TERRIBLE PLACE! Scammed me out of 700 bucks! Hopefully this review helps someone else out there looking to replace a water heater. I filled out an online service request over the weekend for a 40-gallon electric water heater and laundry valves to be replaced, C&K called me Monday with an $1,100 estimate. Wednesday they send out an hvac guy (3:30) and we remove the already drained water heater and wait an hour for the actual plumber guy to show up. The new water heater gets installed, no new laundry valves, which isn't a huge deal but the final price they asked for when it was time to go (5:30) was $1800!! I couldn't believe it and couldn't get an itemized receipt because the technicians said, "their pay app wasn't working" and I couldn't speak to the guy who quoted the $1100 because the office was closed. The 2 technicians at my house said this EXACT THING HAS HAPPENED BEFORE WITH THE GUY THAT GAVE ME THE ESTIMATE. I paid the full amount and went into their office Thursday morning to try and figure it all out. Their response was that they don't record outgoing calls so there is no proof and the guy that gave the quote just denied it. And still no receipt of the work done. Home Depot offered the same service for $1399, and I foolishly declined thinking C&K was a better option. Never again! Had planned on replacing our furnace and AC with this company sometime in the fall but that will not be happening. Filed complaint with BBB.

I'm confused. I never used these services, I live a long ways from Ames, Ia.

The worked me in a bit early so I could make it to an appointment that came up at the last minute. It was explained as they went along what they were doing. They got done in plenty of time for me to make it to my appointment.

Well - price seemed high for a small amount of work.

Everything went well. Installation and adaptation to my existing ducts was exactly as I wanted it. The price seemed high, but they were actually the lowest of 3 local bids.

They charged 2/3rds of another local company for the same equipment. The installer was on time, did a good job, kept me informed of progress, cleaned up when he was done, and gave thoughtful answers to my maintenance questions.

Smooth as silk. On time, great sensors/tools, two thumbs way up!

From the beginning to the end all service was outstanding. No hidden costs. Honest, straightforward, timely and dependable communication. A very positive experience! Highly recommend C&K.

They have always provided the services that they was contracted to do and always have reasonable prices.

We used them for a number of years now. They have been fantastic from on-going services to installing the new furnace and air conditioner in that old house. They're still good. Their service guys and everyone are absolutely fantastic. I don't think I could say enough good things ab out them actually.

They were on time. They were punctual. They were here when they said they were going to be here. They got the work done in one day. It was kind of an emergency situation. I called them on a Monday and there were here on a Tuesday.

The biggest issue I had is, they have an employee who I have banned from the house. Because he lied, and he made a mess one time in fixing something and swept the crumbs of the sheet rocks that he made while he was doing the work, swept it under my bath mat. So I complained to a supervisor and the supervisor had him call, he didn't reach me but he left a message that was " This is James, I'm sorry I made a mess, Goodbye" that was his message. The company continued to employ him and when I called, because the geothermal apparently needed some fair amount of tinkering to get them right, when I had called for service, I have been very specific, do not send James, I will turn him away and they basically said yes, we're aware of that. I wouldn't hire them again, I'm not so angry with him that I'm telling everyone about the job that they did, so when someone brings up heating and they're asking for recommendations, I recommend other companies.

They came on time, they were knowledgeable and professional. They met all of our expectations.

It worked out fine. The price was reasonable. They have good workers and they did good work. I don’t have any complaints about anything. We’ll use them again. I think they hire some really good professional help.

I've always been satisfied with C and K's work. They worked with me really well on all of that. They also installed the original HVAC system in the house 'till I moved in years before I bought it. So, we initially figured and they knew the system that was already in the house and I have lived in this house for almost 15 years and I don't have any complaints about them at all.
