After initial consultation and site inspection we agreed on a price. Date of tile installation could not be dtermined till after new counter installation. Counter installation date set. Tried to conntact installer for a week and left numerous voice messages and call back instructions. None of my calls was returned and I had to find another tile installer. I would not recommend someone that left us high and dry without the common curtisy of a phone call.

Well I contacted Mr.Riddle while I was still in Arizona to set up a time to meet once I get to Hawaii. (I located EA Builder's from Angie's list). We chated and made plans to meet and discuss any work that might need to be done once I get to my rental property. Once I arrived in Hawaii and went to my rental property and noticed I will need to replace the water heater for the home. I contacted Mr Riddle and explained the situation and stated that I will go to Home Depot and order a electric heater and parts needed and if he could pick it up heater and remove and install the new heater for me. Kelly stated sure it would not be a problem and I then explain to Kelly that I would be at the home all day Sunday getting the home ready for rent. Kelly called me on Sunday stating he was on his way. Once he arrived at the home I showed him where the heater was located and went back to doing what I was doing. Now, the old heater was there from when the home was build, so it was an old water heater and there was alot of black liquid that was leaking from heater and dirt and water on the floor. I came back out in about 5 ton10 minutes and noticed first that the old heater was removed and the new heater was placed on the stand over the water and dirt and that the heater facing the wall and the elements and drained pipe was also facing the wall. I said oh Kelly doesn't the heater have to face the front so we can get to the covers to adjust the temperature and drain the tank? He did not say anything and proceeded to turn the heater the right way. I then asked if he was going to clean up his area when he was done. Now this is part that blew my mind, when he stated that I am not your housekeeper and that in no way was he going to clean the area when he just placed a brand new heater over dirt and water. I then said don't you clean up your area when you finish a job, again he stated I am not your housekeeper and he was not going to do it. By this time he faced the heater the right way and connected the cold water flex pipe. He said I am done and threw his tools in his tool box and proceeded to leave. I said are you not going to finish the job. He said no, I said but I hired you to remove and install a new heater. He then stated " that's OK, you can throw me under the bus, if you like" and he jumped into his truck and left. I stated to him that was not my intention to do that and that all I needed was to have the work done. At this point, this turn out to be a total disaster. It was Sunday and at that time I had no one else ready to complete the job. Lucky for me, my nephew was available and close by . He is an electrician and carpenter and came over in 20 minutes to finish the job. He was done within the hour because he did have to go back into town to get some supplies he needed to do the job. My new tenants was ready to move in and everything was going to be done that day , so you can only imagine how I was feeling. Boy what and experience, just glad it happen that day and not when I wasn't here. I hope this helps other people in the search to find a reputable company to hire here in Hilo, HI. I would not recommend this company EA Builders /Kelly Riddle for any work in the future. He gives reputible companies a very bad name here in Hawaii. Unfortunately this seem to be normal for some people. To say the least I was very unhappy but also glad I had work that needed to be done and seen what kind of job ethics and company Mr Riddle had. Beware.... Thank you very much to my wonderful nephew Byron Agustin. Who did a great job. Oh yea I cleaned the area by the heater with a hose and a broom, so easy. And I am not a housekeeper either.lol Just saying.. Aloha nui loa ...
Description of Work: Mr Kelly Riddle of EA Builders pick up the water heater from Home Depot and connected the cold water flex pipe connector and left the job without finishing it. The job was to remove and reinstall a new 30 gal electric water heater. Pretty simple I thought, for a handyman. Well it turned out to be a big awful disaster.

Kelly was easy to reach. Very responsive. He showed up when he said he would. He was very careful, which was important in such a tight space. He also had good experience with a range of appliances and took special care to re-install them carefully.
Description of Work: We had to replace our kitchen floor, so Kelly and Shannon uninstalled our appliances (fridge, dishwasher, gas range), moved them temporarily to the living room, and then re-installed them.

He is the only one I really trust. He is very knowledgeable in his field. He didn't charge me anything last time he came out because I needed doors fixed. He is reasonable, if you talk to him you can work out a deal with him. I called him and he came out right away, he knew what he was doing. He is very professional.
Description of Work: I use him for handyman services. He has bult cabinests, crown molding, plumbing work, and he has done some remodeling.
