I needed a large fan installed on a high ceiling with a 6' downrod. Included a remote control. The electrician showed exactly on time and had it knocked out perfectly in just a little over an hour.

Appointment day came and call came for directions within minutes of appt. time. Two vans and electricians arrived and began to prep for the work, other than one minor change suggested by one of the two it went exactly as requested. Two breakers were added to the electrical panel and a run from panel to garage was made, three outlets and two overhead lights were added to the garage. Clean, neat and organized. Both were very professional and extremely friendly, appeared to be very competent. Even asked which way several things should be done, as there were a couple ways to go and they wanted me to be happy. They showed up around 9am and were out of the house and garage by 2pm, after cleaning up their scraps and any mess they might have made. Payment was exactly as quoted, no overruns or extras as is all to common.

Prompt reasonable and professional from contact to invoicing. Ours was a small job for a company that does commercial and residential but they treated us really well. Attended tp little details like caulking around covering for outdoor wiring. explained everything they did and why. Kind, friendly, nice guys. Great on cleanup (always a plus!). And reasonably priced - I told them to charge us more because the job took longer than they thought and the estimate they gave us, but they only adjusted it a little. Would recommend without reservation. So glad to have found a competent, professional electrician who knows what they're doing and does it well!

From the beginning the company was quick to respond with an online estimate and good about communication and scheduling. They showed up on time and did the work in a very professional manner. I would use them again without hesitation for any electrical needs.

Mr. Schenk arrived promptly at the agreed-upon time to review the job (running a 220 line from the house to pool equipment) for an estimate. A written estimate then arrived via email and it was accepted. An appointment was made for the job to be completed. Mr. Schenk arrived on time with a helper and the necessary equipment to complete the job. It took him longer than he had expected since the wiring was old and there was a lot of it. He not only finished the stated job, but also replaced a light fixture in the garage! Price was as agreed upon, less his special January discount. I will be using his services again! Love him and his wife!

Overall - good. Appointment to meet with us and give us an estimate was made promptly. The Schenk's were very professional, and I have to admit we confused the process since this is an old family home and we're the residents but not the ones responsible - we didn't make our agreement regarding payment between the family members until we were well into the process, but the Schenk's coped with this. There were 2 to 3 electricians working and the complete job took about a month, but that was due to a HECO inspection. The job was completed to the point we were under new power after two weeks. It's been great since the power situation was dire and it is such a relief to feel safe.

Everything went fine. They showed up when they said they would, did the work, and were gone in an hour. They were polite and professional. Our fixtures work as they are supposed to.

My 2-bedroom condo had an occasional light flickering issue that got rapidly worse after hanging the Christmas lights. I called about 10 different electrical companies and all had a 1-2 week wait time for appointments. Further, as this was my first time hiring an electrician, I wanted to get quotes from different companies as I'm unaware how much services typically cost. Only 2 companies were willing to come by and do an estimate/diagnosis; all the others would only come if they could do the work right then and there. Kaulana was able to come out the very next day (Friday, Nov. 11) for $180 diagnosis fee (which I thought was high but was very worried about the electrical issue getting more serious). He came on-time and was courteous and professional. I appreciated the fact that he answered my numerous questions in a straight-forward manner and without making me feel dumb/awkward for asking. Kaulana determined that a couple of the breakers were wired incorrectly (being overloaded with too many items) and recommended that the breakers be changed after learning the age of the building. With our agreement, he made a quick trip to the hardware store for new breakers, replaced all the breakers, and rewired the lines so that everything was on its own breaker. One breaker (connected to the office) presented with a new problem - it would spark when turned on. After investigating, Kaulana concluded that an outlet wire had shorted and needed replacing. He didn't have the time to take care of it that day but would come back on Monday (Veteran's Day) with another worker. Meanwhile, we were to leave the breaker switch for that room off since the breaker would spark when turned on. This was a bummer since we wouldn't have access to our computers without having to move them to another room. On Monday, Kaulana and another worker arrived early. They replaced the outlets in the office and, after discovering that one of the new breakers was defective, bought and replaced the defective breaker. Overall, I am very satisfied with the service and pricing we received from K Schenk Electric, even though I didn't receive estimates from other companies. Payment included labor and cost of the new breakers. They were quick, efficient, and professional. I liked Kaulana's straight forward approach and didn't feel that I was being being talked down to or taken advantage of for my lack of knowledge. I will be recommending their services and calling on them for future electrical issues.

Simply outstanding service from start to finish. Living in TX and coordinating services for my rental house in HI can be daunting at times, but this was the best experience from a vendor I have had in 8 years. From the initial call to discuss the work to be done, I felt I was in good hands. Everything went like clockwork and I was pleased by the price. I will certainly use Schenk in the future. Just outstanding service, responsiveness, and pleaseant to deal with!

The owner came out a Saturday (because I was leaving town the next day) , sent a written estimate within a reasonable amount of time and scheduled the appointment out a couple of weeks to fit my schedule. May have been a bit more than others but they were professional, on time and I would use them again.

The day of the job he brought helpers (big drilling job to get the conduit through the floor slab to the parking space below) and they were very polite, clean and neat. Great job from start to finish.

Good, so far. Awaiting part or replacement of lighting fixture.

Their electricians (2) arrived at the stated time. They were very professional and courteous in their conduct. They went to work immediately while communicating with us on the scope of work and what they needed to do. They were considerate in ensuring that any debris resulting from their work (like cutting open the ceiling wall board) was contained to minimize cleanup and covered my computer equipment and beds in their respective rooms to prevent debris from collecting on them. A third electrician (the head of the company) arrived to assist them about an hour later for about 2 hours. Upon completion, they cleaned up all debris and trash. To my surprise, work was completed in only 4-1/2 hours! Impressive! I really thought that the work would take all day. We are extremely satisfied with their work and would definitely use them again should the need arise.

They were very quick to respond to my call. They were there within a day of me calling. They did the work very quickly and very well. I think the pricing was fair.

This company is great. They work with you, the customer, in order to make things easy for you. Kaulana show up in time, did the job and was finished in no time. No fuss, no mess. Fine job well done.

very helpful in diagnosing the issue as an appliance rather than electrical problem, saved us a great deal of money

I didn't go with them on account of their price being higher than another company but I somewhat regret doing so. They were very professional and attentive to my needs, as well as being honest about what needed to be done. The company I went with was cheaper but did a quick job and did not fully separate out the two parts of the house so we are not getting fully accurate metering. In retrospect, K Schenk was more careful about the job and giving me an accurate quote for what I really needed to do. I can't vouch for their work but they came out two times, clearly knew what they were doing, and were upfront and honest with me. I suspect they would have done the better job had I gone with them.

At one point they misscheduled and called me 2 minutes before they were to show up that they would need to reschedule. I found this very disappointing.

Kaulana and his helper came out to my home to troubleshoot flickering and buzzing LED undercabinet lighting that another electrician had installed. His wife booked the appointment and was very easy to work with over e-mail. Kaulana and his helper quickly understood the problem, began troubleshooting and diagnosed the problem. He also provided me with an estimate on additional work in my home for possible future work.

I got work from K. Schenk Electric twice: 1st time: Had track lighting installed on kitchen ceiling with a dimmer switch installed, under-cabinet lighting (LED) wired and installed over kitchen counter with another dimmer switch, two wall sconces wired and installed again with a dimmer, and one breaker added to the electrical panel. It took about 6 hours I believe and was very well done. He cleaned up afterwards and answered some of my questions along the way. 2nd time: 3 or 4 electrical outlets replaced and another 3-4 more outlets fixed (the ones I unskillfully tried to replace!). Cost was $50 because it only took a few minutes and was easy for him. The work perfectly and I have no complaints. I would recommend Kaulana's business (i.e. K. Schenk Electric) without reservation and I will be using them again.
