Description of Work: I purchased my first home in August 2012. I was looking for a good floor refiinshing company, that was able to restore the original 1960's wood flooring. The home was old and there was some termite damage. Because of the age of the wood, (and my over sensitivity as a new old home buyer!) i was quite concerned about the skill and competence of the contractor i selected. I didnt' want a group of people carelessly stripping off the old finish and going right through the floor! I found Rafal @da Vinci Flooring through the google oracle. His site was unusually informational, with beautiful project pictures and interesting anecdotal / insights about wood and flooring, even information about renewable materials. To me this was proof enough that the guy knew a little more than the average bear. I also found out that he was a professional photographer. This was the deal maker since photographers have that special eye for detail and perfection .. I was very impressed when he arrived on the first day, staying well over 14 hours, to meet the task schedule at hand. His responsibility factor was such that i left him the house keys and stopped checking in after the first day. In the end, i found out that the google oracle had proven true and all knowing once again: the work was amazing. Rafal's attention to detail, skill as a wood craftsman, and even competence as a carpenter restored what was once rust stained, termite eaten, overly laquered, plastic looking wood floors into magnificent honey toned, variated grain, invitingly warm oak wood floors. He replaced all the termite damaged floorboards, with no disruption of the tongue and grooved staggered pattern. Amazing restoration. Completely satisfied, even grateful, since it was the best investment i made in the new old house.

Description of Work: Rafel looked at the jobsite prior to begining work. He was very professional over the phone as well as in the field. He gave us a timeline and met his install dates. He did exactly what he said he was going to do. The floor turned out better than we thought is was going to look. Great Job! Price was very competitive and quality was very good! Rafel was easy to work with and answered all of our questions! We would recommend using him and we would use him again. We re-sanded and re-finished approximetly 500 sf of teak hardwood flooring.

Description of Work: He completely refinished our bamboo flooring. There were a couple of boards that were bowing and he replaced those as well.

Description of Work: We resurfaced our Brazilian Cherry hardwood floors- our living room and bedroom - was about 1,000-1200 sq ft. Floors were in there when I bought the house in 2005- probably hadn't been resurfaced in 10-15 years.

Description of Work: We had Da Vinci Floors refinish our original 1935 hardwood floors.
