Recommended by plumber called Bob's Pumping Service at around 5:00 pm if he could determine why sewage was backing up in shower and bathtub of my home. He (Paul) recommended opening the clean out plug outside of the house which would allow the overflow sewage to drain. I asked when would be the earliest he could come to the house, and he said he would call me back to let me know. To my surprise and happiness, he called back and said he would come to my house that night! Paul arrived around 7:00 pm and begun snaking the pipe, but had no luck in determining what the problem was. We needed to find the plug for the cesspool, which we had been looking for since the problem appeared to be with the cesspool. Paul found the concrete cap but not plug, he finally left at around 9:00 pm. The following day, with the help of a backhoe, we found the plug called Paul back and asked him to return. The problem was that the plug was about 2 feet deep, and not the normal 1 foot depth. He said he would have Kawika come to the house later in the day. Kawika arrived in the early afternoon, and found that the cesspool was full and needed to be pumped. After pumping out the sewage, he put a camera into the the pipe to check for possible damage. Luckily, the pipe was not damaged and there did not appear to be any root damage to the cesspool. Kawika returned the following day to install a collar around the plug to make it easier to find the plug in the future. We would highly recommend Bob's, and would use him in the future.

septic tank

Description of Work: We moved into out home in 2007 and were advised by the previous owners that the septic tank had been pumped in 2005. Assuming a five-year pumping frequency was appropriaqte, I contacted Bob's Pumping Service after a Google-search. He came the very next day to locate the tank and priovide an estimate. The pumping itself was just over $500. He said it might cost an additional $150-200 to locate the tank and open it up. We agreed to a service date the following week. Bob's was prompt in arriving and his two trucks were incredibly clean and his two helpers were appropriately dressed and well-mannered. It took longer to locate the tank than anticipated because it didn't appear that it had ever been opened since the house was built in 1997. When he finally located it - by inserting a camera cable into a clean-out, snaking to the the tank, and then locating his camera with a sensor of some sort - he discovered that large rocks had been included with the fill material when it was buried. The compacting had forced the rocks into the tank cover casuing it to crack. The cover was at a depth of nearly two feet. He suggested replacing the cover and adding a "manhole" to bring the access cover to within a couple of inches of the surface. He also suggested extending a smaller access clean-out to surface level. The cost of these two repairs was estimated to be a little over $200. It took all of the first afternoon to locate the tank and pump it out. They returned the following day to install the access pipes and new covers. Total tab at the end was $950. No surprises (except that the previous owners had apparently never had the tank pumped). These guys were the best. Highly recommend them.
