Purchased tile/accesories from Carpetland, they have a great selection. The problem stemmed from the installer. Word of warning--if you purchased flooring from Carpetland, do NOT use Lee as an installer. The install was supposed to be 3 days, turned into 2 months. Lee likes to drop names of people that he has done tile jobs for in the past. Let me tell you, he REALLY dropped the ball on our job. He is not punctual, and will avoid phone calls and on our job he sent his helpers to do the work and it was awful. The grout job was terrible, the follow thru was terrible. Even after Lee and quot;fixedand quot; the job, it still looks bad. It looked like children did the work. I wish I could attach photos. Lee never offered a refund on his fees, instead he offered $200 credit on the next job, yeah right! Like I couldn't figure out that he would just jack up the fees for the next job. What doesn't make any sense to me, is the fact that I showed him the next 2 projects in our home and he stil sent his flunkies out to do the work. It is embarrassing to admit we paid for the installation. Horrible experience. I took my concerns to the manager at Carpetland. I told him that we would fix the job ourselves so he ordered the grout and caulk that we need, free of charge. He knows how to manage a business. We will consider ordering Carpetland in the future. We WILL be installing the tile ourselves.

Ten months later, however, I'm in a wheelchair, and I realized that the carpeting was breaking down already from my bedroom to the kitchen--high traffic area. I called them back and they came out right away and showed me an industrial strength carpeting, and were able to install it all in one day at no cost. Larry did a marvelous job. I wante the world to know that Larry A is the best carpet layer around! He cleaned up every bit of mess afterward. They assured me that the industrial carpet would last because it has very low nap. I definitely got what I wanted, and it's really hard to tell that we changed it out.

They did follow through and they did what they said they were going to do in terms of the work. The quality of the carpet and the laying of the carpet were fine. What I would warn people about is their financing. We were going to get 0% interest for 16 months or something. When we read the fine print it turned out that if we miss 1 payment or if we are a little bit late, the whole thing comes due and there's interest on top of that so there's a balloon payment at the end. We were lucky enough that we had money that we could go ahead and pay it off instead of doing it month by month and get caught by a surprise like that. The 0% interest sounds good though.

We needed flooring for our kitchen/mud room. Had no idea what we wanted. Went to the store and talked to Mike Rinehart. He showed us different options and let us take some home to look at. He came to the house and measured for the job and talked to us about the plus and minuses of different choices. We chose vinyl tile. We felt very comfortable with what we chose based on his knowledge of the products and our need. We coordinated service with the contractor and the floor was installed at the appropriate time. there was a piece that didn't seem to be laying right and it was fixed right away. I find this to be a very customer oriented business. After our flooring was installed, another employee(can't remember her name) talked with me about the best cleaning options, which also proved to be true. I guess I think that it is just as important to be an honest and outgoing consumer, when you work with a company, as it is for the company to welcome your openness. this is what we found to be true for our Carpetland. Carpetland will always be our first choice when we are thinking about flooring.

We started our search for flooring at Carpetland in Burlington, IA because we had a previous positive experience with them from having carpeted a bedroom. Mike Reinhart answered all our questions about vinyl flooring. We were very unsure about what type of vinyl flooring we should use to cover both our kitchen and a new back porch that we were having built. Mike agreed to come to our home and see what we were trying to accomplish and made recommendations from that point. We showed him our color choices for the walls/trim. Then we met him at the store the following Saturday. He showed us some vinyl tiles that complimented our color choices. We were able to bring them home to see what we thought. We made our decision and when the contractor was at the point where it was time for the flooring to be installed, we called Mike who lined up the installation right away. It was done in less than a day. we had some questions about a couple spots and Mike came over again to talk with us. He requested that the installer return to reglue a couple spots, which was done to perfection. It was very important to us that Mike cared about what we were doing and that he helped us by giving us information and choices to make great decisions. We have recommended Carpetland to many of our friends, which was the reason we went there the first time because someone had shared their great experience with us. Carpetland will be our choice in the future for any of our flooring needs.
