Dan's had one group of workers who coordinated the brush clearing and a separate group who handled the grass. For clearing brush, I was pleased with the estimated cost ($735). They cleared brush on one day, then came back to grind stumps on another day. The stump grinder had to come twice, because the first time they missed about half of the stumps, but it wasn't a major issue for me. The stump grinder also dug up some of the grass, but there's probably no other way to get heavy machinery through my yard, and the damage wasn't too bad. Overall, I was happy with the brush clearing portion of the work. For planting seed, there were several steps take. First, they sprayed herbicide to kill off groundcover and weeks. Later, they brought in dirt to level that area and then rototilled. They then applied seed and fertilizer. I have been impressed with how well the grass in that section has grown, and they did a good job leveling to prevent pooling of water. My only complaint is that the cost of this portion ($750) seemed high. But I knew the price up front, and decided to hire them anyhow. They had to come back three times to prep the area, so that might have contributed to the cost. Overall, I would hire them again, and have been pleased with their work. Communication was generally good once the job was scheduled, and even when I had questions after the work was completed.

Long response time ...with no system to let you know they didn't forget you. Possibly result of very uncentralized office procedures. People, when you finally see them, pleasant, knowledgeable, sensitive to cost issues, professional. Expensive for us, but large hillside lot is more labor intensive. Wherever I've seen their work and our experience is the work is very well done. Once we got first contact and estimates, which we accepted, the scheduling of the work was prompt, work promptly and professionally performed.

Came out to look and estimate. Took a while for the estimate then took a while for them to come and do the work. We also wanted bids for lawncare and snow removal for our 59 unit 9 building condos. They seem to have too many divisions and getting anyone to bid on this work never happened. At least that is what the tree trimming person that gave the tree bid said. He said he would ahve someone call us and tey never did. We called and left messages and no return call from them was ever received.

I called to schedule a time to get my lawn core aerated for the fall. I spoke with Dan for about an hour as he answered all of my questions, gave me suggestions, and even looked up the history of my yard from before I moved in to let me know what the old owners did. I was especially impressed that he gave me some options for future lawn care but advised me against one or two that were very expensive (and most lucrative for him). He was very realistic in his assessment of what various treatments could do or not do. My only slight criticism (B for professionalism) is that the employee who came to do the work never notified us that what he was doing or what company he was with. We were a little startled hearing a loud machine and a strange truck in front of our house with no notice. But a minor complaint. I would definitely use this company again.

I sent a request for an estimate for lawn mowing and care and I received an email asking for my address. After supplying them with my address nothing happened. I never saw them or heard from them again. No one called or emailed again, so I didn't use them.

They have been reliable and thorough. They are punctual and the employees have been extremely nice. I would recommend them to anyone.

Although we had been using a lawn service for years, our lawn looked awful. We noticed that many homeowners on our street used Dan's. We hired them a couple of years ago and are very pleased with the results. Our grass is much thicker and our lawn looks much, much better. We have also used Dan's for tree removal. Dan's prices are competitive. They do a good job and clean up after themselves. We are very pleased with the services they have provided. I recommend them wholeheartedly!

We've always been satisfied with the work they've done. I also like how they respond to any of our requests. They are pretty friendly and do a nice job cleaning up after themselves.
