had JUST supposedly fixed the problem for $600!). Also, they have an extremely short "warranty" (like 41 days or some other arbitrary number) which is way too short if they actually believed their work would last. Also, the estimate was far less than what it actually cost, even after they "forgot" to do one of the things they were hired for, and then tried to charge us for it twice. When it came to fixing a dripping faucet, they took a lot of time for what seemed like a minor thing, and then put our bathtub faucets on backwards. That wouldn't have been a big deal, but when we asked them to switch them back to what they were, they told us that we were wrong and this was the way they should be (even though we have lived in the same house for 22 years and know which direction our faucets turn.) Whatever happened to the customer being right?!
Description of Work: Put a little "snake" down the basement drain to clear it out and fixed a dripping faucet in the bathroom.

 + -1 moreIt was very bad. The original plumber acted as if he knew what he was doing but clearly did not. From then on I have used another company for this test. Because of the way we were treated by Ben Franklin Plumbing I have suggested people use someone else whenever the need arises.
Description of Work: I am a Realtor in Cedar Rapids Iowa. My buyers hired this company to do a video of the sewer system to ensure that it was not Orangeburg sewer pipe which eventually collapses in Iowa. The company's technician did the video and determined that the sewer pipe was Orangeburg. When the sewer company started to dig it up they determined it was not Orangeburg and did not need to be replaced. Because the company's plumber incorrectly determined that it was Orangeburg, the company should have paid the sewer company's bill of $500 for digging up the yard to begin with, but they refused. NO one should use this company. They promise timeliness and low cost but I do not think they really know what they are doing. At least from my experience they do not. Last, when contacted to pay the bill they refused even though it was their error that caused us to get a backhoe sewer company to dig up the yard to replace the sewer pipe. They never did pay for the job and the other Realtor and I got stuck with it.
