 + -1 moreA bulb in my kitchen light burned out and when I put another one in, it still didn't work. I tried 2 or three new bulbs but still no luck. So I figured it was the fixture. The house is old and I do not like to take chances with electrical. So I called Weatherwax because they have been doing business here for a long time. When I called,he told me they were doing residential on Saturdays only, and that it would be best to just change the whole fixture. That was fine with me, I am always concerned about safety especially with electrical stuff. He told me his hourly rate was 125. I agreed. So he came that Saturday, even earlier than we said. Great! It turned out to be faulty bulbs after all!! He only charged me half the rate. Then he explained the bulbs I was using were getting too hot next to the KKnack ceiling. Even though the fixture was shielded, the bulbs were damaging the insulation. So, for the kitchen he showed me how cool the fluorocarbon bulbs were and we made the switch. anything to avoid fire. I still prefer the type of light from an incandescent, but I would rather have house to live in! His good advice alone was well worth the fee!
