+ -1 moreTHIS IS A SECOND HAND REVIEW. HERE IS THE QUOTE FROM THE REAL PERSON WHO HAD THESE GUYS REMODEL HER KITCHEN AND ETC. "DO NOT USE Mokulua Builders. They were our general contractors and it was a nightmare." I'm posting this because she warned ME while I looked for GC's. Is the kitchen gorgeous? YES. work good quality? YES. From what she said, the 'nightmare' was that they yell and scream and do NOT get along with their own subs or the clients themselves. "It was horrible." She said, "NEVER USE THEM." She gave me permission to share this information aloha

+ -1 moreIt did not go well. Since we couldn't get anyone to contact us, we gave up and went with another company.
Description of Work: Emailed company after a BIA home show. Their products looked well made, but we could not even get someone to respond to our emails. When someone finally did after 3 weeks, he referred us to someone else who never responded to us. Couldn't even schedule an estimate.

+ 0 moreWe contacted the company because we were interested in purchasing a condo the had unpermitted upgrades. We wanted to get an estimate for bringing the unit up to code. We were told they charged $80/hr for services and agreed to this amount thinking something simple like an estimate may cost an hour or an hour and a half. Doug arrived 15 minutes late blaming his gps unit. The inspection seemed to be fine, was less than an hour. We expected the estimate within a few days but it took 8 business days. Then we were told the invoice would be for 3.5 hours. Upon learning this we checked with our real estate agent who was as surprised as we were. She had never heard of being charged for an estimate in her 20 years working in real estate. Sure enough, we called and talked to other contractors that said, "sure, estimates are always free!" Doug agreed to lower the fee to 3 hours. The estimate itself looked fine and was what we were looking for. Unluckily, the unit went into escrow before we submitted our bid. It seems fair to cover time for labor, however, after finding out that other contractors provided free estimates, naturally we felt that we had wasted money.
Description of Work: Mokulua woodworking provided a written estimate for bringing a condominium unit up to compliance with current building codes.
