 + 0 moreI primarily worked with Dave Anderson at Royal Flooring. When shopping for tiles, Dave was very helpful. But after agreeing on a price for installation, he was never able to find an installer to schedule the job. Initially we were told the installation would take place in March, then each month it got pushed back to the following month. Eventually after 5 months I cancelled the order, because it was clear that it wasn't going to ever happen. I wish I had cancelled sooner. I can think of several possible reasons for why Dave had trouble scheduling my job, including the fact that I live about 40 minutes from the Altoona store. Regardless of the possible causes of my bad experience at Royal Flooring, I will never shop there again. The only positive thing to say is that Dave was always very responsive when I called him for updates.
Description of Work: Royal Flooring provided an estimate for tiling two small bathrooms. I agreed to hire them, but five months passed without getting the job scheduled, so I finally cancelled and hired another company. It was extremely disappointing.

custom cabinets
 + -1 moreThey installed new floors in the living room and hallways and entry room. They had to make three trips out to get it done right.. They installers left the house with large hole in between the floor and the door and filled it with putty instead of cutting the board right. They floors moved apart in many places. The one week kitchen project took 3 months to finish after product was not ordered right after some product wasn't order at all. Lot of the product came in damaged. They had excuses after excuses and now the finish is coming off the cabinets . They stated you have children.. Even tho most of that is on the wall cabinets that my preschooler cant reach.

 + -1 moreWe replaced our 20yr old carpeting with porcelain tile. The tile is manufactured to look like a weathered wood floor. The whole process went very well. The estimate and final price were right on target. The installers were very professional, and very particular about laying the tile. We are very pleased with the service we received from the store, the quality of the work done by the installers and the product itself. After 6 months, we've had absolutely no problems. Besides being beautiful, the new flooring is so easy to clean.
Description of Work: Installed porcelain tile in our living room.

 + 0 moreThey guided us to the best possible carpet at our price point and they really explained what types of carpets we should put in our house based on our family. The installation was really fast, it was done in a day and the crew was clean and very respectful while we were home and they were doing it. We've been really happy. We'd never had carpet laid before and so we're really happy with how it turned out.

 + 3 moreThe designer and salespeople were accessible at every turn. They answered my seemingly endless questions; listened and provided options during the design process; showed patience and flexibility in the and quot;re-designsand quot; before the final plan; and made sure the final product was as it should be. What started as, and quot;maybe I'll change the flooring and possibly countertops,and quot; ended as a complete kitchen remodel from floor to ceiling. Royal handled the flooring, cabinets, hardware, granite, and appliances. Laura spent hours with me on the design, ordered the cabinets, and worked with the installer to complete the final details. The finished space is much more functional. Entertaining is a pleasure and makes me smile every time I get to use and share my kitchen. I have Royal Flooring to thank for that!
Description of Work: I had visited Royal Flooring to look at flooring samples. There were so many I liked, it made it made it difficult to choose. While recuperating from surgery, a salesperson came to view the oak trim work and returned with eight sample boards. I eliminated three and she left five behind, giving me extended time to move samples around the area to determine which I liked the best next to existing woodwork, furniture, and entryway tile. She returned to collect samples and we started another discussion about replacing countertops. We visited a stone yard to view full slabs of a sample seen at Royal. We also discussed appliance options. Though I stayed with my original flooring choice, I decided to remodel the kitchen instead of changing the flooring throughout my house. That decision brought Laura, Royal's designer, into the picture. I knew immediately which painted cabinet choice from the DuraSupreme sample wall I loved. From there, Laura spent countless hours with me measuring the kitchen and providing plans with the same layout, sharing ideas for possible redesign of the space plan, offering suggestions to extend the kitchen into the dining room (giving me additional countertop and cabinet storage), and sharing the details of cabinet options. Laura spent additional time designing at the computer and asking for price quotes with each request I made. Once the product was delivered, Laura checked in, worked with the installer on details of the plan, and immediately reordered one cabinet due to shipping damage. Throughout the entire process, Laura made me feel like a valued customer who deserved satisfaction in the final product.

 + -1 moreBad. They began installing flooring in an area that was to be tiled. They did not follow instructions. The gap between boards is larger than that specified by manufacturer. They damaged a built-in cabinet. Several rows of flooring are much lighter than the rest of the floor. They installed a damaged threshold and have not replaced it. They have ceased returning phone calls.
Description of Work: Royal Flooring installed approximately 1900 square feet of engineered hardwood.
