BROWN'S LANDSCAPING

I was not happy with the work, the design, or the price. (I could have been very happy with the price if the work had been satisfactory.) All of this company's designs look the same. I wanted a certain type of materials used and was talked out of it ? they said the flagstone materials I wanted to use would not be stable. I suspect that she really wanted to use the materials she was accustomed to and uses on every installation she does. This was done in the fall, after a plumbing problem had been fixed in my yard. As she got closer to being finished she voiced concern that it might be better to wait until spring and finish it after the ground had had a chance to settle through one freeze/thaw season. I told her, "Fine. You make the decision. You are the one with the education and that's why I hired you." She came back the next day and said she would finish it now rather than later because it would be messy through the winter otherwise. She also said her husband told her it would be better to finish it now. (He isn't the one with the landscape architecture degree, by the way.) I suspect that what they really wanted was to finish it so they could be paid in full. Indeed, in the spring the ground had settled and the wall was sagging. I had to pay her to come back and repair it. So, I not only was talked into material I didn't really like, it wasn't any more stable than the materials I did like, and it ended up costing me to have them fix their screw up. In addition, the fill dirt that was used was of a very poor quality, almost impossible to work.
