NEPPLE ELECTRIC

We had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Nepple Electric in Alta, Iowa. The primary problem, in my opinion, was the excessive material (not labor!) charge of $100 for one four-inch can light housing and trim. I have had to show others the bill as they responded with disbelief when informed of the amount of this materials charge. In my opinion six man-hours for a job like this (quote: ?Add outlet to soffit and change sink light in remodel kitchen?) is excessive. It may (?) have included more than the work itself (e.g., two workers driving to another vendor to purchase parts) -- that is part of the point, I am not sure because no itemized work-time report was made available to me (my inquiry in this area was simply and abruptly dismissed). The company was, in my opinion, wholly dismissive of my inquiries and objections -- in my opinion a "Too bad for you, this is what we are charging, now pay up"-attitude sums it up. In my opinion this company did not look out for the best interests of me as one of its clients; in fact, quite the contrary, they seemed to be indifferent regarding what I considered excessive and gauging pricing for labor and (especially) materials. I trusted them and they did not honor that trust. I have had good experiences with other area electricians, but thought I would try this more local company. Big mistake.... I will not use Nepple Electric again and I will inform others of my experiences.
