We refinanced our home mortgage, with US Bank and the Loan Officer said the bank contracts with the company, so we agreed to use the company. They called to schedule the appointment in a timely manor, And I believe were on time for the appointment. When we received the appraisal, we were shocked. The appraisal was $20,000 LESS than the appraisal three years ago. Even though the report noted no significant changes in property values. Furthermore, a home right across the street sold in December, closed in January and was recorded by the time the appraisal was done on our home and was NOT in the comparable property's. The closest comparable was a little over a half mile away toward the south, headed toward the College district. It's my opinion the appraiser did not do due diligence in performing this appraisal.
