Description of Work: 5 years ago I purchaced a full kitchen with cupboards, counter tops and under mounted sink from Benton building center. I was told the sink I bought would last 50 years with not much upkeep other than using soft srcub and a rag. If anything did happen they would stand behind the sink for 50 years. At $500 for the sink I thought wat a great deal. The sink was a Karran sink Now 5 years later and full of chips the person I 1st delt with is gone. The next person I delt with is gone. And the two new people were rude and degrading. They said they both have this sink and if I had taken care of it by filling in with apoxy and sanding as chips appeared I would not have the problems I have. this was not part of the $500 and 50 year sink I paid for. They did send someone out to reserface the sink. The sales people at Bentons have insulted me as to how I keep my sink clean and how I need to clean it every time I do dishes. They also said the chips were from silverware being used in the sink! Last I knew silverware was part of doing dishes!. My cupboards and counter top are excellent. The Karran sink is a bad product and was not presented to me at the time in the right way according to them. So they would tell me now 5 years later the right way. The staff at Bentons was rude and degrading on how they handled this situation. The company did mail me a non abrasive pad to use on the sink.....it came with 66 cents postage due. I would not have so much of a problem with this whole thing except how I was degraded as a customer by the manager and his sales person. I understand things go wrong and so what if I was miss lead when I bought the sink. But to talk down to a customer like they were a dirty piece of crap is uncalled for. This sink looked worse than the 35 year old sink that came out of the house. When I set a time for the repair person to come out I asked for a Saturday so I would not miss time from work, as I felt i was already loosing money on their product. They refused saying I could get a nieghbor or relation or friend to come out. When I said no they said "what do you do in other times you need off work durring the week!" I think it is none of their buisness and I just wanted to share how rude they have been and how they have made us feel. They will never get a refrence from us just based on their attitude in dealing with this on a personal level. It seems that they were great until they got their money. The repair man they sent out was great and very nice. The staff at Bentons are nice until they get your money. Then they are rude and degrading. Buyer be ware.
