Better off getting friends and strangers off the street to move your furniture, they would be as good. The group I had were not experienced movers (professionals). They were all very nice and polite just not very good at their jobs. Being in the military for over twenty years I have moved more times than I care to think about and have seen a lot of movers. I also delivered furniture for several years before I graduated from college so I have a little experience in moving. They wrapped all the furniture but were not very careful in how they handled it. They also did not know how to move a piano efficiently. They did not come with ramps or other equipment to make the job easier and save wear and tear on the furniture. Two quick examples: They set my sofa sleeper on its side directly on the street, no pads or anything to keep the cloth from getting dirty. They also set my wooden bookcase upside down in the street scratching up the topside because they did not know the top from the bottom. What should have taken 4 hours took 8. In their defense the estimate said 8 hours but the estimator said he factored in much of the packing in case I did not get it done before they came. All packing was done with only furniture left in the house but they still took 8 hours. The truck they brought was not big enough for all the furniture so they had to make two trips (professional packers would have had plenty of room in the truck). Paying by the hour this extra trip cost me $200. The insult to me was paying them by the hour while they figured out the bill (about $75).
