He dropped hot wax on our new carpet. It cost $100 to have a carpet professional come in and repair it. Mr. McCombs said he would re-imburse us for the repair. Over the next 13 months and numerous calls to him, he has never come through with any of his many "promises" to re-imburse us the $100. We are not only unhappy that he has not re-imbursed us, but also very unhappy with the fact that he has never followed through with the many times he said he would either drop a re-imbursement off at our home or mail it to us. His actions have been very unprofessional and disappointing.
Description of Work: We had Mr. McCombs (The Pool Table Mechanic) disassemble our pool table for storage. Then we had him re-assemble our pool table when we moved into our new home.

Response from The Pool Table Mechanic
I did work as described by client. Additionally I repaired chipped and broken slate and made some missing parts to be able to assemble table. I did not charge extra for those extra sevices (In hindsite I should have). I did have some melted wax drip on the floor (quarter size spot) from the slate repair I was unaware of at time of service. Client contacted me later and ask what it could be? I told them it only could be wax not glue of any kind. Initially they said they weren't looking for money but wanted to know the substance so it could be cleaned up. The carpet company charged them $100 to remove the wax. After paying the bill from carpet company the client then decided I should pay for it. My complaint is that the review of my services for the pool table move (twice) once to storage and 2nd time to home plus the assembly/repair/parts made to complete the job is mischaracterized as quality D, professionalism grade F. Puctuallity grade F. Price grade F etc. I did reluctantly finally agree to pay for carpet repair and did make several arrangements to pay the bill. That was unprofessional. The actual pool table work, professionalism of service, the punctuality, the price charged, the extra services provided should reflect the truth in the client's review. He had an opportunity to discuss the carpet repair payment issue in the comment section. The client reported to the BBB that my services provided were subpar, unprofessional, not timely, etc. which is untrue as far as pool table services provided. The issue was with the carpet cleaning/repair of the quarter size melted wax and my payment delays after agreeing reluctantly to make payment for carpet cleaning/repair. No bill from the carpet company's services were ever provided by client. I will own my mistakes with the payment for the carpet repair but will not let a client misrepresent the quality of my work as far as the move, repair , and completion of the pool table work for the client.
