Terrific experience from beginning to end. VERY professional. We visited the showroom, then Brent Potter came to the house to measure, listen to our needs and sketch out designs. I had to go back to the mainland but when I got back, we went to the showroom, made some revisions, got suggestions for the changes, and agreed to a plan for all three rooms--two bedrooms and one office area. These are pretty substantial installations. There are many choices of woods, patterns, etc. We opted for items beyond the basic levels. We got 1. Small bedroom, double wall bed, desk space along an entire wall--height specific for sewing, with two drawer stacks, mouse holes for cords, and a pull out shelf for sewing machine. Beadboard level of trim. Wall bed goes up, out of the way until guest come. 2. Somewhat larger bedroom, queen sized wall-bed, drawers are both sides of bed, remote controlled lighting above the bed for reading, and bookshelves on the one side (other side, drawers are under a window). We chose raised wood design. 3. Office--u shaped desk area, main length is a 10 foot wall with returns on both sides less than 10 feet. Four large file drawers, two drawer stacks (one file drawer and two drawers), plus two upper cupboards and stacker for paper. All sized to the space and care taken for existing windows. A pull out shelf for the photo printer, Some storage tucked back under one side which is perfect for paper, boxes of file folders, etc. Think a space for photography work, genealogy and mundane life tasks, such as bill paying. We chose maple and Italia. The installers were terrific, installed precisely, cleaned up well, adjusted a shelf at our request and explained everything in detail. Very professional company, every person and all products--top experience here or anywhere else we have lived. Local owners and in business for the long haul. Note, wall beds do not include the mattresses but they have a professional relationship with a firm which makes appropriate height mattresses--includes a discount and free delivery. Note on cost: It adds up and every time you add a feature the cost goes up, but when you try to do something for a specific space, even using IKEA shipped here, it really adds up and you cannot get the custom measurements and space and quality you get with their approach and products. We are HAPPY.

We first saw the Organized Hawaii products at the local BIA Show at the Blaisdell Center. We were pretty impressed with the products displayed (including hide-away beds, functional storage units, etc). We had been looking for a trustworthy contractor to build a wall-unit for our daughters' playroom. we wanted something functional, durable, and nice looking. Above all, we wanted a trustworthy contractor... a company with whom we could invest our trust, as well as the appearance of our relatively new home. As it turns out, the entire experience was truly enjoyable. Now if you have worked with contractors, you already know that "enjoyable" is a tall order... and probably hard to believe. But I have to tell you... if ever there were a text-book partnership experience, this was it for us! At the BIA show, we met Brent, who owns the company with his wife. My wife and I chatted with Brent, and then he gave us a catalog (he could tell we were genuinely interested in their products and services). We asked him to give us a call in a few days; he did. We scheduled an appointment, and he arrived to view our home and capture some expectations. We actually asked him to design three different projects, but let him know we would likely start with the playroom. He acknowledged our requests, and... five days later, we had three great designs. Unfortunately, my wife's grandfather passed, and we had to depart for the mainland. Brent was patient, and even extended the deadline in which we could apply our discount. Upon our return to Hawaii, we traded emails with Brent and tweaked the design a bit. (My wife wanted this changed to that, etc)... Believe me: this is not a bad thing. Remember, this is a custom-designed wall unit. We were ecstatic to be able to choose, change, and rearrange any and all aspects of the design... including those aspects that had been initially created by Brent and/or us. We settled on a final design, paid a deposit, and then waited for the project to get started. A few weeks later (after the materials were ordered and received), the installers arrived for the big day. It was, hands down, the best contractor experience - EVER! Yes... and I am trying hard not to gush here... but the experience went over exceedingly well. Every single one of the installers was overwhelmingly nice, courteous, and professional. As the job went on (from about 9:30AM to about 5:00PM), the guys worked quietly and diligently. They took a lunch break, sat outside on the front porch, and then hit the job running again just after noon. Of course, as they progressed, my wife and I peppered (pestered?) them with project-related questions. They not only answered each question thoroughly (which can often be a battle in and of itself), they also assured us of the accurateness of the plan, as well as the march toward a beautiful end result. And what a great end result it is/was! We love the wall unit. And as the man of the house, I can tell that they are a truly trustworthy company... a company with whom you can invest not only your $$ and trust... but also the future value of your home. Bottom line: Organized Hawaii created an AWEsome addition to our home... and they did it with the style, courteousness, and professionalism that should be the standard in contracted improvements. I wish I could submit a picture, but apparently AL does not allow that option.
