Terry's Quality Concrete

Overall the work was done (Fall 2019) fairly well and from the curb it all looks nice. The workers were very polite and pretty punctual, hard working, and respectful. Unfortunately, there was a lot of miscommunication along the way, and some sloppy work on both the concrete and retaining walls. The layout of the steps changed and resulted in a lower walkway/steps than what they tore out, which required me to lay a couple extra courses of block and caps myself later to keep the adjacent landscaping from sliding onto the concrete. The front stoop looks great and the brick repair they did was well done. The driveway looked great after the concrete stage was finished, but when they returned to do the walls, they left a lot of scars and scratches from their skid loader scraping the driveway and turning on loose gravel, and they set a spinning saw down on the driveway leaving a pretty good sized cut in an obvious place. They did come back in the Spring 2020 and patch the gouges and holes and cuts with concrete patch but the color doesn't match well at all. We agreed to widen the approach about 3-4 feet, but that ended up maybe 20 inches wider. It works (I added a 3rd stall), but not what we talked about. They made a surprising attempt to do some pretty non-conventional/ugly course laying on one of the walls that we halted and rectified, a course that was not straight that they did return and fix, and wall corner joins that I don't really like but will live with. They were pretty pushy about getting paid for the concrete stage halfway through the project, when I was told by the owner/estimator they wouldn't take anything until the project was complete and I was happy with the work. I paid them, but I can't say I'm completely happy with the work.

I have had absolutely horrible luck with hiring contractors in the past. I always seem to pick the person that doesn't show up for an estimate, doesn't ever get back to me with an estimate, or does shoddy work. I was ready to call quite a few different companies and get multiple estimates and "feel them out" before hiring someone for this project. The first company I called was Terrys Quality Concrete. Shannon answered the phone, sounded very professional and set up an appointment for an estimate. I was emailed a reminder about the appointment which is a small thing but impressed me nonetheless. The morning of the appointment, I was texted by Shannon telling me that he is on his way and will be here on time. Again, small detail but it impressed me. He showed up and we went over what I was wanting done. I was expecting an estimate in a week or so, but instead was told that he would write one up and have it ready for me in about 20 minutes. NICE! After about 20 minutes, he knocked on the door and had a very professional folder to hand to me. Inside was all of their insurance information, and a very nicely typed up estimate. I had no clue at all what something like this would cost, which is why I wanted to shop around a little bit. After talking to my wife, we decided that we were impressed enough that there was no need to shop around. The estimate seemed fair enough, and so far they seemed reliable. He called the next week to let us know that they would get started the following week- which is way sooner than I expected. We had a slight weather delay but that is to be expected in early spring. I was very happy with the work they did. The slab is poured exactly how I wanted, and most importantly it drains the correct way with no low spots to pool water (unlike the previous concrete work I had done) Will DEFINITELY use them again, and recommend to anyone I know needing concrete work done.

Tim came and gave us an estimate. He took the time to talk to me about what exactly they would do and why it wouldn't crack and crumble like the old one was. I got estimates from others who stopped by when I wasn't home and left an estimate in the door. I had no idea if they knew anything about concrete work. I don't remember if Terry's was higher or lower but it was comparable to the others, and I felt like they would do a good job after talking to Tim. We got on their schedule and they came in August to do the work. Behle and his crew were great! Very nice and they did a great job. When the forms came off the step, there was a spot on the front that Behle wasn't happy with. He sent someone to patch it. Unfortunately, the patch never cured the same color as the step. After a month, when it still hadn't cured the same color, I contacted him. By this time it was mid to late Sept. Fall was rough to get projects done but he arrived today and fixed it. It looks fantastic! I've been wanting to write this review since last year because they were such great guys and the work was really beautiful, but I couldn't recommend them until the patch was fixed. I didn't tell him anything about writing a review if they came back, kept that to myself because I wanted to make sure he'd come back on his own without being coerced so I could give an outstanding review and say I trust them to make sure the project is done right and the customer is happy with their work. If we need concrete work done in the future, I probably won't mess with estimates from anyone else.

Service was done in a prompt manner and clean up was also done. Quick results, courteous, and very helpful with explanations of what was being done

It went great! The estimater returned my call within 30 minutes and was able to schedule a site visit within two days. He came out and explained everything and what to expect. They were very cautious to do as little ground disruption as possible and left the place as clean as it was when they got there. They followed up afterwords to see if there were any questions or issues.

I had a driveway and foundation repair issue that I had another company complete a couple years ago. It never seemed correct, and we continued to have some leaking issues when it rained hard. Two of my neighbors used Terry's and spoke highly of them, so I called and it turned out to be the best decision! They came out, INSPECTED everything, and then they sat down with me to explain the problem- the solution- and the process. Right away I knew they had the experience we needed. I also knew I wanted to extend our large driveway, and they explained how to do it properly, and in a cost effective way. They also explained how they perform the work so that it will last. The amount of preparation they did was well planned and I could tell it was going to be trouble free. There was no huge mess, and all the guys were very respectful. There was no last minute expenses, or changes, or issues of any kind. Very refreshing to work with this company!
