VAPOR VIPER

Josh from Vapor Viper was really great to work with. We had a clog somewhere between our house and our septic tank. The other contractor we had out working on a different issue that was discovered as a result of the clog called him once we realized there really was a clog and the issue we were working on was a secondary problem. He was a one man show so don't be surprised if he asks you for help. In my case he didn't, but i could see where he may need a 2nd set of hands. But he knew what he was doing and took care of the problem quickly. I will definitely call him again should we need his help.

Dye test showed water to septic tank going to sump for ground seepage in basement. Called Vapor Viper and they ran vid cam thru line and found the break. This narrowed the repair area to a 2 square foot area ( rather than digging 60 ft to expose break - part of which was under concrete) saving many hundreds of dollars in repair. Actual time to find break in line was only 1/2 hour. The bill was a little high but they traveled 60 miles round trip and saved me a bunch so I didn't complain. If the call had been local the charge may have been less. Absolutely worth the money and I would recommend them.

Vapor Viper man arrived on Thursday as scheduled working by himself. He asked me to carry camera down to basement while he carried reel of snake cable. He did not wish to enter main sewer line because he was afraid he would break the cast pipe so he went in via the floor drain plug which bypasses the trap. Then he asked me to get a crescent wrench to remove the plug after loosening the plug with a hammer and chisel. We viewed television and he explained what we were seeing. Mis-aligned clay tile, mud and a broken piece of tile, which he managed to push with his camera. He said the clay tile was broken as surface water was seen on camera after I went outside and put a garden hose into surface hole. He said that I needed to have the sewer system repaired and asked me if I had anybody lined up to repair this sewer system. I said no, I have no experience with sewer systems. He said he knew someone and called him on his cell phone. He gave the phone to me and we made an appointment for the following Monday with person on the phone to fix the problem. He then went outside to locate break. He took his wand and told me the approximate location of the break. When he was done in the basement, he did not bring the correct size plug with him so instead of going back out to truck to get one, he loosely placed the damaged plug back in the inspection hole he previously removed with a chisel and hammer allowing sewer gas to enter the basement. His attitude, manners and conclusions made me feel extremely anxious and vulerable. I did not sleep all night. Next day, I was a nervous wreck, so I called a friend of mine. He consoled me and gave me the name of reputable sewer man he had dealt with before to discuss my problem. I called this person and he came soon after and made the situation seem alot less frightening, calmed me and promised the situation would not be as bad as it seemed.Using the location provided by Vapor Viper resulted in a waste of time. I had to call another plumber with a camera to come and re-scope the drain. Another $125.00 to view and locate. The break was 10 feet from where Vapor Viper had located it. Vapor Viper cost me an additional $400(digging incorrectly located hole) plus what Vapor Viper charged.

The guy traveled almost 40 miles (80 round trip) and arrived right on time. He used a camera, snaked through the sewer line to find the break. Unfortunately the break was under the concrete garage floor. When he was done he marked the floor when the break was at and I did the excavation and repair next day. His mark was right on - less than 6 inches from the break. I thought his price was just a little high, but that might have been in part due to the distance he had to travel. Still well worth it though. Rather than did up half my garage floor to find the break, I only had to remove and repair about 6 sqft. This fellow was courteous, professional and all around nice guy. Response to my call was quick and the whole search took less than 30 minutes from unload equipment to packing up and driving away. Absolutely recommend his services.
