This is the worst quality home we've ever purchased and we bought with Kimberley because they led us to believe it would be the complete opposite. One would think the house would have been very well put together since the foundation was dug on December 9th 2015, poured December 16th, 2015, and yet it was another nearly 10 months before we closed on the house (August 26th, 2016, not by our delay). We're quickly learning Kimberley seems quick to walk away from their commitment to quality. Our pre-close walkthrough took over 1 1/2 hours due to all the construction and cosmetic issues we noticed. As it progressed, Rick (Kimberley's third-party warranty rep) began rushing us with a claim that he had a "dinner date". Then, because we were noticing so many cosmetic issues, Rick told us to simply put post-it notes he'd brought along on each cosmetic issue. He assured us those items would be addressed despite not being written in the pre-close punch list. I won't digress in this review to cover Rick's arrogant and condescending nature. Here we are 10 months and a leaking foundation later. We've had 16 subs come out already and have a remaining punch list of over 60 items. The exterior of our house has been in need of a paint job since early March when a sub came through and used a whole box of caulk caulking all the areas the previous two siding subs had missed and replaced broken siding that the initial siding sub thought appropriate to install (and damaged one of our cedar deck steps in the process - who knows if anything else was damaged). We're told we're "on a wait list for paint" but should it really take over four months to get someone out to paint the house? Because we trusted Rick when he told us to simply mark the cosmetic issues with sticky notes rather than have him take the time to write each item down, we're now being told Kimberley will not address the cosmetic items because they were "not noted on the pre-close punch list". These include paint where we can see the drywall mudline through the paint, trowel drag marks in the drywall mud, and streaked stain where we can see not only where they ran the stain rags, but in one particular spot where they touched the board while the stain was still wet (this is on the face of a shelf in our living room). Furthermore, due to the cracked, leaking foundation (it leaks when we do so little as to run our sprinkler system), we thought it wise to hire an engineer to come do a survey on the house. We don't have his final report but he noticed several code violations with the house. Not even 1/3 of the way through the house, he indicated he'd seen sufficient evidence of poor craftsmanship to give him proper representation of the low-quality of work and will note as such in his report. We have a wall that leans one inch over four feet, as verified by our engineer, yet Rick relayed to Kimberley that the wall only leans "1/4 inch" so Kimberley has stated they will not address that. The engineer further noted not a single door jamb in this house is plumb and our kitchen island countertop was shockingly out of level. We also cannot forget how our contract clearly states the subfloors were to be glued and screwed yet when carpet was pulled up to confirm this (after being told by Rick and Kimberley that they would not address our squeaky, popping floors and wondering why this was the case when they were to have been glued and screwed), it discovered the floors are indeed not screwed down. We have a stone fireplace in the living room. At the top corner, the sub who installed the stone veneer sloppily put cut ends of stone facing out. There's another stone that was cut too long so they installed it at an angle. And, there's a spot where the veneer is pulling away from the wall. We're not sure what's going on there but Kimberley is so far refusing to address any of this. One of our deck support beams is also leaning significantly - I didn't catch the engineer's measurement. We're told by Kimberley that's "within reason due to normal settling". The engineer will confirm what is within reason. I started out giving Kimberley the benefit of the doubt that they'd stand behind their work. I no longer have that sentiment toward Kimberley. This has been an absolutely disgusting nightmare.
