We had a large tree (about 40' tall) fall onto our garage roof during the storm that came through our area Sept 19, 2013. Heartland is our regular lawn care and yard work provider, so I called Jeremy to see if they could help us in removing it and hauling it away. He came out the same day I called and emailed the cost for the work to me that evening so I could forward it on to my insurance company. He also told me that he would come out on Sunday to begin the removal process, which he estimated would take two days: one to get it off the roof and the next to finish hauling it away. Early Sunday morning, Jeremy arrived and brought his tree guy to assist. Between them, they were not only able to get the entire tree removed from the garage roof, but they were able to cut down the trunk in such a way that they could load the entire tree and get it off our property in one trip. While they were here, Jeremy noticed that there were a few other trees in our backyard that had suffered some damage to their branches from the windstorm and had his crew trim them as well at no addtional cost. We were extremely pleased with the quality of the work and the quick response to our situation. Because of them, we were able to have the garage roof inspected quickly and take necessary steps needed for repair there.

The service is pretty good. He is reliable. He won't mow if he doesn't need to, especially now because it has been really dry. The quality of the work is acceptable. I am not usually there during the time of the work but he always does what he says. There has been a few times that I have tried to contact him and it took him a while to respond.

Second year we have used this service. Went well initially, seems to have fallen off in care of lawn since then.

jeremy did a great job on my raised garden beds and keeps my yard mowed even the neighbors were impressed by his work.

I enjoyed working with Jeremy a lot. He was very courteous, listened attentively to my ideas and answered all my questions. He offered suggestions for plants based on what I told him about my preferences. He was knowledgable but flexible, providing great customer service. I will definitely use Heartland Lawncare again and would highly recommend them.

When I hired this man, I had a list of the things I wanted done: removal of the bushes, flower beds cleaned up, limbs and yard trash removed, trees trimmed and cut down. He said that he could do all of the work and agreed to come back on the week-end. The weather in Iowa has not been good, multiple days of rain and thunder storms. I didn't expect him to work in the rain. He showed up a week late, with no phone call or contact, on a Saturday and chain sawed the bushes off, removed some yard trash and cut down a small evergreen tree. They filled the cart with the debris, promising to come back and cart off the rest and complete the work. That's been 2-weeks. Multiple attempts to reach Heartland Lawn Care by phone and e-mail have been unsuccessful. The web site has been "shut down" and the phone # is no longer in service. Now I have a patch with no bushes, weeds and no rock or mulch. I have multiple beds that still need attendance to remove the debris of weeds and such. I'm certainly not happy with this shabby service and it makes me question Angie's List!!

Jeremy responded promptly to my initial call and came out the next day to do the estimate, which he provided in an email the same day. He was very professional and I felt that his pricing was very fair and reasonable. There were many rainy days which prevented the work being done right away but he called several times to keep me informed. The dirt provider he originally planned to use had gone out of business so he brought dirt from a different source that I rejected. He was very understanding and willingly took the first load away and brought back some very nice black dirt/compost that was perfect for the raised garden that I needed to fill. I couldn't be happier with Jeremy, his crew, and all of the work they did. I would highly recommend him to all of my friends and anyone who refers to Angie's List.

Working with Heartland (Jeremy) was truly a pleasurable experience. Jeremy came out a gave me a bid on the job within a day or two of my call. He itemized all the work that needed to be done and we felt he priced the job fairly . He also honored his coupon :) Jeremy and his crew were out here within a week of us accepting his bid. He showed up the day he said he would Jeremy and his crew were professional, showed up on time and worked steadily (3 days) till the work was completed. I had some very large dead branches on very large oak trees that Jeremy was unable to do himself and within an hour he had a tree jockey on site to take care of those branches. Watching the tree guy climb the trees was amazing in itself. Jeremy did a lot of add on work for us with very little upcharge. Jeremy has a great work ethic, one that seems hard to find! Jeremy came in within $100 of the bid, regardless of the extra work. He took plenty of time to stop and talk with me about planning and the work that needed to be done. He was always pleasant, polite and very professional! I think the thing that impressed me the most was when he came to bid the job, I told him I was looking for a company that did not need to be micro-managed and if they saw something that needed done, they do it. Jeremy's response was that he treats every yard like his own... and HE DID! Needless to say, I would highly recommend Heartland Lawncare!

This lawn was neglected by previous owner. It is looking much better, Heartland is pulling weeds, treating for diseases and fertilizing, as well as mowing, as I am frequently not at the property. Billing seems fair, considering lot size and work done.

Jeremy is a sweet guy with lots of heart. He came to us via a friend's recommendation. He arrived a little late for his initial appointment, but his previous customer ran longer than he thought. He provided advice and an estimate for the work. Several days later we authorized the work and he promptly came out and made the repairs to the lawn including removal of landscaping ties and mulch, installation of sod, roughing up bare spots, planting seed and the first initial watering of the sod. He left an invoice for us that day. I would recommend Jeremy to anyone looking for landscaping jobs.

I have been happy with their work so far. They charge $30 a visit for lawn care and $100 for the gutter cleaning.
