Safari Construction

Description of Work: Repair front wall, roof, and build a front porch. Roof and front of the home was damaged by a tree that fell on the front of the home. The roof job was done so horribly that we just had another roofer repair a large hole under the front of the roof. He also needed to remove the entire front of the roof to straighten out the ridges and valleys. Materials and labor to fix his work costed an additional $1700.00. We took photos of the original job and would be glad to share so no one else has to go through this experience with Safari construction.

Description of Work: Lonnie is the general contractor for the Center for Spiritual Living, East Hawaii. He manages a crew of volunteers who are building an incredibly beautiful church. He has discounted his rates for the congregation. He has been mentor and teacher for the volunteers, teaching construction technique and insisting on the highest quality work. He is an excellent general contractor. And he is an absolute artist and artisan with tile and masonry. He stands behind every job he does, and does not end a job until the client is totally satisfied. I have seen many of his other projects, and they are remarkable for their quality. He uses good materials, and insists that everyone working for him has a focus on quality. He treats his work as a spiritual endeavor, and talks about how when he builds or remodels, he is putting his entire heart and soul into creating a work of functionality and beauty that is a blessing to the owners. He took a crew of construction novices, most over the age of 60, and taught us to be master carpenters, masons and designers. The project has extended over a year and a half, and the church is astoundingly functional and beautiful.
